Fine for a one night stay, especially for the price and breakfast included. Clean but a bit run down as the bottom of the bathroom door was peeling, holes in carpet. I was mainly disappointed from a customer service standpoint. We were staying in order to be in town for a visitation then next day funeral for my mother in law. I called to ask if we could possibly check in a couple hours early, so we could get ready. The person who answered very frankly told me they were fully booked (we saw rooms available on hotels.com) and couldn't possibly turn over a room early. I would have paid a fee, if she had offered, but I didn't even get a simple "sorry for your loss" or any interest at all in being helpful.

The front desk staff was amazing. We had an issue (nothing to do with our stay) and she helped us to resolve it. The room was very clean. The reason I did not give this a five star is the beds are becoming a little uncomfortable. We travel to Alton regularly and stay at Best Western. We have noticed the decline in the beds and pillows. The staff has always been wonderful.
