The hotel is in a great spot with plenty of parking. Rooms are good, breakfast is great but what really makes the hotel is the staff, they are a real credit to the hotel. Irene at breakfast couldnt do enough. I'll definitely be back. Thank you.

Wirkt auf den ersten Blick sehr schön und gut eingerichtet. Die Sauberkeit der Zimmer lässt jedoch noch eine Menge Luft nach oben: - Fernbedienung wurde noch nie geputzt (Tuch war danach völig schwarz) - Ungeziefer (lebend und tot) in den Lampen im Bad - Fenster klebrig - Tische auf den Zimmern und im Restaurant schmutzig und klebrig - Flecken im Teppich Des Weiteren füllte sich der Spülkasten der Toilette nur sehr langsam, wodurch man durchaus 10 min warten musste um ein nächstes Mal spülen zu können. Auch eine ziemlich helle grüne LED in der Decke stört in der Nacht beim Schlafen. Das Personal im Empfangsbereich war sehr nett. Im Restaurant jedoch eher zurückhaltend. Positiv war, dass ausreichend Parkplätze zur Verfügung standen.

This hotel is in a superb location in a beautiful place. The hotel has a stunning aspect and staff were very friendly and the breakfast was lovely. However, there were a few things that could be improved on which would really impact on quality of stay, in my view. 1. There doesn't appear to be an elevator to rooms, so had to lug bag upstairs with injured knee. No-one asked if any assistance was needed with bags on check-in which is something I'd strongly suggest should occur. 2. Hotel lacked a traditional Irish bar. There seemed to be no distinct drinking area as all the tables were set for dinner and there was only five stools at the bar. Staff did offer to serve drink in a tv room. Way below what anyone would expect in an Irish hotel. Grout in bathroom badly needs replacement. We generally enjoyed our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Front desk staff didn’t gave us an option to use the elevator, especially when we have heavy suitcases. I like Killaloe area. Not the hotel. The spa was average also. With a surprising 4.7 rating on google.

The only issue was there was no elevator to take to the room so we didn’t not bring our luggage to our room and packed a small overnight bag with what we needed .

Nice, clean, comfortable hotel in a nice locaation. It's a small hotel and with that comes a friendlly helpful service. The room we stayed in was adequate with a king size bed, TV, table and all the usual furniture that you expect. It's a short 10 or 15 minute pleasant walk into town and probably much quicker that taking the car as Killaloe is the first feasible crossing of the Shannon after Lough Derg which means it can be quite busy with traffic

Lovely location, grest room with nice view, spoilt slightly by musty smells in corridor on our floor due to water leaks but staff trying to resolve, reception should have warned us there was an issue. Would come agsin.

Fantastic stay at a lovely hotel. The staff were all so friendly and the service was fantastic. The room was lovely, spacious and clean. The food was great quality and the cooked-to-order breakfast was a treat.

We got to hotel girl on reception was very nice,she checked us in ,we went to our room once we opened the door the smell of damping and mold was terrible, went back to reception and she's changed ours room the room was ok until we opened the bathroom door the mold on the ceiling was just terrible, paint works was flanking off the timber, I could go on!!!! Went to have a shower in the morning no hot water. It was a terrible weekend away. The only good thing was the breakfast and staff were very nice. We paid over 583 euro for what was supposed to be a relaxing weekend which turned out to be so stressful.

Lovely Hotel. Spacious room with all amenities plus a nice touch of cake and bottled water. Wonderful choice for breakfast and drinks prices reasonable. Loved it.

We stayed on 26th dec & with late check in but got an email early in the day for designated room number . So staff were well aware which room we were checking into. The room was Baltic , the sheets on the bed were so cold we had to wear our full clothing to eventually heat up .

We stayed one night at the hotel in a deluxe room with terrace- room 111. Large bed and plenty of space. The room Wass very quiet and having the little patio area was really nice and private. We both had an excellent nights sleep and enjoyed a tasty breakfast. Receptionist at checkin was very helpful and friendly. I would love to return!

These issues were raised with the hotel and many have been commented on before in reviews and obviously not addressed. Room comfortable but repainting needed. Table/benches badly scratched. As a 4 star hotel, a fridge would be appreciated – “free bottled water” rather warm at this time of year. Lighting hopeless - just lamps, can’t read in bed. Room above some sort of heater/generator which boosted several times during the night and very noisy. Outside area of room gravelled so lots of noise of people moving about at night and early (3.15am, 5am, 6am) but told by staff that the area is not used. Bathroom miniscule. Water pressure/temperature erratic. Grout needs replacing. House cleaning sporadic – glasses, towels not changed. Bins not emptied. Toiletries not replaced. Bench and bath not cleaned. . Vacuuming not done. Reception – some staff great such as Megan, Ellen and Rebecca, others not so helpful. Had to assist four groups who ended up outside my room to their rooms. Dining – laminated tables peeling. Over a fortnight, menu did not change. Side portions horrible. Laundry – told not available but boast about it in FAQ on website. Managers/staff need more training. Solo travellers as important as others. Would never stay here again even if paid. See tripadviser for full review

Room above some sort of heater/generator which boosted several times during the night and very noisy. Outside area of room gravelled so lots of noise of people moving about at night and early (3.15am, 5am, 6am) but told by staff that the area is not used. Bathroom miniscule. Water pressure/temperature erratic. Grout needs replacing. House cleaning sporadic – glasses, towels not changed. Bins not emptied. Toiletries not replaced. Bench and bath not cleaned. . Vacuuming not done. Reception – some staff great such as Megan, Ellen and Rebecca, others not so helpful. Had to assist four groups who ended up outside my room to their rooms. Dining – laminated tables peeling. Over a fortnight, menu did not change. Side portions horrible. Laundry – told not available but boast about it in FAQ on website. Managers/staff need more training. Solo travellers as important as others. Would never stay here again even if paid. See tripadviser for full review

Great for value, such a lovely hotel, normally book in here and the breakfast is amazing, the staff are so accommodating, woke up after half 10 and still supplied us with a hot breakfasts

The staff was wonderful. Irene and Nora who work in the dining area were wonderful. All dining services were great no matter when you were in the dining room. I would highly recommend this beautiful hotel to everyone.

Last minute stay for work. Hotel clean and staff friendly. Nice location and easy stroll into town. Only downside was no hot water for a shower the next morning. Would stay again.

Lovely location, grest room with nice view, spoilt slightly by musty smells in corridor on our floor due to water leaks but staff trying to resolve, reception should have warned us there was an issue. Would come agsin.

Close enough for a leisurely stroll down to the river bridge, and villages on each bank of the Shannon. Very picturesque location adjacent to the harbour and boats. Internally an interesting mix of stone and timber features, also book shelf dividers in restaurant.

Lighting in room was poor and bathroom had an extraction fan that ran for ages after light was turned off. I had fish and chips in restaurant and there were too many chips and everything seem to have been cooked in salt

Lovely Hotel. Spacious room with all amenities plus a nice touch of cake and bottled water. Wonderful choice for breakfast and drinks prices reasonable. Loved it.

The place was lovely, lots of beautiful scenery. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Several cafes to get coffee/tea and pastries. Onsite restaurant was good but can get overly busy for dinners especially weekends since the area is limited for eating out at dinner time.

The rooms were basic, with a broken window and leaking showers, as well as loose sockets and a broken socket. Whilst these issues were reported no maintenance was undertaken during our three-night stay. Cleaning could do with some improvement, with cobwebs in the room, but more concerningly no evidence of cleaning of corridors and stairways with visible rubbish on the move for the duration of our stay. The spa was also closed during our stay, which hadn't been notified at the time of booking. The breakfast was broadly good although a lot of glasses were dirty. The staff were all friendly. Overall great location but the hotel is in need of a deep clean and some significant maintenance works, including rectifying a leak in the hallway outside our room that was ongoing for a number of days.

This was, without question, the worst hotel experience we have had using Hotels.com in the last 10 years. For reference, this has been well over 50 hotels. The Killaloe Hotel is billed as a sophisticated 4-star establishment and charges accordingly. I briefly note that there was no coffee in the room (only tea), and the coffee for breakfast was so bad it was undrinkable. However, you can pay €4 for a cappuccino (something I have never been charged for at a 4-star hotel, and admittedly was decent). All in all, the breakfast was average. Far, far worse was the room and service. Our room was dirty and dated: cobwebs on the walls and ceiling, smudges all over the one little window, mold in the bathroom, bath scum in the tub, candy and stains on the carpet, layers of dust on the headboard, so thick that I could write "DUST" in big capital letters. When we turned the light on in the bathroom, we got moving shadows from a suddenly alive insect colony inside the light. Here is where things become appalling. We mentioned all this the morning after our first night. When we came in late for our second evening, all was unchanged except the DUST note written in dust! In fairness, at the end of our stay, we shared a stack of photos, including a video of the insect hive, to the management and staff and stressed there is no way to defend this as representing a 4-star hotel. I think (and I hope) that were truly embarrassed. In any case, they gave us half off, which seemed reasonable.
