This property was amazing, especially for the price. It had a pool, hot tub, bbq area, AC, ocean view and everything we could want. Friendly staff and nearby there are lots of dining options and stores to buy food to prepare in the kitchen if desired. The condo was pretty clean except the sofa bed, when we pulled it out I had to sweep dirt or food off the bed before putting the bedding on for our son to sleep on it. Then had to sweep the ground under because of this. Otherwise everything else was nice and comfortable.

Great experience. Our condo was very spacious and comfortable. Lovely view. Swimming pool and hot tub were nice. It was a short walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Easy parking. There’s a small beach adjacent to the property. Some days we didn’t leave.

Quaint property, we stayed a week- felt like a lived in but clean home. There was a cockroach but it was as clean as it could be other than that. The pool was nice - access to beach. Pool key didn't work on all gates - the parking levels are nice and all the people at the property we talked to were nice and helpful from double checking our reservation to checking out. 9/10 would stay there again

The room had everything that we needed. Very convenient, very quiet. Staff is very friendly. The view is spectacular, and the pool and hot tube were very relaxing after a long hot day on the beach.

My husband and I enjoyed the secure building, ample parking, the pool, and the beach next door with shops and restaurants just down the street. Leilani the property manager was attentive and friendly.

The location was great and had a very nice pool/hot tub for evening relaxation. We used the grills several times and they were always very clean. The kitchen was reasonably stocked with pots/pans/utensils. The kitchen faucet was not in the best shape, but not a big deal at all. Overall, we really enjoyed it there. If we needed something, Leilani was quick to respond and very helpful!

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly, the condo was roomy and cozy. The only reason I didn’t leave 5 stars is because the pool was having maintenance done 4 out of the 6 days we were there and we weren’t made aware prior. Also, the extra linens for the pull out bed were soiled. But having a washer and dryer in the condo it was an easy fix.

I liked the exterior of the place it was beautiful and well kept on the outside but I was seriously disappointed on the inside. The sheets were stained with blood and makeup it was clearly not cleaned. The ceiling seem to be thin because we heard loud noises coming from it the entire time we stayed there. The dryer in the condo was broke and was never fixed or replaced so we were unable to do any laundry. I feel it had been broken for awhile which I think explains why the sheets on the bed were dirty. Parking was limited resulting in parking along the street.

We enjoyed a 9 night stay at the Kona Reef Resort and had the best stay! The property is beautiful and very clean! The rooms were very updated, spacious, and clean. The property is very well maintained and has an awesome pool, hot tub, and grill area with 4 gas grills to use all overlooking the ocean a d plenty of onsite parking. The units have all the necessary amenities for any length of stay including a full kitchen, washer and dryer, maid service with fresh towels and toiletries thoughout our stay and a beautiful Lani to sit on overlooking the ocean. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone. You cant beat the view and all of this while being within walking distance of dozens of many great shops and restaurants.

The unit we stayed in was owned by the leasing company. It’s pretty basic but functional. Our only complaints are: 1. The floor was not clean. I took my shoes off when we first checked in and within 2 minutes my feet were black on the bottom. I suspect it had not been mopped in a long time. 2. The WiFi while present and free had a max download speed of 5mps. Slower than dial up I think. Essentially the WiFi was useless and the front desk didn’t do anything about it. I missed three days of work as a result. Other than this, the property was great considering the price I paid.

Really loved the location and especially the pool that overlooked the ocean. It was nice that it was never busy with loud kids/people and was pretty mellow. The room we stayed in, however, was a bit run down and kind of smelled like it was cleaned with a dirty sponge and the floor looked like it was never washed, based on my socks turning black after walking around on it. Also wasn’t a fan of the centipede’s crawling on my bed and floor. I wouldn’t recommend staying on the ground level. On the positive, all of the staff was amazing and attentive. Great customer service and welcoming. (Even after my complaints 😬) I’d consider staying here again in the future.

Well, we were hoping to love it. But didn’t. Here are the pros and cons: Pros Location-right on the beach and easy walk to shops and restaurants Staff- front desk staff was extremely friendly Beach accessories- free use of beach chairs, boogie boards, snorkeling gear, and coolers Cons Dirty-hair in the shower, wad of hair just outside the door(even after cleaning crew had been by), floor not swept (hair and sand stuck to our bare feet), floor not mopped (our bare feet turned black on the bottom so we wore shoes inside). Internet never worked- we let them Know but it was never addressed during our stay Tv worked the first night but not again. We let them know but it was not addressed. No soap in the shower. They did bring some the next day after we let them know. Dryer lint filter was probably never emptied. We cleaned it out as well as picked out most of the dryer lint heading into to vent tube. Serious fire hazard. Personally, I think they need to fire their cleaning company and find one that can pay attention to details. Would I stay there again? No I don’t think so.

B1 - This room was absolutely FILTHY!! There was dirt on the curtains, half of the hooks were missing and the curtains drooped. There was greasy dirt on the fan blades. All the walls were wavy with water damaged, and the fridge was gross. There were bugs crawling out of the ceiling in the bathroom shower. Because we checked in very late, there were no other options to move to that night, we barley slept (with the lights on) for the fear of bugs crawling out of the wood work. We will never recommend this location to stay at.

We had a late checkin and Vanessa in the office helped insure we were able to arrive with no issues. Unfortunately, we paid a decent extra amount for a condo in order to have our unit cleaned after our stay. However, when we arrived, we were greeted with a broken front storm door, dirty bed sheets (there was actually hairs and dirty spots on wrinkled sheets) and our feet turned black from walking barefoot on the tile floors. We also reported that the bedroom closet doors were broken/not working because we were afraid we would get charged for that damage.
We had a late checkin and Vanessa in the office helped insure we were able to arrive with no issues. Unfortunately, we paid a decent extra amount for a condo in order to have our unit cleaned after our stay. However, when we arrived, we were greeted with a broken front storm door, dirty bed sheets (there was actually hairs and dirty spots on wrinkled sheets) and our feet turned black from walking barefoot on the tile floors. Do not stay here! Rooms filthy, ac full of crud and had to be cleaned while we're were staying. Full buckets of stuff came out. Then maintenance left towels on the floor to "clean" up. Black mold on bathroom, bedroom full of dust. Continued to be told I was wrong about how dirty it was.

First the pros The location is nice and close to lost of stuff. The beaches that are swimmable are close by.. the one next door is not very rocky.. The staff at the non existence front desk was super nice very helpful.. or at least pretent to help To help. Now the cons.. omg hold on. First i made numerous attempts to call before to To let them know we would be arriving late due to the flight landing at 9:30pm No one ever responded upon landing i saw a text was sent with a code to get into the room. Upon entering the room instantly smelled like mold and was stuffy. We tried to turn on the air and to our surprise they dont work. Not the one in the bed nor the living room.. who doesnt love a hot sweaty night.. The next da i told the guy at the front desk and he sent over the maintenance guy. He reset the breakers and they turn on for about and hour.. the next day i told the young lady at the desk and in front of the maintenance guy and he said he would take another look. Well we arrived and it was the same and the first night... check out day.. oh the ac maintenance guy is going to check your unit.. well that great we are leaving. In addition there was no pool key left for us to use i had to request one at the non front desk. The kicker... is the last night you get a text to take out your trash... WHAT THE WHAT???? Never ever in the history of life have i stayed anywhere where you pay to take out your trash. Honestly this was so disappointing and will not ever return.

They condo we had was nice. It was mostly quiet with an older crowd. The condo we were in was C3 which had a view of the pool and you could see the ocean, but unless you want to see people from your condo and they you I would suggest a higher floor. Otherwise the condom itself was accomadated with pots,pans,towels.etc. Close to the little town with several restaurants & souvenir shops. We would go back again but with a higher view of the ocean. Thanks!!

Great room with a lanai & full ocean view. They provide a ton of amenities- washer,dryer, pool towels,all kitchen necessities including dish soap, coffee filters & coffee packets. Bathroom had shampoo & conditioner, extra towels + blow dryer. Overall this was a great place to stay especially for the price.

Kona Reef is currently undergoing renovations. It is definitely showing it’s age and renos are past due. No ocean view from our unit, you had to enter the pool area or go outside the property for whale watching. Traffic on Ali’i Drive can get noisy.

Room had what we needed and was much enjoyed. Only downfall was the super firm bed. It was very hard to get much sleep due to the firmness. Otherwise the kitchen was nice, there was plenty of space, I loved having the balcony to relax on, and the washer and dryer were a huge bonus.
Room had what we needed and was much enjoyed. Only downfall was the super firm bed. It was very hard to get much sleep due to the firmness. Otherwise the kitchen was nice, there was plenty of space, I loved having the balcony to relax on, and the washer and dryer were a huge bonus.

Definitely run down, needs an update. Windows are so thin can hear people walking by. Curtain at slider was so dirty and disgusting. Was disappointed upon arrival, pictures make it look newer than it even is.

Close to beach, shops and restaurants. However, depending what room you get the WiFi or cell phone does not work (SOS) well in some parts of the room. But… it’s ok who wants to be disturbed while in Hawaii!

Staff was great. The screen door to the patio in unit E-3 is a pain to open. It could use some work. Other than that, happy with the stay, and would stay again on my next visit to Kona.

The property was located close to shops and easily accessible by uber and Lyft There was no one in the office when we reached the property. We tried calling and no one sneered the phone. A cleaner lady came out and helped us by finding the housekeeping lady who finally let us into the condo. Apparently the receptionist was sick so the place was unattended The condo was average for the cost we paid. We cdnt geg to work the hot water first but the chap came n fixed it.

Awesome guest service. Very generous, kind and friendly reception managers. We had a chance for late check out and communication for check in with a door code was easy and fast. Refill of toilett paper, soap, towels, kitchen things etc was done without asking. Details well arranged and all you need, in the center, at the beach… what do you want more?! 🤗

I would give a full 5 stars however, I was told if I needed anything to just text the number back that gave the room code. When I did no one answered. Then I went to the office and stood outside for 15 minutes waiting for someone to come back. The location was great though and overall enjoyed my stay.

Stayed here for one week & very happy with our experience. Convenient location & walking distance to many restaurants & shopping. Customer service was outstanding. We have an evening flight and they were very accommodating about doing a late checkout. Condo could use a little updating but then again, we were looking at budget & not top of the line accomodations. Will definitely consider coming to this resort again if we ever return to Hawaii.

First the pros The location is nice and close to lost of stuff. The beaches that are swimmable are close by.. the one next door is not very rocky.. The staff at the non existence front desk was super nice very helpful.. or at least pretent to help To help. Now the cons.. omg hold on. First i made numerous attempts to call before to To let them know we would be arriving late due to the flight landing at 9:30pm No one ever responded upon landing i saw a text was sent with a code to get into the room. Upon entering the room instantly smelled like mold and was stuffy. We tried to turn on the air and to our surprise they dont work. Not the one in the bed nor the living room.. who doesnt love a hot sweaty night.. The next da i told the guy at the front desk and he sent over the maintenance guy. He reset the breakers and they turn on for about and hour.. the next day i told the young lady at the desk and in front of the maintenance guy and he said he would take another look. Well we arrived and it was the same and the first night... check out day.. oh the ac maintenance guy is going to check your unit.. well that great we are leaving. In addition there was no pool key left for us to use i had to request one at the non front desk. The kicker... is the last night you get a text to take out your trash... WHAT THE WHAT???? Never ever in the history of life have i stayed anywhere where you pay to take out your trash. Honestly this was so disappointing and will not ever return.

We had an amazing time in Hawaii. Lots of rain one night and water was pouring in the front door as we weee in the ground floor. Not a huge deal. Location was great and close to everything. The parking garage was a big plus and made coming in and out very easy. Beautiful view and grounds around the property. I would like to know how to request an oven view in the future.

Our room B23 was 25 yards away from Ali Drive, the car noise was constant. The unit was15 from the beach where family gathered which was nice but the homeless people slept and argued. Garage parking was convenient as well

Excellent location! Rita greeted us warmly and ensured that we were comfortable. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. The room is clean, well-organized, and comfortable, with a wonderful view of the beach and ocean. It was a fantastic deal to have a kitchen! We enjoyed having lunch, dinner, and coffee on the lanai. The setting is ideal. The beach, restaurants, groceries, and a market are all within walking distance of the resort. Thank you, guys! You're the best!

I love Kona Reef. The condo has everything that my family needs. The location is very superb: close to dining and shopping areas, pool area in front of Kona bay, and very accommodating manager as we had a late flight so they offer checking out late. I had very positive questions experience. I will consider Kona Reef in the future.

Overall the stay was nice. Property was nice. Staff was friendly. Gift shop was not open. Dining was decent. No coffee service at front desk, that was disappointing, small pot in room that wasn’t kept stocked, no creamer either. Had to go to a restaurant out front for breakfast and it was very expensive.

The location was great and had a very nice pool/hot tub for evening relaxation. We used the grills several times and they were always very clean. The kitchen was reasonably stocked with pots/pans/utensils. The kitchen faucet was not in the best shape, but not a big deal at all. Overall, we really enjoyed it there. If we needed something, Leilani was quick to respond and very helpful!

The check in process was very easy, even for late check in. The property was beautiful. We had an ocean view. There was construction going on in other parts of the complex, but did not bother us. They offered beach chairs and pool noodles for the nice pool. Had the pool to ourselves most times. Loved to be able to walk out and see the sunset every night. The room was nice. Loved having laundry and a full sized fridge. The fridge had some rust and the pull out bed had some kind of sand or something on it, but we just used one of our sheets to cover over it. The staff was very friendly. We loved the location. Just a short walk to the shops and restaurants in town. Overall we had a great experience!

The condo was very nice and clean; with all you needed to enjoy the stay. The only issue we had was that the toilet had a leak at the base and caused the bathroom floor to be wet. We did let the office know but it was not fixed by the time we had to leave. We solved the problem by wrapping a beach towel around the base on the toilet.
