Excellent stay! Room was very comfortable and clean, great SPA facilities and a very good breakfast. We had a dinner reservation at the restaurant that wowed us on arrival but left very disappointed after the meal. Menu was disappointing and overpriced. Need to hire a new chef and less more attentive staff.

Set in a quiet village centre; this hotel was just lovely. A warm welcome from the host, who explained everything about the room and gave me pointers to all the restaurants/bars nearby. Comfy bed, lovely shower and bath, Nespresso machine, smart TV which also had BBC 1/2/News for us travelling from the UK. I travelled to the country by train and there is an excellent bus service from Amsterdam to Monnickendam; where it's about a 10 minutes walk to the hotel. No need for cash as they take contactless/apple pay/gpay and the Amsterdam Regional Ticket which covers the buses,trams,metro,and local rail services. The continental breakfast was good. For me, this was the perfect, affordable and peaceful hotel away from the hustle, bustle, prices and chaos of Amsterdam City Centre I would definitely stay here again.

The breakfast is not up to a 4-star hotel, we have been waiting half an hour for breakfast since there is only one person to serve everyone, (it is not self-service) paper napkins like the ones you get in a döner kebab, and having a very good coffee machine they don't even know how to make a good cappuccino. poor breakfast There was never anyone at the reception, little staff.

Fint og hyggeligt hotel. Lidt variation i morgenmaden ville ikke skade. Lidt problemer med bookningen / hotellet vedr. priser på turistskat og parkering ved afrejse …. Men blev klaret fint.

Set in a quiet village centre; this hotel was just lovely. A warm welcome from the host, who explained everything about the room and gave me pointers to all the restaurants/bars nearby. Comfy bed, lovely shower and bath, Nespresso machine, smart TV which also had BBC 1/2/News for us travelling from the UK. I travelled to the country by train and there is an excellent bus service from Amsterdam to Monnickendam; where it's about a 10 minutes walk to the hotel. No need for cash as they take contactless/apple pay/gpay and the Amsterdam Regional Ticket which covers the buses,trams,metro,and local rail services. The continental breakfast was good. For me, this was the perfect, affordable and peaceful hotel away from the hustle, bustle, prices and chaos of Amsterdam City Centre I would definitely stay here again.

We really liked the accommodations and the hospitality of the staff. I highly recommend the breakfast option as the food was wonderful along with amazing service! I definitely would return to this hotel!

amsterdam için 2. kez tercih ettiğimiz oteldi. amsterdam’a ulaşımımız oldukça rahat bölgede ücretsiz otopark hayatı kolaylaştırıyor. odaların büyüklüğü tuvaletin temizliği 10/10. tekrar şehire gelsem yine orayı tercih ederim.

The accommodations were elegant, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. The staff were outstanding—friendly, professional, and genuinely accommodating. A special thank you to Sara, whose warmth and attentiveness made our stay especially memorable. For the quality of the rooms, service, and location, the cost was absolutely worth it. The only drawback was breakfast. While fresh and well-prepared, the selection felt limited for the price. More protein options and fresh vegetables would greatly improve the experience beyond the breads, cold cuts, and omelets offered. One travel tip: wait until you arrive before booking excursions. Giethoorn, while picturesque, felt overrated and required nearly two hours of travel each way for a short canal ride. Instead, visit nearby Edam and Volendam. The Edam Cheese Museum is fascinating, and Volendam is perfect for strolling the harbor, exploring the streets, and taking the ferry. Overall, Hotel Posthoorn provides exceptional accommodations, outstanding service, and an ideal base for exploring a beautiful and authentic part of the Netherlands.

Very quaint and historic property in the heart of Monnickedam. The room was lovely. Old world with modern fixtures. Just FYI, no elevator so request ground floor if you need to. I enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was very nice and helpful. Lots of restaurants in walking distance. Short walk to the bus that can take you to Volendam or Amsterdam within 20 minutes

Hotel room was well maintained and ours had a balcony, nice to enjoy a morning coffee in the fresh air. Next time I stay there I will have to try their restaurant Joon which was certainly popular each night.
