Check-in & First Impressions: Smooth and welcoming. Friendly staff carried our bags, and the main hotel grounds looked clean, modern, and promising. The Room: The excitement ended at our door. The room was filthy (makeup stains on the sofa we had to wipe ourselves), dated, and reeked of old smoke. The sofa bed was unusable—the middle metal bar stuck out by inches, causing genuine physical pain. Staff promised a double mattress topper but instead handed us a single topper, duvets, and a thin protector, none of which fixed the issue. Nobody offered to help make the bed, and a promised full mattress never arrived. With no AC in 30°C heat, opening doors meant being swarmed by mosquitoes. The bin (full of dirty nappies) wasn't emptied for 2.5 days. Exhausted, we nearly left, but staff members Nicky and Bryony saved the trip by finally moving us to a lovely, modern AC room in the main building. Dining & Service: Food is okay, but service is painful. We waited 45 minutes for coffees that never arrived, weren't told about hot breakfast options, and watched understaffed servers perform an awkward, time-wasting "tableside salad prep" while other tables sat waiting for bills. Young staff frequently chatted in corners while guests were ignored. Verdict: The hotel is an active construction site. Avoid until at least next summer when renovations are complete and staff receive proper management.

This hotel is still a building site. Do yourself a favor and read the recent Google reviews before deciding to stay here. I'm sure in 12 months' time, when complete, this will be a fantastic hotel, but right now it should not be open to paying guests.

Hotel was not ready to open. A hotel resort and spa, without a swimming pool, spa or restaurant. We arrived promptly for check-in at 1500, as per guidelines, only for the receptionist to inform us that housekeeping was still working on the room. After a 50 minute wait in sweltering heat without chairs, it was clear that it was not housekeeping delaying the process, but rather that the room was still under construction. Most notably apparent from the heavy scent of varnish on entry (leaving us lightheaded after an hour in the room) and the door a) not working and b) being fixed on the wrong way round (with the identifying number on the inside). Staff made limited efforts to amend the situation: notifying us a few days before that none of the facilities were open, and attempting to compensate for this with a bottle of Prosecco. They also moved our luggage to another room when ours was clearly not fit for purpose later that night. This was not a stay worth £430 for two nights. Incredibly disappointing.

We booked for 4 nights via Expedia but stayed only 3 nights due to our commitments Check in was smooth and they took £ 100security deposit without any inventory check in As NICI is anew company and still doing construction and tiding up some facilities like pool is under construction Staff is welcoming and polite Check out was not smooth due tech error and some staff lack of experience and training could not do transaction hence we were held up for payment and inventory check out Macdonald resort was pet free but NICI Pet friendly Thankyou
