FairBridge Inn Express Bellingham

Misleading Photos, Dishonest Refund Promises, and Terrible Customer Service! Booked two rooms at FairBridge Inn Express in Bellingham, only to discover the hotel did not match the online photos. The advertised sparkling swimming pool was actually drained, covered with a tarp, and had standing puddles of water. The front reception area also smelled strongly of body odor. We immediately requested cancellation, and Avery at the front desk assured us that both reservations would be fully refunded without penalty. He even confirmed this directly with Hotels.com while I listened on speakerphone. On October 23, Avery again assured me that he had authorized the full refunds. However, immediately afterward, Hotels.com contacted him, and he reportedly told them the opposite, refusing to waive the first night’s charge. Avery repeatedly told me one thing while telling Hotels.com something completely different. This was incredibly dishonest and frustrating from a customer’s perspective. Thankfully, Hotels.com stepped up and fully refunded both reservations because of the misleading pool situation, despite the hotel’s refusal. Between the misleading photos, unpleasant conditions, and terrible customer service, I would strongly recommend staying somewhere else. Save yourself the headache!

Staff was terrible it was a very bad experience

This is an incredibly run down property. The room smelled, paint peeling in places, furniture dinged up. That said, the bed was surprisingly good and I had a quiet night’s sleep. The front desk guy was extremely nice and helpful. So mixed review. I stayed at this hotel because most every other hotel was sold out due to it being WWU move in weekend. I couldn’t bring myself to pay $350/night at the holiday inn (demand vs inventory pricing).

WHAT A DUMP! A tired old property that is terribly neglected and in a sketchy part of town. Only positive was that the room was clean. Stay elsewhere!

Nice bed. The fridge and microwave worked great. LA great low key place to sleep.
