If Carlsberg did motorway service hotels… Absolutely stunning location, lambs, swans, signers, lake and sailboats. Simply beautiful, especially considering it’s a motorway services with all the conveniences that entails. The man on reception bent over backwards to help us as we had forgotten to book an accessible room. Excellent.

Basic room and no facilities at the hotel. Heating was temperamental, the fan in the bathroom very noisy and ineffectual. That said the bed was comfy.

The lady on reception was welcoming, room was basic but clean and tidy if a little worn. Parking was in the motorway services main carpark but we had no trouble with it. There is some noise from traffic on the M6 but not enough to stop us sleeping.

Although the bathroom was dated and in need of an upgrade, it was clean. The hotel is in a great location overlooking Killington Lake. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful.

Terrible .. Hair in the bath .. smelly carpet and whole place stunk of smoke and Weed kind of smell … not at all good for kids or even person that likes cleanliness… never ever coming back here even for free … Lady at the reception however was brilliant and welcoming so 5 star to her but the rest awful…

The floor hadn't been hoovered there were balls of hair and nails. Good job I took my crocs to wear to and from the toilet. The furniture was very tired and worn, with massive chunks taken out of the wood.

I couldn’t sleep in the bed. It didn’t feel clean. The room was obviously designed for a person with limited mobility about 20 years ago. Very poor finish. All I could smell was cigarette smoke. Only food available was McDonald’s and Costa Never again

Room was a bit tired with chipped paintwork. Bathroom was clean. No traffic noise from the M6 but a lot of noise from the corridor, with doors banging etc.

This Days Inn is perfectly ok accommodation fopr a night or two, but the lick of paint that has been applied to all surfaces in the rooms doesn't really disguise the fact that this is a property that has seen better days and feels cheap and basic. The shower was badly under-powered, there was only one pillow, and the paint job was pretty dreadful (they even painted the bathroom tiles!).

Avoid if can, the beds in room 9 were awful, could feel every spring in the mattress. Rust all around radiator in the bathroom and the bath taps, vinyl coming off doors etc in the bathroom. Furniture in the bedroom very dated and paint chips etc. Couldnt use fan as was covered in dust on the fan blades etc. Staff very friendly.

Stayed here for one night in a multiple beds room. Room was spacious and had all we needed. I would definitely recommend opting for the lake view rooms as the view is great! Both members of staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Our bed was terrible, noisy, creeky springs that poke you in the side as you lie down. I've slept in a lot of budget hotels over the years and never had a bed anywhere near that bad. The staff member on night shift did their best to help and were very pleasent but with no other rooms available there wasn't much they could do. The manager in the morning was no help and offered no apology. Room cleanliness was fine and condition is not to far off the norm for a roadside services hotel. Just a shame to barely sleep when that is the only reason you are there.

The receptionist was very welcoming, knowledgeable and informative and completed formalities in a most businesslike,friendly and humorous fashion.She is an excellent ambassador for your company. The view of the lake from our room was excellent. Overall a very relaxing overnight stay.

This was an idea spot to stop half way for our trip from Somerset to Scotland. It is conveniently just off the motorway. We had our dog with us and she was made very welcome by the staff. The staff were very helpful and answered all our queries. We would definitely stay again.

Staff very welcoming. Good size room and decent sleep.fpr the couple of nights we stayed. Ideal for what I wanted as stop over and driving to lake district during the day. Stayed in front, which was surprisingly quiet. Car parking not a problem and free.

Beautiful lake side views. Staff very welcoming and put the heating on in my room for me. The bathroom could do with a revamp and the hairdryer and towel rail didn't work but it didn't detract from a warm and comfortable stay just off the M6

Lovely stop for an overnight stay en route to Scotland from the south. Very dog friendly too. Easy free parking - McDonald's next door. Take snacks etc as no shops nearby. Very comfortable - fabulous views and great value.

This was excellent for the price. Very convenient for our drive as easy off the motorway and easy to get back on southbound way. The views were stunning and the outside of the building brick fitted the setting. Also never seen so many dogs at one hotel. Although room smelt damp staff and everything else made this no issue. Can easy forget where you are when taking in the view and sitting out the back

It would have been useful to know at time of booking that hotel is on south bound carriageway so travelling north we had to go to next junction and back down and on leaving we have to do the reverse.

Convenient location off the motorway near Kendal, less east of travelling north. Wasn’t clear if there was specific parking and couldn’t park close to doors so difficult with luggage. Rooms were a bit tired and needs some maintenance. Staff were friendly. Recommend purchasing food at the services further north as only Costa and McDonald’s available

The Motel was good but Unfortunately the Dining Options was limited to MacDonalds and Costa ( which shut at 1800 hrs) Will not stop at Days Inn on the motorway again

Perfect for a reasonably priced stay while in the lake district. Cheap and cheerful but the facilities reflect this. Food is next door at the services, but tea and coffee are supplied in your room

Overall our stay was quiet and comfortable and for £60 just off the motorway just what we needed. Shower was fine and good towels. BUT this hotel is in serious need of a refurb.. Everything is tired and shabby. Wouldn't have liked to have used the sofa bed as it was dirty and stained. For breakfast there is a Costa and McDonald's in the service station right next door with a shared seating area .

Lovely location. Keep in mind it's a service station hotel and there is no official restaurant. Just ensure your expectations are in line with what you're booking. Room was decent and clean, if a bit tired. House Martin nesting holes near the windows were a nice touch and good to watch. View was great.

Very comfortable and convenient motel, with an unusually great view. Also option to buy a voucher for discounted breakfast in the services. Staff friendly and made check in very swift.

Convenient stop off en route. Said it had a restaurant but that turned out to be macdonalds at the m6 services. Bed was clean and comfy but hotel is tired. Could use a little TLC

Convenient location off the motorway near Kendal, less east of travelling north. Wasn’t clear if there was specific parking and couldn’t park close to doors so difficult with luggage. Rooms were a bit tired and needs some maintenance. Staff were friendly. Recommend purchasing food at the services further north as only Costa and McDonald’s available

We stayed in one of the twin rooms overlooking the lake, the view is lovely and worth paying slightly more for if you have the option. You can hear the motorway with the window open, but not at all when the window was closed, so it was actually really quiet at night. Even with the window open, the noise level wasn't that bad (and I'm someone who is sensitive to noise!) My main criticism was that there was a strong smell on entering the room and bathroom, a damp smell I think. And the tray that the mugs & tea bags etc. were on wasn't clean. But apart from that, we were satisfied with our stay. I'd probably stay again, but only if I could get a cheap rate. The person on reception was excellent, and there were free books (for a charitable donation) in reception, which was a nice touch.

This hotel has seen better days. It is adequate and clean, but the fixtures and fittings in the bathroom need looking at. We had an unfortunate incident that the bathroom ceiling was leaking and the water was coming in through our light fitting, making it dangerous so we had to move. We were in a family room for 2 adults and 1 child, but could only be offered a twin room suitable for 2 people. Luckily we were travelling with 2 friends who had a family room, so we were able to juggle the rooms, but if we had not been with friends, one of us would have had to sleep on the floor! The view from the hotel is lovely - it's saving grace and the staff were lovely.
