Dolphin Inn - The Lodge

Clean tidy room, good polite Staff, nice breakfast, 2 minutes walk to Paddington Tube Station...

As a solo traveller for three nights, this was perfectly adequate. Couple of minutes walk from Paddington station with the Stansted airport coach. Not the roomiest of rooms but clean and hot shower.

The best thing about this place is the location. Staff politeness varies but it ok overall, and breakfast is a good effort. Room for improvement regarding wifi (no wifi connection during our stay), condition of the room (we stayed at the Dolphin Inn side of the building, which felt a bit neglected), and noise (nothing can be done about the trains, but the walls and ceilings feel rather thin).

Two minutes walk to Paddington Tube. Quiet street. Nice staff. Good continental breakfast. Nice bed linen. Good shower. Tap water is tank based, so fine for tea. Filtered tap cold water is provided a few doors down at sister hotel, which actually works well, as you can also fill your water bottles, before you set off to explore London. You are very near the tube station so you can hear the trains passing under you, on the ground floor but it did not affect my sleep at all. Overall, for a reasonable price hotel, in good location, I think it is a really good stop over.
