Fort Lewis Extended Stay Motel - South Tacoma - JBLM

Well we pulled in to the motel and popped a tire. Should've known it was gonna be all down hill from there. Had to wait for our room because they were "painting " it. Got into the room and it smelled gross and the floors were very dirty along with other areas. The fridge had dead and alive Cockroaches. Then tons of them crawling out of a area from the dividing wall. My husband had one almost crawling on him just sitting at the table. He killed some in the bathroom that also smelt terrible. This place does not look as advertised. Tons of weird people outside so be careful. Owners were rude and didn't like the fact that we left. Definitely didn't offer a refund or our pet deposit back. Its also in no way connected to JBLM or Extended Stay Hotels.

Clean space and comfortable living. Close to freeway and manager was nice and accommodating.

The actual property did not come close to the pictures online. I took photos of the problems, such as: humidity streaks on the walls, a window air conditioner that was caked with dirt and yellowed condensation residue both outside and inside, a dirty sink faucet with hair sticking to it and lotion that had not been wiped off of the handle, and very weirdly, an oily open-handprint on the wall two feet above the bed. At least that could have been covered by a picture of which there were none. The TV was on a shelf so far from the outlet that it had to stretch across the wall at its maximum extended reach. We don't normally carry cash, but oddly, the clerk asked for $20 cash before he would show us our room. It made me wonder if he was really the property manager. I had to choose a pin# to access the room but he had me say it out-loud while there was another person within ear-shot. There was not enough toilet paper supplied (a thin roll), and only one set of towels. We felt icky about sleeping in the bed and laid on top of the bed linens without turning them down. We were supposed to be there 3 nights, but I made new reservations and we left in the morning after the first night without saying a word. I didn't even want to talk to them. I will try to get my money back for the two nights we paid for but didn't use.

I can barely give it a one star rating. The bathroom smelled like mold and musty the entire time with the exhaust fan on the whole time. There is no towel rack in the bathroom, and the towels were worse than the one we use for our dogs. The soap was two little pucks, and the shampoo was a little simpler pouch. The bed frame was metal and exposed. The mattress was a spring mattress with no cover. You could feel the springs. The walls had some of the worst patch jobs I have ever seen. It was extremely noisy day and night. Neighbors don't respect parking spots. And management let themselves in the room because they heard noise two rooms down. Unannounced I might add. The curtains are see thru so you have no privacy. The AC unit looked like it came out of the 1960s. There are loose cables hanging in the room. The are so lazy to remove them, they just painted them instead. I can not, and would not recommend this to anyone.
