De kamer op zich is prima, maar het mist nét dat laatste stukje om er een echt lekker en comfortabel verblijf van te maken. Om te beginnen: het hotel heeft dus geen eigen wifi. Je bent aangewezen op de openbare “stadswifi”, die bij mij voortdurend wegviel en daardoor eigenlijk onbruikbaar was. Beetje jammer om dan wel met wifi te adverteren. Een router van een paar tientjes zou volgens mij al wonderen doen. 😉 Verder staan er plastic bekertjes op de kamer, wat toch een beetje een goedkoop hostelgevoel geeft. Ook geen flesjes water; terwijl zo’n flesje misschien 25 cent kost, maakt het qua gastvrijheid wel verschil. Dan nog een klein praktisch raadsel: de tissuebox staat bovenop de föhn geparkeerd, waardoor die regelmatig in de wasbak belandt. Niet helemaal over nagedacht. De kussens vond ik helaas matig tot slecht en er was behoorlijk veel geluid, wat voor een hotel natuurlijk niet ideaal is als je ook nog van plan bent om te slapen. Maar zeker niet alles is negatief. Het bijbehorende restaurant is prima en het personeel is echt vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij. Daarvoor absoluut complimenten! Kortom: de basis is goed en de mensen zijn top. Met een paar simpele en goedkope verbeteringen – eigen wifi, normale glazen, twee flesjes water en wat betere kussens – zou het verblijf echt een stuk beter zijn. Het zijn juist die kleine dingen die het verschil maken.

A good location in Nuenen. We had to call and contact the night-porter as we arrived just after 9pm, this was not on the listing on hotels.com and said if arriving after midnight to contact the property. The member of staff arrived very quickly and was helpful to check us in and allowed us to park our motorbike in the courtyard. The bath was dirty and required cleaning before using and there were body hairs in the bathroom. The suite Vincent, is a great room, great size but could do with an update it also did not fully reflect the photos (different lights, no carpet), it looked very tired in real life. The listing said views of the park, these were minimal and had more views of the outdoor seating area and also looked over to the window of the room next door which meant shutting the blinds most of the time. The room and bathroom are linked with no toilet which is fine for some people and was for us for one night but would not be ok for all people, maybe this could be wrote in the listing, especially as the man called it the ‘honeymoon’ suite, I can’t think of anything less romantic! When checking in late we had no access to brochures of things to do in the local area.

Read quite a few negative reviews, but have to say we enjoyed our two night stay in the Vincent Suite. Lovely location, and the Suite was well appointed. Airco was a good addition, given the recent heat. Breakfast was plentiful too. If there was anything to report, is that there was no door between bathroom and bedroom. Also, at the time of booking I was sure I had filtered on Accommodation with breakfast, but on checking in, the price I expected to pay was only for the Accommodation. I had to pay extra for breakfast.
