This Inn is beautiful. Can't wait to go back. Perfect location. Although they don't tell you ahead of time you have to park BLOCKS away, That's if you are lucky enough to find a spot blocks away'and that the permits they give you are only good for 24 hours. So you have to go change it every 24 hours. Unfortunately the breakfast is a joke. :( After I ate some yogurt, noticed it expired back in Dec. '22. I ate it April '23. Fred the innkeeper is super nice and friendly. Had a reservation for Room 13 I made back in the middle of Jan. Only to find out 4/1/23 when we were going down there , they had booked a private party??? No one said a word before hand. Other than these things the place is great.

Nobody there when we checked in. Lots and lots of stairs. Free parking yes but a block or 2 behind the place as it is street parking . Good luck finding a spot. I got a parking ticket. 150 dollar fine. Nobody ever on the property. Good location that is it. Price isn’t bad. They have a speakeasy but not able to drink. Would not recommend.

Lovely big room, bathroom was private but down hall. No elevator and narrow steep stairs, a little hard with luggage. But it was a nice stay!

Great older property very well maintained and served our needs well. Safe area, close and easy access to trails and we had no problem finding parking a couple blocks down. Wonderful breakfast option on the weekend which was a pleasant surprise. First self check experience and although I was skeptical at first everything was effortless. Will definitely stay again when visiting the Chicago area.

The room was very spacious. We had our own separate bathroom; it was close by, easy to access, and clean. It's a nice neighborhood. Rachel and Chris only recently took over managing this property and when I texted Rachel with a couple of minor issues she was very responsive. The candy in the lobby and the availability of cereal and coffee are nice touches. There is a loud bar next door. The noise didn't bother us too much but if that is a concern I suggest to ask for a room that is not directly on the street side.

This is a classic hotel. Building from the early 1920’s. Be sure to read room descriptions, as some rooms DO NOT have private bathrooms. There is a Prohibition Speakeasy in the basement, open to private members and hotel guests (ask for password at check-in). They use the Speakeasy for continental breakfast in the morning. Fred will check you in and is very personable. Parking is on street about a block away, you will get parking stickers at checkin. Only steps away from CTA Red Line. About 8 walking blocks from Wrigley Field

The staff was very nice and the location was an easy walking distance to Wrigley Field. Parking was much easier than I expected. I liked the charm of this older building and the history behind it. I only wish the bed in room 1C was firmer. But all things considered, it was a great stay.

This is a great location and one of the only places I found with free parking. I was able to find a spot about within 2 blocks each time I needed to park. The area felt very safe and had good choices for food nearby. Contactless check-in was great. The building is old and creaky, if you're very sensitive to noise this may not be the best choice for you. I was here for work and didn't have an issue going to bed early and waking up early!

The space was old, as described. Our bed was pushed against a wall and the mattress was old/soft so not very comfy. When checking the room for belongings before we left, we found disgusting ketchup all along the wall. The description said there was a breakfast in room 13. There was not. It was in the normal place and it was fine. Our “private” bathroom was very difficult to latch, but it is an old building .check in was easy. We didn’t see or have contact with anyone, but didn’t need to.

Hotel is in a nice location and I felt very safe. Room was clean though it was a little strange that the bathroom is accross the hallway and not in the room (it was ok since it was a private bathroom and there is only 2 rooms on the floor).

Location and building character is great! They need to invest in new towels and sheets though. Our pillows didn’t have cases, just a pillow over that was stained. Towels were past their life cycle. No shampoo and no bat soap. Overall it just needs cleaned better. Could use some instructions on the heating too, along with some signs about talking in the shared spaces. We had people talking outside our door until 4 AM.

The property has a lot of character and is in a great location. There was a good amount of black mold on the window sill in the shower, the towels hanging in the bathroom appear to have been used, and the bedside lamp did not work. There was also no hair dryer that was listed in the amenities. It also would have been nice to have conditioner.

When I came into the room. The restroom had feces left in the toilet. When I called the Inn Keeper about a faulty heating unit in my room, they made it seem as though I didn’t know how to use the electric heater properly, when, in fact, the electric heater has a short in it. She even explained that other customers have complained about it too, yet they didn’t want to do anything about it. The customer service was incredibly poor.

What a beautiful place! It's a small B&B decorated in a lovely art deco style with a really nice host that welcomed us and showed us how everything worked here. Parking was a breeze and available only a block away. The rooms are small and I guess they could be cleaner, but nothing too bad. We got self -serve breakfast, which satisfied our needs although it was a bit limited. The biggest upside is that the inn is close to the L train station and in a very safe area of Chicago, plus had a lot of restaurants and bars close by. Would visit again!

The walls are very thin. I understand that it's an older building, however, I could hear everything as if it was right on the other side of the door, and I mean everything. The bed is very firm and uncomfortable. I also wish there was some kind of full-length mirror somewhere in the room. The location is good and everything felt safe. It was also nicely decorated and clean overall.

The old Chicago inn is a beautiful building with lots of lovely historic features. We had a room with a bathroom (3d) which felt small for 2 of us (bed was against the wall so not ideal for 2 people sharing and no space for bedside lights or bedside tables). The hotel is a lovely old quirky building so this is to be expected! Some of the other bedrooms were far larger and prettier with private bathrooms across the hall. I’d book again but choose to go for one of those rooms. Area felt safe and very close to transport links. There were local bars, cafes and restaurants and it was 25 mins to downtown and all major sites. Owner and general manager were both very friendly and helpful. I’d definitely stay again (but I’d request one of the other rooms!)

There is no heat, the walls are dorm room thin, the bathroom lacked towels. Outside of that an absolutely adorable small inn style no contact hotel. The charm and personality on display made up for the flaws in spades.

The location of the inn is great, within a nice neighborhood and within five minutes or less walking of Belmont L station. It is a beautiful old house with nicely decorated common spaces, however, our room, especially the bed, felt not that comfortable and the window-mounted AC was unpleasantly loud, as were the AC units of windows close to ours, so there were a lot of unpleasant noises at night. The bathroom was ok and we were pleasantly surprised by the simple breakfast that was included. Access to Room 13 is another nice feature, but we were unfortunately too tired to try it after our arrival on the same day.

We had the largest room at the B&B. It was roomy and comfortable. Rachel and Chris were great, very friendly and helpful. And Teddy, their dog. So sweet. Missing my dog, I got my dog fix from this adorable boy.

Everyone was helpful from the outset. I appreciated being able to drop off our luggage when we arrived early, as the staff were still getting our room ready. We ate at a few restaurants in the area and the Belmont L station was a few steps away, which was very convenient.

I got a parking ticket. 150 dollar fine. Nobody ever on the property. Good location that is it. Price isn’t bad. They have a speakeasy but not able to drink. Would not recommend.
Nobody there when we checked in. Lots and lots of stairs. Free parking yes but a block or 2 behind the place as it is street parking . Good luck finding a spot. Hosts Rachel and Chris went out of their way to make visit as enjoyable as possible. Virginia was very informative and hospitable also. Would definitely go back for another visit!

Great location, not far to walk to Wrigley and super close to station for trains. Room was cold but Fred gave an extra blanket since he couldn’t adjust the air conditioning. Fred was the best, very helpful and super friendly. Other than being cold the room was comfortable and everything worked fine. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

We had the largest room at the B&B. It was roomy and comfortable. Rachel and Chris were great, very friendly and helpful. And Teddy, their dog. So sweet. Missing my dog, I got my dog fix from this adorable boy.

Everyone was helpful from the outset. I appreciated being able to drop off our luggage when we arrived early, as the staff were still getting our room ready. We ate at a few restaurants in the area and the Belmont L station was a few steps away, which was very convenient.

Rooms are small, but quiet and quaint. Perfect size for a couple. 10 minute walk to Wrigley Field. There are several local bars and restaurants even closer.

The staff was very nice and the location was an easy walking distance to Wrigley Field. Parking was much easier than I expected. I liked the charm of this older building and the history behind it. I only wish the bed in room 1C was firmer. But all things considered, it was a great stay.

This is a great location and one of the only places I found with free parking. I was able to find a spot about within 2 blocks each time I needed to park. The area felt very safe and had good choices for food nearby. Contactless check-in was great. The building is old and creaky, if you're very sensitive to noise this may not be the best choice for you. I was here for work and didn't have an issue going to bed early and waking up early!

The location of the inn is great, within a nice neighborhood and within five minutes or less walking of Belmont L station. It is a beautiful old house with nicely decorated common spaces, however, our room, especially the bed, felt not that comfortable and the window-mounted AC was unpleasantly loud, as were the AC units of windows close to ours, so there were a lot of unpleasant noises at night. The bathroom was ok and we were pleasantly surprised by the simple breakfast that was included. Access to Room 13 is another nice feature, but we were unfortunately too tired to try it after our arrival on the same day.

This Inn is beautiful. Can't wait to go back. Perfect location. Although they don't tell you ahead of time you have to park BLOCKS away, That's if you are lucky enough to find a spot blocks away'and that the permits they give you are only good for 24 hours. So you have to go change it every 24 hours. Unfortunately the breakfast is a joke. :( After I ate some yogurt, noticed it expired back in Dec. '22. I ate it April '23. Fred the innkeeper is super nice and friendly. Had a reservation for Room 13 I made back in the middle of Jan. Only to find out 4/1/23 when we were going down there , they had booked a private party??? No one said a word before hand. Other than these things the place is great.

We liked the unique qualities of the hotel and the neighborhood, and we had a court-facing room so it was quiet. Two comments to note: Towels - other than small hand towels - are not provided. And, although there is bread and toppings in the kitchen (along with other items), there is no toaster.

Super cute inn. Room is small but was a good size for us. Loved that the inn caretaker has a friendly dog. Great communication. Email included precise instructions and pictures. We found street parking quickly although I don’t know if that’s the norm. Walkable to Wrigley & a safe walk. Breakfast was as promised, basically a snack until we could get to a restaurant. I recommend paying extra for the attached bathroom.

Such a great place to stay. We will come here again and again. The complimentary food is very generous and tasty. The decor and charming interior is period 1920s chic and yet homey. Fantastic service from the on site manager/ host.

Great older property very well maintained and served our needs well. Safe area, close and easy access to trails and we had no problem finding parking a couple blocks down. Wonderful breakfast option on the weekend which was a pleasant surprise. First self check experience and although I was skeptical at first everything was effortless. Will definitely stay again when visiting the Chicago area.

There is a Prohibition Speakeasy in the basement, open to private members and hotel guests (ask for password at check-in). They use the Speakeasy for continental breakfast in the morning. Fred will check you in and is very personable. Parking is on street about a block away, you will get parking stickers at checkin. Only steps away from CTA Red Line. Virginia was a great host, she went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Breakfast was basic but good (especially the fresh baked biscuits). Room was a little small but it was OK. Bed was not very comfortable though.

What a beautiful place! It's a small B&B decorated in a lovely art deco style with a really nice host that welcomed us and showed us how everything worked here. Parking was a breeze and available only a block away. The rooms are small and I guess they could be cleaner, but nothing too bad. We got self -serve breakfast, which satisfied our needs although it was a bit limited. The biggest upside is that the inn is close to the L train station and in a very safe area of Chicago, plus had a lot of restaurants and bars close by. Would visit again!

Getting into the hotel required going thru 2 doors with access codes that swing into you and if you’re carrying anything at all you struggle to get through. If you’re with others amplify that struggle by a factor of 10. Our room door was *behind* the hall door so that was even more fun to navigate. The room lacked Kleenex, cups in the bathroom, shampoo and conditioner in the shower. The floor is not flat so you feel unsteady just walking around. Windows are filthy. $250 for a space barely big enough for two. I know it’s summer in Chicago but even still way overpriced for the value.

I was wondering when I book this place what did I get into. I was amazed of how nice this place was. Checking in to get a pass code to enter made us feel safe. The room was so clean and I did have to leave it to use the bathroom, but was not that bad. It was down a hallay on the same floor but it was only used by us as we had to have the code to get in. They do have rooms with attached bathrooms. It was quiet even though it is in a somwhat busy area. 15 minute walk to Wrigley Field was awesome. Parking garage down the same street. Air condtioning set by owner and was a little muggy but they supply a very nice fan to circulate the air. Over all I will definityly stay here again, but maybe get a room with a attached bathroom. GREAT PLACE THE DEN HOTEL.!!!!!!!
