The room felt like it was in the next town, it was so far away from reception! Up 2 floors in a lift then 2 further floors by stairs.... We chose the hotel because it had a pool but we never even saw it, was so far from our room. The breakfast receptionist was very good as was the breakfast, plenty of choice. We had room service one evening, very swift service and excellent food. Maybe we should have asked for a room nearer the facilities. The distance really spoilt it for me.

The staff at the Cornwall were great and very responsible both at the reception, spa and the bar/restayrant. The hotel has a nice spa, great grounds and is a good central location from which to explore many parts of Cornwall. Unfortunately, our stay was just OK as the room we were initially given was poorly cleaned. It smelt of dogs and there were many hairs all over the carpet. We were swiftly moved rooms without much fuss (which was much appreciated), unfortunately the room we were moved to was clean for the most part but had glasses that were dirty (thick white stains at the bottom) and a kettle that had black sludge in the bottom. Minor points but after having already had to ask to move rooms it put a downer on things. When we checked out our issues weren’t really acknowledged by the receptionist other than a simple “we’re sorry” which was a little disappointing.

We had an excellent few days at this hotel. We stayed in a superior double room. It was very spacious , with a large bathroom and a balcony overlooking the grounds. It was useful having a chilled cabinet and other facilities such as an iron and ironing board. Tea bags , coffee, water and biscuits were replenished daily and the toiletries were of a nice quality. We ate 4 times at the hotel as the food was so good. They had a good range of gluten free options and this was one of the reasons we chose to stay here ( I checked out the menu pre - stay). We felt the prices were a good price considering the high quality of the food. The staff were friendly and helpful. We definitely would stay here again.

This is an excellent hotel - nothing is too much trouble for the staff - restaurant food was great - room was excellent with a balcony and chairs - I would definitely go back.
