Rustic Wave Cottages

Clean, cozy, quiet, and 'rustic'. I loved it and slept like the overgrown baby that I am. If you have high expectations for accommodations - move on. All others - enjoy.

We had a great time. Nice neat and small pods that are just big enough. Would be a good place to go with large groups.

Fabulous. Problem with check-in but host sent a message but cell service isn't so great in Newfoundland. Also, arrive during the day. Hard to find (wrong place in Google maps) and not well lit so hard to know when we were in the right place. Had to call to find out what was going on. Host had messaged so it all worked out in the end. Glad it did. Wonderful, clean, comfortable, well equipped. Would have stayed longer if we had the chance.

We stayed in the pods. Beautiful inside. Property alone was beautiful. Would stay again.

I booked the Basic Cottage, Garden View. When I checked in the lady said the room had no TV, kind of a shock in this day and age but I blamed myself for not reading the fine print. Oh well, not a deal breaker. However, when I drove to my cabin the WiFi reception was terrible. I drove by some of the other cabins and the signal strength was better (but not great) and they appeared unoccupied so I returned to the desk to inform the lady of the issue and asked if I could be moved to another unit. The lady casually (and not convincingly) glanced and her book and said they were all filled up. She said I could sit at the general store and use that WiFi router, which I did to complete some urgent online tasks. But I had other online needs and didn't want to spend my evening at a table in the store. So I looked for other lodging in the vicinity and quickly noticed that Rustic Wave Cottages still had several openings according to the website (I cannot say with certainty they were the same class of units; but she could have at least offered them if I paid the price difference). Rather than confront the lady about the apparent vacancies, I booked a site 20 km down the road in Charlottetown. I gave the lady my room key and left; forfeiting $125 USD. I hate to leave a negative review, but want to warn potential guests about the situation (and perhaps motivate the lodge owner to improve their WiFi).
