The motel was very clean and fresh. It looked like it had been newly remodeled. There was a refrigerator in microwave and coffee maker. Had a nice safety bar to step in and out of the shower. Bed was very comfortable. There was a nice table and two chairs.

This is a nice and quiet stay with a perfect location. Very close to the Nantahala Forest. For the price it can't be beat! Some minor cosmetic repairs are needed, but nothing serious at all, and you can tell they are being worked on. The cleanliness more than makes up for it. I've stayed in chain hotels that are more expensive, but aren't anywhere near as clean as Murphy Motel is. The manager is friendly and kind, and went out of his way to make sure I had a pleasant stay! The best part of my stay was sitting outside my room at night (they have chairs!) and talking with my motel room neighbors. This has become my go-to stay for Murphy!

We are in the process of moving to the area from Indiana. I was taking a load to the new house from Indiana and was heading back home. I need some place to stay the night, because new house is not ready. Murphy Motel was quick and easy from it's location. The motel is older, but well taken care of. The best value for the area! The room was clean and quiet. It had a hot shower, a good heater, good bed, supplied coffee, and a TV. Probably, the only negative, the towels and bedding had been cleaned so many times, they were rough and needed to be replaced. Other than that, I would definitely go back!

We are in the process of moving to the area from Indiana. I was taking a load to the new house from Indiana and was heading back home. The owner was very nice. Internet worked well once we figured out which one to use. They didn't have ice, which is a minus 1 point. Nothing close to eat. We would stay here again.

You checked in at a walk up window. The room had an intense fragrance. It was overpowering. The road noise was loud. The next day my clothes all still smelled off that awful room!

The sheets had spots on them, the walls were dirty in the bathroom and around the entrance door. We killed 5 cockroaches our first night and one the second after we complained and received a different room.

The room was too dim to even read in, sheets had stains on them, no wifi, tv was small and the picture was not sharp, the mattress was uncomfortable and when you lay down in it there was a distinct slant to where your head was significantly lower than your feet (I actually had to sleep with my feet towards the headboard).

Towels and wash rags were stained and dirty looking, and the main highway is literally 50 feet from your door..so traffic noise is pretty loud...the heater did not work well either. Then check out is 10 30 a.m. , so it was just ok..but not a great stay.

I have stayed at Murphy Hotel before and it wasn’t so bad. But I guess you get what you pay for. The temperature couldn’t get regulated, either too hot or too cool. There were bugs in the room. A centipede crawled out from the sink, a roach walking around on the bathroom counter. There was no reception even with Wi-Fi to make calls. No plugs near the bed to charge the phone or other electronics.

The room was clean. It had a mini fridge, microwave and individual coffee maker. If you have a bad back, though, it’s not the best choice because the beds are very soft … too soft to provide support. If you love soft, cozy mattresses that you sink down into, it would be perfect for you.

We stay here every year and sometimes twice a year and we love it! It’s always a great experience. Although it is a small, no frills roadside motel, that is just fine, it’s quiet, quaint, clean, comfortable, very reasonably priced and the owners and staff are always very nice and accommodating! It fit us perfect and we enjoy our stay every time! Highly recommended!

Cute little motel. Most motels are pretty sketchy, but this was a cute little building that my wife and I loved. I took off one star from the clean writing because the first night there was dog hair or something on our comforter on the bed and on the first layer of sheets under that but once we notified them they took care of it immediately.

These are the cleanest rooms. I always stay here while in this area. The owners take pride in their property and it shows. The rooms are always neat and the grounds extremely well kept. The area is a very safe one also. The staff and the owners are friendly and accommodating. There is so much also to do while in this beautiful area as well. I highly recommend Murphy Motel.

This was one of the Best motels I’ve ever stayed at and I travel a lot on business. What first impressed me upon pulling in was how clean the outside looks. You can tell they are very clean people and take pride in their business. Once walking in I was even more impressed with the cleanliness of the room. I could not find one thing wrong with this room and that’s a rarity these days. It’s close to the Deckers Flea Market, Field of Woods, and so many consignment shops. I smoke but never in a room so to have two chairs right outside each door was the topping on the cake. I sat outside and just relaxed watching the traffic go by. I also met the owner/manager and he was so helpful with anything I could have needed. The cleaning staff was also amazing, very mindful of making sure I had all I needed. You can tell by all the small extras in the room, these are very thoughtful people as to want their guests happy and want to return. And I can assure you this will be the only location we will stay at when we are in or near the area. A+

This was one of the Best motels I’ve ever stayed at and I travel a lot on business. What first impressed me upon pulling in was how clean the outside looks. You can tell they are very clean people and take pride in their business. Once walking in I was even more impressed with the cleanliness of the room. The shower drain wasn't working properly, we stayed 4 nights and they never cleaned the room, nor changed the towels, the bed sheets were so stained they weren't white anymore. The only pleasant thing was the theatrics of the receptionist lady.

Towels and wash rags were stained and dirty looking, and the main highway is literally 50 feet from your door..so traffic noise is pretty loud...the heater did not work well either. Then check out is 10 30 a.m. , so it was just ok..but not a great stay.
