I stayed for a single night on business, and left early the next day. I found the hotel fabulous, lovely spotless large room, enjoyed the bar food and the value was amazing. Convenient for Letterkenny and Derry/Londonderry, my only complain was that I wasnt staying longer, I will certainly return.

This is a nice hotel. Our only issue was that it was hot in the room (unusually warm day in May), and there was no AC. Likely would not be an issue most times. There were two weddings receptions going on when we arrived, and it seemed the restaurant staff may have been involved in that, so we ended up going back out to grab dinner. Beautiful place though.

1st time here as was used as stop over and will go back again , bar staff were very friendly and easy to talk to, they made u feel welcome and fill off information about area and places to visit.

All staff encountered were friendly and approachable. They went out of their way to accommodate any requests and nothing was too much trouble. Food and service in the Fort Bar was exceptional and not overly expensive in comparison to other places.

Only critique would be that the cover was missing off the key card slot which is a bit unsightly and the cleaners could give a little more in regards to around the outlets and phone very dusty and can see the build up of dust on them other than that the place is lovely

My wife and I had a 2 night stay very pleasant receptionist guick check in room was clean and roomy but a disappointing view from are ground floor window ( six foot from a high banked hedge) breakfast very nice plenty of choice and a good cooked Irish but the coffee was terrible we had a few drinks in the bar on a Saturday night and the entertainment was excellent on the Sunday evening we had a meal it was nice but look warm overall we enjoyed our time but on fortunately wouldn’t stay there again as it is not in walking distance to anywhere

Wonderful staff and great hotel but, I don’t recommend the ground floor as we got a room that was essentially below level with the ground way above, no air conditioning and the window opened to mosquitoes and bugs, mold and dank.

Have been here many times in the past and always had a great experience, everything was fine except the service in the bar/restaurant on both nights 2 night was showing our table on time waited 25 minutes and no one came near us to ask would we like a drink and menu so I went to the bar and ordered a drink and lifted menu only to be told that they take orders at the table, so they brought our drinks down only to wait another 20 minutes before someone came and took the order, the food arrived some time later and had to ask for the 3rd time for a jug of water, after we eat the food no one came near us so again had to go to the bar and order a drink, on the 1st night much the same had to ask 3 times for the veggies to go with my fish dish and ask for the pepper sauce for the other dish, in saying this we have been many times before and never encountered this problem I think some of the younger staff didn’t know what they were doing at one point on Saturday night I counted 8 staff behind the bar and no one on the floor for orders etc , this hasn’t put us off from returning as this is a great place just needs a bit more organization, check in was brilliant room was amazing and the breakfast was so good, hope to see you all again soon

I stayed unexpectedly at An Grianan because my husband was in hospital while we were on holiday in County Donegal. From the first moment of warm hospitality at check-in to help with my unorthodox questions as I adjusted to our situation, the staff at An Grianan were angels in making my stay wonderful. Siobhan was lovely both evening and morning, and she and Caroline were so helpful. This is a wonderful property with every comfort, and I found the kindness of the people there to be the best.

I have stayed in An Grianan before. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely. The receptionist on duty the night we stayed was very helpful and so pleasant and ordered a taxi for us to go to the place where we were attending that evening. The only negative was that there were children running about the corridor on our floor and they were making alot of noise which was annoying but thankfully when we returned from our night out there was no noise.

My wife and I had a 2 night stay very pleasant receptionist guick check in room was clean and roomy but a disappointing view from are ground floor window ( six foot from a high banked hedge) breakfast very nice plenty of choice and a good cooked Irish but the coffee was terrible we had a few drinks in the bar on a Saturday night and the entertainment was excellent on the Sunday evening we had a meal it was nice but look warm overall we enjoyed our time but on fortunately wouldn’t stay there again as it is not in walking distance to anywhere

Hidden gem, quiet yet convenient location to stay if exploring by car. Staff were really friendly and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a great time. We were staying as part of a large family group and cannot thank the staff enough for everything they did. 😊

Perfect spot for a 2 night visit to visit family in Fahan, gorgeous comfy bed, deep soak bath which was bliss after long days, welcoming staff, good food, room service for those nights when you're too tired to leave the room. Perfect stay & if I was exploring its a great spot between Derry, Inishowen Penisula, Letterkenny and at the bottom of AnGrianan with the most spectacular views.

This property is right off the highway - for travelers from Ireland to Northern Ireland (UK) so there's not much around the property. The property is clean, well-appointed, nice bathroom and safe and oriented to traditional business and leisure travelers. Breakfast was included, asking with tea and instant coffee and some biscuits in the room. However, I've noticed that the good hotels seem to put those with the reasonable Expedia rates on the first floor or less desirable locations - likely customers paying higher rates are placed in more desirable room locations. This room had a must smell on one side (I'm very sensitive to that) but I slept well in any case.

The internet wasn't working which was very inconvenient as I couldn't WhatsApp my family .Also I had asked if I could be informed when it was available ,which I wasn't and it was unavailable the entire visit.The cooked breakfast was cold and lukewarm at best and the poached egg ,I had to return as it was so hard I could hit it on a wall.Very disappointed.

Lovely hotel with good size, clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff, set in a great location for anyone who likes to get out for a walk. No shops bars or restaurants around which means the hotel restaurant is the only option, and that's what lets the hotel down. The food is poor, even the new menu is basic food but it is cooked badly. First night I had sea bass which was ok but the veg was soggy mush and I sent it back, it was replaced with carrots and parsnips which were tasteless. The second night I had chicken stir-fry, no rice was available but they had noodles which were good. However the chicken was breaded / coated in something similar, and was out of a pre-purchased possibly frozen packet. Hardly any veg with it, so could and should have been a lot better. If a proper chef was employed there it would bring the hotel up to another level as there is nothing else to fault. I had stayed there last year and had the same problem with the food than. The new menu has not improved the quality of the cooking since then. Staff in the bar / restaurant and reception were all excellent to deal with. The breakfast is good and again very helpful, friendly staff working there. I will stay there again an continue to hope the owners take note of what is required to really improve their business.

All staff encountered were friendly and approachable. They went out of their way to accommodate any requests and nothing was too much trouble. Food and service in the Fort Bar was exceptional and not overly expensive in comparison to other places.

This was an amazing stay. Our room was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious, the on-site restaurant was cozy and full of friendly people, and I was genuinely sad to leave. A really perfect base for exploring the Inishowen peninsula. And a note for birders: don't miss the Inch Wildfowl Reserve!

From Charmaine welcoming us at reception, & giving me a free birthday upgrade to Dessie serving us at the bar, they are only a few of the reasons it's our favourite hotel. The food is amazing as always, the atmosphere relaxed no matter how busy they are. Breakfast was delicious & altho very busy, the girls were so courteous & chatty. We'll be back in October for our anniversary.

We arrived well before the check-in time and the receptionist was very friendly and amenable. It took ten minutes and our rooms were ready and we could check in. The room was lovely, massive and very clean. The bed was comfortable and the sheets, duvet, pillows were all very clean. There was a good choice for breakfast. All staff were very helpful. The grounds are lovely. I would definitely come here again.
