Overall a good hotel for our overnight stay, staff attentive, two sets of steep stairs to get up to the bedrooms, (Maybe a problem for some) bedrooms clean & well equipped, shower ok but not a power shower and no grab rails which are needed. Good breakfast choices with well cooked using quality ingrediencies.

The welcome was very friendly. We were shown to the room up 2 flights of stairs. Good sized room with double bed ensuite. Bed was so comfortable. Ensuite shower was electric which worked fine but not as much water pressure I like but that's a personal thing. Ironing board with iron came in handy on the day of the wedding. The food in the restaurant was delicious as was the Guinness!!

Me and my partner loved this pub, the beer garden great for when the sun shining, food was lovely, breakfast was too, lovely cosy pub rooms we also cosy, a couple of walks around and also co-op shop within a miles walk, highly recommended and will be coming back :)

The room was very clean, a good size (could have taken a larger bed or twin beds - hint, hint! - easily). The bedrooms are up two flights of stairs. Shower was over the bath. It was quiet overnight even with the window open. Our breakfast choices were tasty and very good. We also had a late lunch/early dinner on arrival which was good. Staff were courteous and pleasant. There is ample free parking available. Within easy distance of Halifax, Hebden Bridge. Sowerby Bridge itself less than 10 minutes drive away. Haworth is reasonably close. Easy access to M62 with Manchester and Leeds not too far away if you’re looking to do a day trip. It is a good rate for b&b and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back for another o/n stay or to recommend to others.

Fantastic stay at the Malthouse last night…amazing outside bar, fantastic staff, great food, what else can I say??? I just wish I was clever enough to write my review in the form of ‘Rindecella (those who know, know 😉). Seriously though, great place to stay, great evening meal…and, after reading the reviews on how good breakfast was, it didn’t disappoint!!!! Thanks so much to the whole team for a brilliant day/evening/morning 🙌👏🙌

Staff were very friendly, and pub/hotel was a good location. Dining area was welcoming and comfortable. Food was good and the kitchen went out of its way to meet our needs. The radiator in our bedroom wasn't working, but the staff tried their very best to find a work-around, including providing portable heaters - they were very helpful in a difficult situation. The bedroom hadn't been thoroughly cleaned - it was dusty. However the bedding was spotless and the bed was comfortable. The shower area could benefit from refurbishment. Toiletries were provided, and a good supply of towels. There was good parking.

Stayed here as attending a family wedding in Stanisland, this hotel was perfect location with only being approximately 5 mins away in the car. The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly.

We were only there for one night but we were greeted with a smile taken to our room which was a lovely room, clean and tidy with on sweet, nice soft bed plenty of space and places to put your things, tea and coffee and the view from the window was fantastic, hoping to stay again in march next year.

A warm welcome, comfy room and spotlessly clean. The bathroom is a little dated but that’s in keeping with the age of the property. As usual in a double room (huge comfy bed) there was only one chair and we’d like to have two if we’re in the room for any length of time.

Really lovely stay. I was working nearby and a solo traveller. Felt very welcome and safe. Lauren was so friendly showed me to my room and even offered to carry my very heavy bag. Food very good had the fish and Chips all cooked fresh. Room very clean and had everything I needed very cosy. Although on a busy main road hardly heard the traffic. I would highly recommend

The room we had was very spacious and clean. We only had breakfast and that was cooked to order and very nice. The bar area had character and the staff were friendly and professional. I'd stay again.

Excellent second visit to the Malthouse. All staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially Andy ‘whose asking’. Quality food and drinks, room was perfect, comfy bed. Perfect location to visit the local sights around Calderdale and beyond. Highly recommend 👍

I've stayed at a few places in this area and this is currently the one I would recommend - it's very cosy, clean and tastefully decorated, the staff are friendly and helpful, plus the food/drink was very nice. Only very minor complaint is no biscuits with the tea and coffee making facilities in the room, you need a biscuit when you have a cup of tea!

Really lovely stay. I was working nearby and a solo traveller. Felt very welcome and safe. Lauren was so friendly showed me to my room and even offered to carry my very heavy bag. This was a first class stay, I cannot fault the room, bar, and staff. A big shout to Lee and Sarah who I thought were totally brilliant, nothing was too much trouble. I will be staying there again when I am next up in the area.

Wanted to stay somewhere with a rural charm, and this did not disappoint! Staff very friendly and helpful. We did the half board which offered great value. Proper pub food, reasonably priced and excellent quality. Same can be said about breakfast. Great location to explore the area and walks nearby. Only slight downside were that the walls were quite thin so you could hear movements from neighbouring rooms.

Stayed here as attending a family wedding in Stanisland, this hotel was perfect location with only being approximately 5 mins away in the car. The hotel was clean and the staff were extremely friendly.

We had a lovely overnight stay at The Malthouse starting with a delicious meal downstairs before retiring to our comfortable room. Breakfast the following morning was equally tasty. This made a great place to start to explore Yorkshire including The Piece Hall in Halifax, East Riddlesden Hall near Keighley and then on to Aysgarth Falls.

Excellent second visit to the Malthouse. All staff are very friendly and welcoming, especially Andy ‘whose asking’. Quality food and drinks, room was perfect, comfy bed. Perfect location to visit the local sights around Calderdale and beyond. Highly recommend 👍

Nice setting, and charming building. Rooms were nice, but common areas and entrance to rooms felt a little unloved. Staff were very helpful, especially with my delayed arrival.

Me and my partner loved this pub, the beer garden great for when the sun shining, food was lovely, breakfast was too, lovely cosy pub rooms we also cosy, a couple of walks around and also co-op shop within a miles walk, highly recommended and will be coming back :)

The room was very clean, a good size (could have taken a larger bed or twin beds - hint, hint! - easily). The bedrooms are up two flights of stairs. Shower was over the bath. It was quiet overnight even with the window open. Our breakfast choices were tasty and very good. We also had a late lunch/early dinner on arrival which was good. Staff were courteous and pleasant. There is ample free parking available. Within easy distance of Halifax, Hebden Bridge. Sowerby Bridge itself less than 10 minutes drive away. Haworth is reasonably close. Easy access to M62 with Manchester and Leeds not too far away if you’re looking to do a day trip. It is a good rate for b&b and we wouldn’t hesitate to come back for another o/n stay or to recommend to others.

Fantastic stay at the Malthouse last night…amazing outside bar, fantastic staff, great food, what else can I say??? I just wish I was clever enough to write my review in the form of ‘Rindecella (those who know, know 😉). Seriously though, great place to stay, great evening meal…and, after reading the reviews on how good breakfast was, it didn’t disappoint!!!! Thanks so much to the whole team for a brilliant day/evening/morning 🙌👏🙌

Really lovely stay. I was working nearby and a solo traveller. Felt very welcome and safe. Lauren was so friendly showed me to my room and even offered to carry my very heavy bag. Food very good had the fish and Chips all cooked fresh. Room very clean and had everything I needed very cosy. Although on a busy main road hardly heard the traffic. I would highly recommend

Second time we have stayed here. Ate in the evening and had breakfast. The staff were very good and friendly and the food was excellent. We actually stayed in the same room on both occasions, was like going down memory lane. Would definitely stay again, if in the area.

The hotel is easy to find and parking is easy. It is on a reasonably busy road made busier when we stayed by road closures. The view from our room was interesting because it was over nearby farmland. Service at meal time was excellent as was the quality of the food.

Staff were brilliant the food excellent, unfortunately it was just the room that could have been cleaner. We had a host of small spiders on the ceiling and a couple of wasps through a broken fan in the bathroom window. We could have also done with a table where the power sockets are to charge our devices as it was cramped by the kettle. Also the wash hand basin took an age to drain

Breakfast was ok Bacon lovely but I dont like a deep fried sausage. Not much for a continental breakfast no fruit or yougart only marmalade & honey no jams. Dinner was acceptable not z lot of choice in my opion. Stayed 2 nights road noise was noticable even with secondary glazing & the 2nd night the room next door very noisy until after 11pm

This place is fine, but not great. Whilst it has lots of character, the weak and unpredictable shower was a definite detractor for me, and the bed was oddly short so me feet were off the end. Rooms were well appointed, but a few dubious carpet stains made sure you knew they'd been occupied before.
