Ustedalen Hotel Geilo

We had a suite in building A. Very spacious and clean, kitchen with all facilities and great view on the lake. Bit dissapointing that you need to pay extra for use of swinmming pool and gym .

Kanonbra opphold. Første gang i Geilo, på snowboardtur med sønner. Alt var perfekt tilrettelagt, med heiskortmaskin i lobby, gratis shuttlebuss til skianlegg rett utenfor døren, låsbart oppbevaringsrom for brett, gratis garasjeparkering, fantastisk mat på hotellet, diger leilighet med kjøkken og to bad, flott utsikt og kjempegode senger. 3 meget fornøyde karer hadde en topp helg i Geilo!

2 gangen vi legger oss inn på ustedalen på vei til Bergen! Skal jeg til Bergen igjen skal jeg definitivt hitt. Det eneste som trakk litt ned for egen del er at bassenget var kaldt! Men ungene fikk iallefall kjølt seg ned og lekt.

We were in building D in a 2 bedroom apartment on the ground floor. I thought the pictures made it look fresher and newer than it appeared in reality, but everything was exactly as described and it was a really economical option in an otherwise expensive resort. The kitchen had a dishwasher and enough crockery/pans but no baking trays for the oven, we had to use the grill pan. Massive fridge/freezer which was great. Individual temperature controls for the rooms which worked well. We found around 7/8pm after everyone had had a day on the slopes, there was not much hot water, but if you timed it right shower was fine. We made use of the hotel swimming pool a couple of nights but it was cool by uk standards. Lovely sauna afterward though! We had breakfast one day which was plentiful and loads of choice, but too expensive to repeat for 4 of us! We did enjoy it though. Make sure to book linen in advance if you are flying and need the luggage space, the hotel email worked fine for this. The cost for 4 sets was very reasonable. On the last night we ventured into the hotel bar for a game of shuffleboard but it seemed you had to be the favoured few to get a spot! We waited for 3 rounds of people and got a less than sympathetic response when I mentioned this to the staff! Otherwise they were fine. The ski bus goes from right outside and takes you to Slaatta or town. We arrived by train and it was about 15-20 mins walk from the station. There is a good taxi company, Geilo taxi.

Stor og flott leilighet, rent og ryddig. Passe basseng for barn, sentralt og kort vei til det vi skulle. Bor gjerne her igjen :)

Fine leiligheter, gode senger og et romslig kjøkken. Det er parkering i kjeller slik at en slipper å parkere ute. Dette er andre gang vi bor her. Kan anbefales.

Väldigt fin och ljus lägenhet. Det fanns allt man behöver i köket. Man får läsa noga innan man bokar för att det finns olika typ av lägengeter och rum att välja på. Vi fick lägenhet med bergutsikt och det ingick handukar och sängkläder. Poolen kostar 50kr per person

Fin leilighet, god størrelse. Velutstyrt. Eneste problem var veldig dårlig internett-forbindelse. Og så synes jeg det er unødvendig å ta betalt for bruk av svømmebassenget, da det er såpass lite og har dårlige garderobefasiliteter. Stort pluss med parkering i garasje og heis rett opp til leilighet. Alt i alt,veldig bra opphold.

Lite basseseng, gammelt/slitt hotell, liten frokost, tok betalt for alt ekstra som f. Eks. Bading, shuffleboard

Fantastisk value for money, vi kom i lavsesong som nok påvirket prisene, og ble attpåtil oppgradert (takk). Alt gullende rent, gullbra opplegg - hadde med sengetøy&håndkler selv, og betalte mindre enn et kjipt stabbursrom på Haukeliseter (uten bad, og det medlemspris til tross). Ekstra stjerne for med svømmebasseng og badstue (koster 50kr/snute)

Renholdet var ikke bra, var noe av det første som møtte oss me rommet

we stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and had a good experience so we decided to come back again - this time we booked an apartment (there was no rooms available at the hotel). Unfortunately, this time the experience was totally different. we we're greeted by super indifferent receptionist that told us that the room comes without any towels and linen so we had to rent 2 sets for 200NOK, and this, I must say, surprised my a lot as I travel a lot and it's the first time I encountere such phenomenon... the apartment seemed nice at first, as described, but later we found out dirty stains on the sofa, the entire floor was dusty. noise isolation was poor so we heard a lot of noise from nearby noisy kids... and worse of all the heating system barely warmed the cold room (-7C outside). the next day we complained to the receptionist, another colleague this time, about the noise and faulty heating and he said that there's nothing he can do about it but he offered another apartment - a better, bigger one. and guess what?! the apartment was even colder, without a proper working heating system... we didn’t bother to complain once again since nothing will change...

I recently stayed at Ustedalen Hotel and found the apartment to be clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. The apartment itself was well-maintained, offering a pleasant and relaxing environment during my stay. However, I encountered some challenges with the hotel’s staff. On a few occasions, I received conflicting directions and advice, which caused confusion. It seemed that the staff were not very familiar with the local area and were not particularly eager to assist when I sought help. This lack of support made it a bit difficult to get the information I needed for navigating the area. Additionally, the pathways around the hotel were extremely icy, making them hazardous to walk on. With temperatures rising to 4°C on two days, it would have been an ideal opportunity to clear the ice and ensure safer conditions for guests. The swimming pool also did not meet expectations. The water was cloudy, and there was a strong, unpleasant smell, which led me to question the pool’s cleanliness. Furthermore, basic amenities like hairdryers and lockers were missing, which would have made the experience more convenient and comfortable. While the apartment was great, I hope the hotel can improve in these areas, particularly with staff responsiveness, pathway safety, and pool maintenance. I’m sure these changes would significantly enhance the overall guest experience.

현장에 도착했을때 침대시트와 수건을 따로 지불 해야 이용할 수 있다는 사실을 알았다. 인당 100크로나… 미리 안내사항이 나와있었다면 집에서 가져갔거나 다른 호텔을 예약했을것이다. 여기는 호텔이라기 보다는 서비스로 봤을때 Cabin or Hytta의 개념으로 봐야한다. 헬스장, 수영장 등 부대시설 이용하려면 물론 추가 비용. 아침도 한사람당 200크로나. 그러나 방에 부엌과 모든 조리 도구가 있으므로 장 봐다가 직접 해먹어도 좋을 것같다. 그리고 이불에 머리카락이 몇가닥, 욕실에도 머리카락 몇가닥이 있었다. 그냥 내가 치웠다. 퇴실시, 시트 모두 직접 겉어 내야 하고 쓰레기도 모아서 문앞에 내놓아야 한다. I wouldn’t say this is a Hotel but Hytta. 하루당 숙박비가 그렇게 저렴 한것도 아닌데, 그점은 실망스러웠다. 좋았던건 바깥으로 보이는 풍경~~뷰가 좋았다 겨울에 오면 스키장뷰 ㅋ자연, 산, 말이 보이는

Det kunne vart bedre vasket. Støvete som tusan. Varmekabler på stue fungerte ikke

Hyggelig personale, ren leilighet, perfekt for 2 voksne og en ungdomsgjeng:) kjempefin utsikt og fin beliggenhet.

Appartement très propre, bien équipé, spacieux avec une magnifique vue.

Leilighetene er veldig fine, betjeningen også, men helheten ble dessverre dårligere av at de ikke har air condition i leilighetene. Ikke engang de store og beste leilighetene har dette! Vi kokte - 30 grader både ute og inne.. Her kan vi ikke reise igjen på sommerstid.

Séjour d'une nuit, l'appartement est très bien. Une mauvaise surprise en apprenant que le linge de lit n'était pas compris (100 NOK par personne). Déception pour la vue car côté route + voie ferrée. Du coup, assez bruyant la nuit et le matin.

Decent hotel, good restaurant, friendly staff and breakfast was alright. The sauna was a plus. The rooms weren’t up to standards, though. I booked a double room, but it turned out they only have twin rooms. Beds were poor and the rooms were ill equipped. In stead of somewhere to sit down or somewhere to keep your clothes, the room was equipped with a dish washer and a worktop. If it was a fully functioning kitchen I could see the point. Turns out, it was not quite a hotel room and not quite an apartment. I don’t recommend staying here.

Smala sängar. 80cm? Golven såg smustiga ut, Mycket bra parkering inomhus. Bra frukost,

Fantastiskt att ha ett parkeringsgarage under hotellet! Bäst hittills, tog hissen direkt till lägenheten. Rent och snyggt och hade allt som behövdes. Det enda som drog ner betyget var ljudet från fläktsystemet som dånade i lägenheten hela natten

Flotte store leiligheter , hyggelige ansatte i tesepsjonen. Skibuss like ved , kort vei til sentrum. Storfornøyd !

櫃檯服務人員太少，無法正確告訴我們住宿房間，讓我們半小時奔波在路上，無法找到房間。最後，櫃檯人員才親自帶領找到。已經非常疲倦…

Vi fick först vänta ca 1 1/2 timme på att få vårt rum färdigstädat och fick ingen kompensation för detta (skulle kunna checka in kl 15, men vi fick vänta till 16.30). Vi hade beställt rum med bergsutsik, vilket vi i och för sig hade - men det enda vi såg var järnvägen som gick precis utanför lägenheten. Var störande på natten, så lägenheten var varm och vi behövde ha fönster öppna. Bilderna på hemsidan var missvisande och jag kunde inte läsa mig till detta innan - viljet var en besvikelse. Lägenheten var ljus, men lite sliten. Soffan var ljus, med många fläckar och det var lite märken på väggarna, annars var lägenheten fräsch. Hotellets restaurang hade väldigt vacker utsikt och god mat, servicen varierade dock från kväll till kväll.

Det betaler sig at betale for udsigt over vandet. Helt fantastisk. Dejlig lejlighed tæt på centrum.

Väldigt bekvämt lägenhetshotell med liften nära till fina Geilo backarna. Lagom promenadavstånd till affärer och restauranger

Apartamento amplo e bem iluminado. Cozinha equipada. Não tem armários, o que pode atrapalhar numa estadia prolongada. Ao lado das pistas de esqui. Tem bom café da manhã e restaurante para o jantar.

Helt som beskrevet. Mye lyd frå tog og ulikt vedlikeholds arbeid utenfor. Totalt sett en bra opplevelse.

I was pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a large apartment with a spectacular view of the valley and the river. There’s an extensive network of paths easily accessible from the hotel. It is an easy walk into town and the train station.

Dejligt centralt hotel, lige ud ti ski bus så man hurtigt kom på pisten.

Rigtig god udsigt og god placering. God plads til 6 voksne og 1 baby.

Flotte leilegheiter i ulik storleik og med plass til mange. Kan lage mat sjølv, eller kjøpe på hotellet. Ligg sentralt på Geilo med kort spasertur til sentrum.

Hadde en natt i leilighet med to soverom. Leiligheten var helt topp med alt vi trengte og gode senger, men veldig lytt. Restauranten var knallbra!! Området i seg selv er nære sentrum. Frokosten på hotellet var veldig dårlig dessverre. Dårlig utvalg og kvalitet så som så. Pluss var at vi slapp å betale for barn under 5 år. Personalet på hotellet var hyggelig og imøtekommende.

Helt greit. Var en plass å sove. God middag med rause porsjoner. Frokosten var sparsommelig

Fint hotel med drift m dejligt værelse. Fin restaurent med god mad. Dejlig morgenmadsbuffet.

Tolle Lage im Hochland von Norwegen mit Blick auf den Fjord. Personal ganz besonders freundlich und bemüht. Sowohl Abendessen a la carte, als auch Frühstücksbuffet waren von exzellenter Qualität. Insgesamt gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis.

Rommene holder grei standard og er romslige. Godt med parkeringsplasser på hotellet. Hotellets restaurant serverer veldig god, dog godt priset mat. Gangavstand til Geilo sentrum. Dette var vårt andre opphold på hotellet og synes fremdeles det er et godt alternativ hvis man skal til Geilo

God frokost og helt nydelig middag

First of all Gailo during summer is a major turist trap, everything cost money and way too much and the service isn’t great either. Ustedalen Hotell Geilo was unfortunately in line with the rest of Geilo, firstly they hadn’t made our reservation correctly so we didn’t have a room, and it seemed only by luck that they could get us a room. Because we stayed in the apartments the sheets for our stay cost extra, using the pool ekstra, the breakfast buffet was below mediocre and cost extra, takeout from the restaurant not allowed even though it was described as an option in the brochure. Our recommendation is to just avoid going to Geilo and go somewhere else in this breathtaking country.

Alles was redelijk in orde. De bedden zijn wat smal. We hadden meer verwacht van het ontbijt. Het oog wat simpel en er werd traag aangevuld. Niettemin een fijne plek om te zijn. Geilo heeft in de zomer weinig te bieden.

Good location, good service, good buffel breakfast.
