The White Hart Inn by Greene King Inns

Old coaching inn in the middle of Buckingham, so the accommodation layout is quirky but perfectly adequate. The bar area is very well laid out with refurbished, different sections for sitting/eating and a massive area for watching sport or playing pub games, plus an outside area. Excellent service and very friendly hosts. Great for an overnight stop and I expect will be fun when the Euros are on !

Nice rooms and very quiet even with a busy pub below. Pub is great with several options for drink and food. Surrounding area is very accessible with plenty of options for anything you could possibly need.

Recognising you get what you pay for, i scored this hotel as average. The rooms and corridors are very tired and in need of a major overhaul. No reflection on the staff, but Green King need to decide if they want to keep this place as it is not a great advertisement for them in its current condition. Parking was a bit of an issue as well.

Dance night stopover, weather was particularly bad and there was no parking near to the hotel which is not good.

It was very busy as there for a conference. Disappointed to discover the car park was public and no spaces when we arrived and no easy to find places to park nearby. Otherwise our stay was pleasant enough

Rooms were nicely decorated and the bathroom was well laid out, clean and fresh. The staff were great, very helpful. . Will definitely be goinng back soon.

The hotel and room were lovely. It wasn't obvious where the car park was, but a quick phone call sorted that. We ordered a snack at the bar and were disappointed with the quality of the "pulled pork" but the replacement was very nice. All in all, a very good stay

Arrived early and managed to get a space in the car park, one of our rooms was ready which was great. The other room was ready a little later but still earlier than check-in time. Check was smooth and straightforward, don't forget to put reg no. in the machine at check-in desk. We sat outside and ordered food and drinks and had a lovely day. Our room was at the front overlooking the street which only became an issue at closing time, when everyone left but seemed to hang around outside talking etc. Not the pub/hotel's fault so would look to be in a different room next time. Shower was good, hot water and the room clean and comfortable. Can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have any as we had a relatively early lunch gathering to attend. Would stay again.

Car park too small for an evening arrival

We booked 3 rooms here for family due to low price and location, perfect to walk anywhere in the Village of Buckingham. The rooms were distressed, some plumbing issues, uneven floors, old musty carpet but the beds were okay and they had air conditioners in the room, plus coffee/tea kettle and a hair dryer. I understand that it’s an old building but it could be updated and better maintained but then of course, the price would be higher. The rooms are all above a massive pub and restaurant, so it gave us a great meeting place each day with the family. On Saturday night, the pub is packed with a younger crowd and loud music, but you can’t hear it in the rooms we were in. Lots of small staircases and hallways to get to the rooms which are on 3 levels. The staff, especially the man running the hotel reception and restaurant and the younger man with blond hair behind the bar were especially gracious and helpful. For the Sunday Roast, we had a table of 8 reserved yet when we sat down, found they only had 2 portions left. I failed to read the small print, while supplies last. The two men I mentioned earlier worked with us and spoke with the chef who was willing to prepare more if we were willing to wait. Thank you, Chef! So it all worked out. So basically, the room is what you pay for, inexpensive, but has air conditioning which is rare. The staff are helpful and do what they can to accommodate you, the pub is huge with many places and levels to sit, and the location is perfect!

Booked this hotel based on the pictures, they show a lovely place l, but in reality the rooms are tired and damp on the walls and the bathroom has mould on the tiles. Its needs a make over its very dated. However the money reflected that we paid. I was just expecting more based on the pictures. Its really a pub not a hotel. The bar area is nice but theres an overkill of bouncers on a weekend. Would i stay again probably. The staff are great and you get what you pay for.

I’m afraid the toilet didn’t flush in my room (room 7) and the entire bathroom stank of stale urine. I cleaned the floor but the smell remained and could be smelled in the room too. Most unpleasant.

The team at the White Hart at absolutely fabulous shame that the hotel itself could not live up to these high standards as the hotel accommodation areas including the rooms are in desperate need of refurbishment and upgrading. The team exceeded my expectations and going that extra mile to make my stay the best that it could be; a true credit to the business. This is a building of some age and past grandeur yet this has now been lost, the hotel this is very run down and showing the wear and tear of decades without the upkeep it requires. The housekeeping standards are high yet this is let down by the poor décor and maintenance including more room lighting and stained seating Upgrade the rooms and I would be more than happy to stay again but not in the current state.

The rooms and bedding are very clean, the bed comfortable. No noise from the nearby road, just squeaky floorboards. Food and drinks were excellent at very reasonable prices. Staff were so welcoming and went out of their way to make sure everything was good.

All areas clean, Staff very good. Breakfast excellent. Will stay again if needed. Could not fault, will recommend to friends.

As a sports pub maybe this is good place for visit but quality standard of hotel remember probably early career of Margaret Thatcher. Paint going of from ceiling, furniture like a desk have marks from old cups or plates. Really for this price or just for a little extra you can find some normal XXI centruy standard.

Room was right below someone running an ice machine right below the room which vibrated my bed everyting it kicked on, when i complained to management they did nothing about it. Went the entire night with NO sleep as a result

The only thing that let's this property down is the lack of a lift. The room was nicely decorated and heating/air con worked well.

The rooms were newly renovated so our room still had that new shine to it. It was clean and neat. All staff were helpful and competent. The bathroom didn't have any hooks or shelves to hang or put toiletries but I made do by putting stuff on the counters and hanging my toiletry bag on the doorknob. We ate a lunch in their pub and it was the equivalent of diner food in our opinion which isn't what we want to eat while on vacay so we only ate once there. Coffee was great. There are many food and drink options nearby so location is great. Our room was quiet while my sister's room was not-they could hear the music and crowd noise from the pub downstairs but with earplugs they were fine.

There was nowhere to park and check in was very slow.

Great hotel right in the centre of Buckingham. Super affordable and a very friendly check in team. Didn't have breakfast but the stay was great, free parking right outside (limited) but there were spaces. Warm room, quiet. Very happy with this stay

It's above a Greene King pub so not of amazing quality but certainly acceptable for a couple of nights, and in a good, central location.

I had an excellent Katsu Chicken curry for dinner ! Like all pubs it can get a bit noisy later on which can affect sleep.

Nice fresh cooked breakfast

This hotel is very dated in parts. Although it needs a refurbishment it was generally clean. Value for money it was ok. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had dinner and breakfast there and both were excellent.

I found the White Hart to be old and tired. The rooms which dont appear to have been painted for ten years. The food and service were great apart from breakfast which was awful

While the hotel rooms are quite old and dated, and in need of a thorough refurb, throom was clean, bedding clean, nice fluffy towels and a great powerfull shower and even a bath, so no complaints, as it is such a competitively priced accommodation. Breakfast is freshly cooked and excellent, great range of beers at the bar at a fair price, but best of all were the staff, all were friendly, helpful and courteous, a credit to you. Highly recommend.

The staff were lovely, with a large range for breakfast. The food in the pub was great, with residents getting 20% off. The manager was always helpful, the shower and bath was great. I was very happy with this
