This hotel is old are worn out. The furniture in my room looked like it was purchased from a thrift store or the Salvation Army. The fixtures in the sink area looked like the ones my parents had in their house back in the 1970's. The bathtub shows signs of old age. My bed had a large piece of plastic between the box spring and the mattress; subsequently, it made noise when I got into or out of bed. I was given shampoo/conditioner in packets the size of ketchup packets you get from McDonald's. My door didn't have a second lock on it.

The hotel was old-looking and definitely in need of a remodel. The rooms looked not very clean. The place is located a few minutes from downtown Lake Geneva, that is probably the only good thing. Also, there is only one lock on the door. The rooms smelled inside, and it was not a nice smell. I definitely would not stay there again.

John and His Staff and The Facilities are TOP NOTCH It is the ONLY place I will stay in Lake Geneva. we operate Cigar Oasis at Alpine Valley Music Theatre and Country Thunder Festivals for the last 20 years, and Without John and The Chateau Royale staff and facilities making us feel like we are at home...we would be sailors lost at Sea !

Motel is OLD. Beds were comfy, but fixtures were old. Air conditioner was almost impossible to control, but fairly quiet. Bathtub was slippery for older people. Refrigerator was so noisy (couldn't sleep) until it was unplugged: then leaked on floor. Toilet was too low and seat was loose. Bathroom fan was very noisy. Not worth the money.

Pool was empty although the pictures of the inn show a water-filled inviting pool. The owners/investors should commit to major cleaning and upgrading (beyond what room service cleaning can provide). The office managers were very personable and helpful.

While this is an older hotel, we have got a very nice, clean room, with a great view of a green and calming backyard from the balcony where there were 2 chairs. The room had a laminate floors, TV, small fridge, microwave, a table with 2 chairs and a nightstand next to bed. The beds were in a very good condition and clean. Staff was very nice and accommodating to anything we asked. We were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel that is located also very close to the center of Lake Geneva city. There was plenty of free parking outside of hotel.

So to be honest it was very clean and staff is very friendly. On the flip side the building is very old, the pool was drained and was not made aware of, no ice machine or vending machines. It did have a very small frig and microwave but no coffee. Coffee was available in lobby in the morning but no breakfast of any kind so for the price it should have had more amenities. Rub handle is hard to pull out and hard to adjust hit cold due to it spinning on the fixture

Cozy, clean place polite stuff , very helpful. Nothing bothers one here, it’s the perfect place for a vacation. Acceptable price too. I recommend any one coming to Lake Geneva on a budget but also in need of healing, mental health or just to escape the routine , stress of the big city . Ideas for improvement Maybe inside the closet (under TV) a good wash insisting on the corners then a moisturizer wood cleaner /oil (Mr. Clean Lemon Liquid or Pine Sol) smell good too.. It gives one confidence it’s clean when putting clothing articles . Other than that LOVED this hotel. It’s the perfect representation of the Midwest Nice.

This property is part hotel part long stay housing. The man working at night was friendly and told me I was getting such a great room. It seemed okay at night; at least the sheets seemed clean. Mattress was warm in several spots, the room was so dusty, dirty toilet, hair clippings in sink, walls have food specs on them. There was a bottle cap on floor (not mine), clothing tags on floor. Crumbs in drawers, the kitchenette sink had crusted on food

couldn’t ask for more for the price, it’s very clean and tidy. its about an 11 minute walk to downtown which was great. the front desk workers are always so friendly and informative. we stay here everytime we come to lake geneva and will continue to come :) love this place

Great retro vibe. Rooms were clean and decor fun. Staff was amazing! We travelled with friends and family, 3 rooms total for Winterfest. Each room had different decor , older sure, but clean and neat! Location excellent for walking downtown to festivities. Price was right! We will stay again.

No attendant at 11pm. I did not get a room. I called a number a permanent resident offered. Ruined the night. Had to spend more than double on alternative hotel. Not happy

Pool was empty although the pictures of the inn show a water-filled inviting pool. The owners/investors should commit to major cleaning and upgrading (beyond what room service cleaning can provide). The office managers were very personable and helpful.

Cozy, clean place polite stuff , very helpful. Nothing bothers one here, it’s the perfect place for a vacation. Acceptable price too. I recommend any one coming to Lake Geneva on a budget but also in need of healing, mental health or just to escape the routine , stress of the big city . Ideas for improvement Maybe inside the closet (under TV) a good wash insisting on the corners then a moisturizer wood cleaner /oil (Mr. Clean Lemon Liquid or Pine Sol) smell good too.. It gives one confidence it’s clean when putting clothing articles . Other than that LOVED this hotel. It’s the perfect representation of the Midwest Nice.

While this is an older hotel, we have got a very nice, clean room, with a great view of a green and calming backyard from the balcony where there were 2 chairs. The room had a laminate floors, TV, small fridge, microwave, a table with 2 chairs and a nightstand next to bed. The beds were in a very good condition and clean. Staff was very nice and accommodating to anything we asked. We were very satisfied with our stay in this hotel that is located also very close to the center of Lake Geneva city. There was plenty of free parking outside of hotel.

couldn’t ask for more for the price, it’s very clean and tidy. its about an 11 minute walk to downtown which was great. the front desk workers are always so friendly and informative. we stay here everytime we come to lake geneva and will continue to come :) love this place

The hotel was old-looking and definitely in need of a remodel. The rooms looked not very clean. The place is located a few minutes from downtown Lake Geneva, that is probably the only good thing. Also, there is only one lock on the door. The rooms smelled inside, and it was not a nice smell. I definitely would not stay there again.

Great retro vibe. Rooms were clean and decor fun. Staff was amazing! We travelled with friends and family, 3 rooms total for Winterfest. Each room had different decor , older sure, but clean and neat! Location excellent for walking downtown to festivities. Price was right! We will stay again.

They are doing a fantastic job for being family owned! Doing their very best getting book with the festivals coming up and everything! The rooms were all clean, the staff and managed was nice and helpful. Whenever I come back down, I’ll definitely be staying here again. It’s in a very convenient spot, not too far at all from Walmart if you need things, restaurants, their museum in town and the public beach!

So to be honest it was very clean and staff is very friendly. On the flip side the building is very old, the pool was drained and was not made aware of, no ice machine or vending machines. It did have a very small frig and microwave but no coffee. Coffee was available in lobby in the morning but no breakfast of any kind so for the price it should have had more amenities. Rub handle is hard to pull out and hard to adjust hit cold due to it spinning on the fixture

Cons: Not a good spot for single travelers. There was only a knob lock on the door. Lighting was not great. Pillows were pretty lame. Two of the interior doors had been damaged. The second toilet ran constantly. No cups were provided in the bathrooms. Although we had a ‘suite’ the second room did not have a pullout couch, just a sofa. Pros: it was affordable. Staff were pleasant. Parking was essy.

The pool promised on the website was not to be. The room? Broken furniture, broken bathroom door, broken shower, broken outlet... None of the pictures online seemed honest -- this place is on its last legs. I'd give it 1 star but it's walkable from town and the front desk refunded our second night when we bailed early because the hotel is so bad.

It was a very basic hotel but we weren't looking for anything fancy. Just a good place to sleep. Beds were comfy, air worked very well. Staff very helpful with suggestions of places to eat, attractions. If you are ever in Lake Geneva and looking for a cheap, awesome food Olympic family restaurant downtown

This is a nice place to stay.staff are great people very helpful for what is going on in the community. My only complaint is the swimming pool was not available.

I returned at 11 PM, there were nobody at the front desk, there is no telephone number for an emergency.. I could not get in to my room, I had to look other hotel and pay extra nigth.. terrible experience.. too dirty and poorly maintained
