Judging by what we saw we don’t believe this Inn has been up kept for years. The appearance alone is not fit for purpose to be in the hospitality market. The so-called apartment we were assigned to is shockingly ill fitted. The grime around the shower tray and the window must have been there for years which seems being unnoticed by both visitors and proprietors. There aren’t any facilities to dry wet towels after use apart from a single hook behind the door. In the kitchenette there is an oven without any shelves without connection to electricity as far as we know as well as an absence of a kitchen sink. We were told that it was accommodation for the chef in the past! Therefore, there wasn’t any consideration to renovate it to be fit to welcome the visitors! All dilapidation should have been removed. On the first morning the lady who served us breakfast and being one of the family asked us whether everything is alright. Obviously, we had to tell her the truth. She was very annoyed with us stating that there hasn’t been any complaints from the past visitors and some happily come back yearly. On the second morning she told us if we were unhappy we could leave! Then I asked would we get the refund for the days we don’t use the facility, of course the answer was NO. In other words don’t like it just lump it. We could back our comments with photographs if required.

A delightful place to stay. Very comfortable and the food was great. The host and staff were very helpful and friendly and we would recommend it to all.

The best possible country pub in the prettiest of villages. Have stayed before and will surely be staying again. Great food and lovely staff.

Matt & his team have a jewel here!! The Inn was so good we didn’t want to leave The area is a challenge if you are a nervy driver but I found it pretty easy when you embraced the local way of life The room was stunning & Huge! The shower was perfect & we were so comfortable in the biggest bed I have ever seen! A few cobwebs aside( we are in the countryside future guests!) Beautifully located in a valley & close to Dartmoor & Buckland Abbey we got out & about & there was so much to do & explore The meals in the Inn were excellent & well researched, loved the use of everything locally, & the best part of the stay was talking to Fiona & having a wonderful crafted breakfast freshly cooked with toast , butter and tea & coffee, no continental choices so embrace the cooked food Fiona was amazing & we loved her food and beautiful personality Thank you Matt, & the whole team & thank you Fiona for looking after us every morning!
