Hampton Inn & Suites Baton Rouge/Port Allen

I have been coming x 1 per year to a local seminar and have never had any issues staying at this location. This year seemed to be different as the hotel suddenly has lots of age related issues. The room 421 that I was given had an adjoining inside door (which in itself is not a problem) however, the bolt on my side did not work (just spins) - only the flip latch for safety! Being a woman staying alone that in itself was concerning. The bathroom had long black hair all over the floor and in the tub mildew on tub surround and all the metal surfaces were extremely rusted. The bed linens were quite aged and there were dried blood spots on the sheets. I changed to the other bed and it was better. The room was quite loud and 3-4 times throughout the night I was awakened with a loud slamming noise within an 8 hour time period, each time waking me with a sudden jolt. Not great for a restful sleep. Upon checkin, I tried to prepare a cup of hot tea downstairs before bed. The water was barely warm and would not even steep a tea bag, I tried again the next morning at checkout and the water was still just lukewarm at 6:30 am. You would think that they would have started out with fresh water in am when making morning coffee. The hot breakfast was extremely limited and not nearly what everyone is accustomed to with Hampton Inns. The best items were the sealed yogurt, milk in cartons and fresh fruit. Overall I was disappointed with this location.

A hidden gem in the choices of hotels to choose from in and around Baton Rouge. The hotel was close by the stadium. At the present moment, they are undergoing some upgrades on the outside walls and it looks great. In my opinion, this hotel operates like any 5 star hotel, however, this hotel keeps its nightly rates for stays at a minimum. Thank you Hampton Inn and Suites of Baton Rouge/Port Allen. Room was very clean, comfortable, sound proof walls and free breakfast .Everything and more that you could ask for in a hotel room. We appreciate the free parking these days as this is the one thing that seems hard to find.

The location is convenient right off the highway, well lit parking lot, rooms are clean. It was exactly what I was looking for

Good location from downtown Baton Rouge. Traffic was an issue certain times of the day, but that was unavoidable. Very busy area. Not a whole lot of food choices right by the hotel but we were able to find some nice places not too far away, in Port Allen. Our room was very nice & spacious. The fan in the bathroom over the commode made a weird buzzing sound while seated and the air conditioner was kinda loud, but other than that, it was a great room. The ice machine on our floor wasn’t working, so had to go to another floor to get ice. One of the elevators broke down, so only one working. Overall, it’s a decent property. There is a pool but wasn’t able to use much due to the weather. Could use some updates around the pool area, not a very attractive entrance to it. It was a reasonable price, so would recommend.

It was so nice! I would like to say though the pool was closed and that was a bumber but everything else was great! The breakfast there was Amazing!

Check in was very easy. I believe her name was Chole(she likes pickled quail eggs) that checked us in, very sweet and personable. Only complaint was ice machine didn't work on our floor. My son had left 2 of his school bags in the room by accident. I called to check and they went right to our room and put them at the front desk for us to pick up. Also, didn't get her name (older lady with gray hair), but she worked breakfast and the hot water dispenser had luke warm water. I brought it to her attention and she fixed me up with some hot water for my morning tea. All in all a great experience and stay

Pool was nice. Laundry was convenient for us. Refrigerator did not get cold enough, told staff and no one came to check it. Room was not vacuumed in the 5 day stay.

No overhead smoking area.

Pool is very small and in the rear of the hotel. Area around hotel is a heavy truckers area with semis parked in every direction in and around hotel. Staff is very friendly and hotel is modern and clean.

I've stayed here several times. I visit the west side of the river several times a year and this hotel is conveniently located to everything in West BR. It also offers easy access to the bridge to get into the city. Check ahead for the traffic though, there is an alternate bridge if the interstate bridge is backed up. The hotel is very clean and well kept. My kids love the pool. The staff is amazing and remembers us when we come back to stay. There's coffee in the lobby at almost any hour of the day - I've come down late at night and it was still freshly made. Lots of breakfast options. I have picky eaters and there is something that each of them will eat. We'll continue to stay here, we really enjoy their hospitality.

Carpet seems to need deep cleaning. Wouldn't walk barefoot on it. Slight smell. Holes in mattress pad. Love the pillows and breakfast.

When you go to bed and wake up the next morning only to realize the bedding you slept on had gross yellow stains on sheets, and then upon further inspection, pillows under pillow cases had sweat etc. stains on the pillows, let’s just say one word sums it up…. Disgusting! The staff were friendly and apologetic, and thanked me for bringing issues to their attention, and assured me they would address the issues. The facility/ Hotel itself looked fairly clean in lobby & kitchen and food was good, but the sheets and pillows ruined mine and my Family’s stay here

The shower was full of what looked like pubic hairs. There was so much hair that we couldn’t even rinse it out causing the water not to drain. Then we pulled back the covers and there were also a few hairs. We went to the front desk, asked for a refund and just drove home. It was late and we were tired but there was no way I was staying there. We were very disappointed. I stayed at this hotel years ago and had no issues.

Property was conveniently near River center and I10 hwy. Room was clean. Only issue was room had a weird smell. Think A/C unit was causing the odor. Carpet needed cleaning. But not bad. Might have been the smell too. But would stay again.

The first room did not have working lamps and it did not appear that clean. The second room was a bit better, but the wifi was slow I couldn’t get any streaming app to work on the television, there was a dirty ring around the base of the toilet, the tub was dirty and the overall state of the room was not up to par. It was disappointing but my options were limited because of the holiday. There was also a dog barking all night and doors slamming. It was not a peaceful experience.

Bedroom and bathroom disgusting. Smelled like feet. Stains ALL over the walls in the bathroom. Toilet had a ring in it where the water had been sitting/not been cleaned. This is not your typical “Hampton Inn”

Large stain on carpet, hair left on edge of tub, smell of urine when heat came on. Overall, it needs some repairs to rooms.

I "treated" my daughter to a Hampton stay and told her she would be very impressed. We usually stay at a budget hotel half the price. While the Hampton beds were, as usual, the most comfortable beds in the industry, the rest of the room was mediocre, at best. The latch on the closet was broken, preventing it from closing completely. There was a crack in the bathtub surround. The tub caulk was in bad shape and showing mild signs of mold where it was lacking. The shower, while nice and hot, did not have a strong enough spray on any of the settings to effectively rinse shampoo from my daughter's long hair. Surprisingly, in this day of digital everything, there wasn't a single USB port in the entire room. Even our usual budget choice has USB ports in the lamps. Hampton, while more expensive, has historically been my favorite brand. However, this stay did not tempt me to return to the brand from my typical budget choice.

The room was clean and the bed were very comfortable. However, the room need updating. The common spaces were lovely and the staff was very helpful.

It was an.ok stay. Ac was noisy. Shade wouldnt close so light shined in room all time. Staff was nice. All in all good stay

The tv was not a smart tv and I had issues with it. Being able to watch tv was a big part of my stay, I was disappointed in the tv.

Shower was very weak. Low water pressure Breakfast was good the first day, the second morning was terrible. Room was as expected for the price.

The breakfast menu was limited compared to other Hampton Inn locations. The room and bathroom needed updating.

I was very pleased with this hotel. It was clean, spacious, and quiet. The customer service was great. There was a little problem with billing but the morning desk person fixed it immediately. Breakfast was good as well

Front desk was not available by phone, I had to go down to the lobby for services, and information. The room needs plenty of renovations and a face lift now. The tub was cracked, not a clean look, the lamp shades didn't fit the lamp. I've been to better Hampton properties then that, very disappointed.

We were on vacation and miss the event we paid for to attend Saturday morning due to the girl having no towels at all! I never been thru anything this bad! My mother who is elderly couldn’t bath until afternoon and we miss the whole purpose of our trip! The clerk was extremely rude when we asked about towels and told us to go buy some! I will never stay there again

Great time starting and finishing my weekend at the hotel. The staff was amazing and very friendly. They took care of any and all my needs. Would definitely stay here again!

Unfortunately, I hoped this Hampton was going to be clean and a good breakfast…I was mistaken. The staff at the front desk the first night was polite but unfortunately the other staff at the front desk were yelling profanities. The room we had on the 4th floor was hot and sticky. No air was turned on until after we arrived. It was 95 degrees outside. Breakfast was NASTY the juice machine was out and the woman running breakfast had a pitcher of juice and she was dumping used cups of juice back in it. She also just watched as people dumped out chunky milk they were pulling from the fridge. Also, our room was not very clean, used bars of soap in the shower.

We have stayed at a lot of Hampton Inns and normally have the same kind of room, etc. this time the water pressure was extremely low, employees behind the desk in the evening were not friendly. The sheets on one bed smelled dirty and we had to request all new towels due to uncleanliness. The beds were comfortable and breakfast was normal Hampton Inn standard.

Got a phone call after 3 o’clock saying my room was canceled because I booked with a third-party, there were no other places available so we were stuck to get back on the road, thanks a lot

This is a great hotel. It’s in a good quiet neighborhood. Everything about it was a 10. Easy check in and the beds were so comfortable. The breakfast was great from eggs and sausage to waffles toast, fruit and cereal. The breakfast area is one of the nicest I have seen. Will definitely stay here again.

Nothing really unique. Breakfast was a nice variety. Location is great for quick trips into Baton Rouge

Breakfast had a variety of items and was warm and ready. Room was clean but the floor seemed sticky.

Very nice hotel. Great breakfast.

Great value. Clean. Bed and pillows were great. Bathroom was clean. Shower head was good. TV was a large LG model with a great picture. Plenty of electrical outlets around the bed for two CPAP users. Coffee was good. Breakfast was good. Will stay here again.

This is a really comfortable room and has the most delicious breakfast that is included. Definitely a winner!

Definitely need to be updated. Dim lights in room and could be cleaner. Breakfast was horrible. Bugs flying around pineapples, water down coffee. Thankful for the delicious waffles.
