I expected something average but got something truely exceptional. I can say without doubt this was the most comfortable, clean, roomy, well maintained and beautifully renovated accommodation I have EVER stayed in. The staff were super friendly. The breakfast was exquisite. The pub itself is charming and the dinner menu full of local produce and the meal I had was delicious. I was worried about where to park the car in such a tiny village but there is a big car park at the back. Definitely recommend. 11 stars!

Staff very friendly, attentive & always there if you needed them. Excellent food & well stocked bar. Plenty of attractions in the area to visit but be aware of the single track roads in & out of the village & surrounding areas.

One of the comfiest beds I have stayed in lovely big shower. The food was magnificent.A lot of choice of local produce perfectly cooked and coped wonderfully with my allergies. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were so friendly safe car park situated in lovely village with with beautiful dark skies for viewing the stars nice and peaceful we will be back

A really old pub in a remote part of the Tamar Valley AONB with lots of character. The meal that we had was excellent and there was a good selection of wines to choose from. The accommodation was also excellent and way above what we were expecting for a B&B attached to a pub. The staff were very friendly and made us really welcome. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

TV too small, around 19" and smaller than regular computer monitor. No window other than skylight. Room lighting poor. No full length mirror, no shower mat. Toilet not flushing properly.

Matt and the team were amazing, nothing too much trouble, We booked only one night at this wonderfully, charming B&B.....wished we'd booked longer! .We ate our evening meal in the pub and it was delicious. Our room was clean, very comfortable and huge! Thank you Matt for your wonderful hospitality..... we tell everyone about this little gem!

We had a lovely overnight stay at this inn. The room was great , very clean , quality fixtures and fittings. Bed very comfortable, quality bed linens. Spacious ensuite , plenty of hot water with good water pressure in the shower. Showe gel , shampoo and towels all provided. We had a lovely meal in the evening , 3 course special menu was great value. Great breakfast provided in the morning. Team at the inn were friendly and welcoming. Full of character

We arrived at the “who’d have thought it”, to an amazing welcome. All of the staff was exceptional and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was spotless and welcoming, while we were there we had a meal in their restaurant and again very friendly staff and the meal was fantastic. We will definitely be booking again to come back.

Beautiful spot and a lovely stretch of legs around the white cottage village. Some confusion over breakfast times with the landlord which got resolved but best to make it clear breakfast is not served until 9am if a business traveller this is too late. (i was asked if i stay in country pubs and i do 47 so far this year) Food was good quality i loved the chicken bites delicious. The room could do with a chair as you have to put luggage on the floor although the room is very small.

Stayed as working in Cornwall just over boarder nice room ,comfortable,had it’s own entrance behind pub with key box (great idea) Pub was very friendly,food great, very good quality and choice Had an early start so they made me up a breakfast basket to take away all included Would recommend It’s certainly off the beaten track!!! Interesting drive to the pub from Gunnislake
Stayed as working in Cornwall just over boarder nice room ,comfortable,had it’s own entrance behind pub with key box (great idea) Pub was very friendly,food great, very good quality and choice Had an early start so they made me up a breakfast basket to take away all included Would recommend It’s certainly off the beaten track!!! A really old pub in a remote part of the Tamar Valley AONB with lots of character. The meal that we had was excellent and there was a good selection of wines to choose from. The accommodation was also excellent and way above what we were expecting for a B&B attached to a pub. The staff were very friendly and made us really welcome. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.

We stumbled upon this place by accident. What a great find! Quaint little village set in a tiny valley with a river running thru it. Pheasants scurrying about the daffodils. Beautiful. Nice room. Both dinner and breakfast were very good. The best sausages I’ve had since arriving in the UK. A great stay.

I expected something average but got something truely exceptional. I can say without doubt this was the most comfortable, clean, roomy, well maintained and beautifully renovated accommodation I have EVER stayed in. The staff were super friendly. The breakfast was exquisite. The pub itself is charming and the dinner menu full of local produce and the meal I had was delicious. I was worried about where to park the car in such a tiny village but there is a big car park at the back. Definitely recommend. 11 stars!

Beautiful spot and a lovely stretch of legs around the white cottage village. Some confusion over breakfast times with the landlord which got resolved but best to make it clear breakfast is not served until 9am if a business traveller this is too late. (i was asked if i stay in country pubs and i do 47 so far this year) Food was good quality i loved the chicken bites delicious. The room could do with a chair as you have to put luggage on the floor although the room is very small.

Nice rural location in Dartmoor village. Room nice but small. Cleanliness poor, spiders and webs in corners. Earliest breakfast time 9:00am is too late when you have plans for the day. TV too small, around 19" and smaller than regular computer monitor. No window other than skylight. Room lighting poor. No full length mirror, no shower mat. Toilet not flushing properly.

One of the comfiest beds I have stayed in lovely big shower. The food was magnificent.A lot of choice of local produce perfectly cooked and coped wonderfully with my allergies. Breakfast was lovely and all the staff were so friendly safe car park situated in lovely village with with beautiful dark skies for viewing the stars nice and peaceful we will be back

We had a lovely overnight stay at this inn. The room was great , very clean , quality fixtures and fittings. Bed very comfortable, quality bed linens. Spacious ensuite , plenty of hot water with good water pressure in the shower. Showe gel , shampoo and towels all provided. Matt & his team have a jewel here!! The Inn was so good we didn’t want to leave The area is a challenge if you are a nervy driver but I found it pretty easy when you embraced the local way of life The room was stunning & Huge! The shower was perfect & we were so comfortable in the biggest bed I have ever seen! A few cobwebs aside( we are in the countryside future guests!) Beautifully located in a valley & close to Dartmoor & Buckland Abbey we got out & about & there was so much to do & explore The meals in the Inn were excellent & well researched, loved the use of everything locally, & the best part of the stay was talking to Fiona & having a wonderful crafted breakfast freshly cooked with toast , butter and tea & coffee, no continental choices so embrace the cooked food Fiona was amazing & we loved her food and beautiful personality Thank you Matt, & the whole team & thank you Fiona for looking after us every morning!
