Stafford Bayview Inn was very historical, & classy. The property goes back to 1886, which was cool. But on the other hand some technoligy could help. The elevator although very unique, & historical.was hard to use because of size & harsh moving parts!

I don't normally have much loyalty for hotels but this place really impressed me! The staff was super friendly, and there were cookies waiting for us in our room. Breakfast is included and it's honestly the best breakfast we've had at a hotel. There are chairs in the lawn to enjoy the sun and view of the lake. Also you can borrow bikes for nearby trails. Great value for money, would go back.

Great staff! Always friendly, personable & helpful. A charming, beautiful, & clean place to stay. Always smelled & looked fresh & clean. Delicious complimentary for us, breakfasts. Best service you'll find, from folks who engage and understand hospitality. Get a backside room with no traffic noise & a nice view of the bay. Our hot tub was a great addition after a fun day of skiing, as was the fireplace. 24/7 free coffee, snacks, & non-alcoholic beverages. Will return asap! Thanks especially to Carrie & Tom :)

Elevator is a historic relic… fun at first but pain thereafter…takes 2 people to operate easily with luggage…nice bar, sun room, dining rooms, library… good size rooms and great beds. So central and convenient with plenty of free parking!

The suite was excellent. Bed was comfortable. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly and professional. Very well maintained and beautiful. The outdoor gardens and grounds were well maintained and the beautifully designed. Plan to revisit in the future.

This is a lovely, historical inn with some unique features. The staff is very warm and friendly, the restaurant serves a great breakfast and you have beautiful views of the lake from the back of the property. However, the inn could use a little updating in some areas. For example, the floors were extremely creaky to the point that just shifting your weight caused a loud creak! Overall, a very nice place to stay.

Unrivaled hospitality. The woman who handled my check in went above and beyond to ensure I was aware of the amenities, I was comfortable, and that I would enjoy my stay. This was all done right away without me asking a thing. The place was by far the cleanest, most comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. Staff was always readily available and always had a smile.

Wonderful 2 night stay. Inn is very well kept and in good condition for its age, while maintaining historical charm. Our room was very clean and comfortable for the two of us. Nice amenities and we really enjoyed the breakfast. You won’t find a sit down breakfast like this at a chain hotel. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict and cherry French toast! We brought our own bicycles and rode the trail which is directly on the property to Harbor Springs. Great location for exploring Petoskey and surrounding areas. The staff was helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay again!

Have stayed in Petoskey several times and always rode bikes past the Stafford and was curious. Finally made a reservation for 3 nights. We had a room on the US31 side of the Inn so we had some traffic noise but we both sleep well and would not consider it a big distraction. US31 is the main and very busy road through Petoskey, however when sitting on the back/side deck at the Stafford with the beautiful view of the lake you don't notice the road noise as much. The breakfast was excellent and presentation was perfect. All employees were very courtious and helpful. Location is excellent if your riding bikes on the trail that goes right behind the Inn. Would stay again

wonderful location in a beautiful old dame of a building. outside landscaping and setting is picture-perfect. Inside, the rooms are clean and suffice, but outdated and showing their age. Also, the K sized bed had a HUGE gap between where your head rests and the headboard, which we could not make comfortable despite stuffing with pillows. We opted to sleep at the foot of the bed instead.

This historic property is beautifully restored/maintained. The staff is excellent and friendly, the spaces are charming and lovely. We had a third floor suite with a view of the bay and a comfortable king size bed. The charm of the inn includes the decorating, the food, the hospitality, the location, and even some quirkiness like the historic elevator. We loved it all.

I would 100% stay here again. The hotel itself is so charming and beautiful. The bay view is spectacular. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Location-wise, it is just 5min from Downtown Petoskey.

After about 15 years of annual stays at the Bay View Inn, we had a 21-year hiatus so we can looked forward to our stay. It was lovely with same charm we remembered—enough antiques to give it character and enough updated amenities to give it comfort.

2-ply TP would be nice. In-room, or even on-floor, coffee would have been appreciated. There was no in-room temperature adjustment capability, no microwave, and no TV in the room. The room was quiet. The bed mattress was "hilly". There were sufficient bedside power outlets. The sitting area chairs were quite comfortable. Lighting was good. We enjoyed the jacuzzi tub was nice.

Lovely area for cocktail hour with bright windows. Outdoor porch has water view. Since it was our first time here, I should have been more particular about our room choice. Our room did not match picture and was quite small. Shower stall quite tiny. Noise from road was loud. These things could have been avoided with better planning on our part. Other options might have met our needs better.

Check in was lovely,a very sweet lady very helpful and friendly. Night time person not so much. Asked about the noise of the road, just sat behind the desk in the office and chuckled his response “Yeah sometimes its really bad and bothers people” Had to check out a day early due to a death in the family the next morning and the sweet, friendly lady from the day before was there and was again very helpful and friendly. From reading there was a restaurant in the hotel,it was not open for dinner or lunch that day. Traveling solo for the first time since my husbands death,I was not quite ready to go in town to eat solo, so I was disappointed about the restaurant inside the hotel not being open, wound up at Mcds.

The Inn was absolutely charming! Both the manager and evening clerk were attentive and helpful. The property was exactly as advertised and we appreciated the opportunity to pay onsite ( as opposed to a prepay reservation) due to the winter weather. We wish we could have stayed longer.

It was perfect, the staff was very friendly and made us feel at home. Bobby Jo was amazing, was fun to chat with and always greeted us with a smile. No T.V. no problem, we were so tired from traveling and walking that we just crashed as soon as we hit the pillows. Next time we're in the Petoskey area we will definitely be staying there.

Beautiful historic property overlooking the bay. A special weekend for us and the manager made it even more special by upgrading our room at no extra cost. Every facet of the property is meticulously maintained. We are very pleased

Very charming hotel built in 1886. So much more interesting than a big impersonal chain hotel. The staff was great and showed a real interest in us.

Have stayed in Petoskey several times and always rode bikes past the Stafford and was curious. Finally made a reservation for 3 nights. We had a room on the US31 side of the Inn so we had some traffic noise but we both sleep well and would not consider it a big distraction. US31 is the main and very busy road through Petoskey, however when sitting on the back/side deck at the Stafford with the beautiful view of the lake you don't notice the road noise as much. The breakfast was excellent and presentation was perfect. All employees were very courtious and helpful. Location is excellent if your riding bikes on the trail that goes right behind the Inn. Would stay again

I would 100% stay here again. The hotel itself is so charming and beautiful. The bay view is spectacular. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Location-wise, it is just 5min from Downtown Petoskey.

Friendly and helpful staff. It is near the lake with a rocky beach from which I saw the sunset. The porch and dining room have views of the beautiful garden flowers and the lake. I loved the blue/white room with an alcove that we had. The place has a lot of charm! I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful 2 night stay. Inn is very well kept and in good condition for its age, while maintaining historical charm. Our room was very clean and comfortable for the two of us. Nice amenities and we really enjoyed the breakfast. You won’t find a sit down breakfast like this at a chain hotel. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict and cherry French toast! We brought our own bicycles and rode the trail which is directly on the property to Harbor Springs. Great location for exploring Petoskey and surrounding areas. The staff was helpful and friendly. Lovely area for cocktail hour with bright windows. Outdoor porch has water view. Since it was our first time here, I should have been more particular about our room choice. Our room did not match picture and was quite small. Shower stall quite tiny. Noise from road was loud. These things could have been avoided with better planning on our part. Other options might have met our needs better.

Elevator is a historic relic… fun at first but pain thereafter…takes 2 people to operate easily with luggage…nice bar, sun room, dining rooms, library… good size rooms and great beds. So central and convenient with plenty of free parking!

Check in was lovely,a very sweet lady very helpful and friendly. Night time person not so much. Asked about the noise of the road, just sat behind the desk in the office and chuckled his response “Yeah sometimes its really bad and bothers people” Had to check out a day early due to a death in the family the next morning and the sweet, friendly lady from the day before was there and was again very helpful and friendly. From reading there was a restaurant in the hotel,it was not open for dinner or lunch that day. Traveling solo for the first time since my husbands death,I was not quite ready to go in town to eat solo, so I was disappointed about the restaurant inside the hotel not being open, wound up at Mcds.

The hotel was nowhere near full and they put me in a room right next to a European style very noisy elevator with a door that slammed and a cage that rattled. Lucky me. The restaurant was closed for dinner. They told me there would be water bottles in my room and there were none.

Our rooms were quaint and clean. Staff was helpful and always working to make our stay wonderful. The dining room food was tasty, well presented, with helpful staff. We will be making our stay a yearly trip.

I don't normally have much loyalty for hotels but this place really impressed me! The staff was super friendly, and there were cookies waiting for us in our room. Breakfast is included and it's honestly the best breakfast we've had at a hotel. There are chairs in the lawn to enjoy the sun and view of the lake. Also you can borrow bikes for nearby trails. Great value for money, would go back.

It’s a certain taste if you wanna unplug an unwind it’s probably a good place. There’s no TVs in the rooms the very old as you can expect. However, they were always shorthanded. It seemed like for staff whether being in the restaurant we had to leave and go somewhere else they just didn’t have enough people to handle what they were dealing with. Good views rooms on the road side are very loud because of the traffic.
