Laura Sue and Rick show great pride in the Bed and Breakfast they run! Our breakfast was wonderful, with great conversation with other guests and our hosts. The outside garden area was so beautiful and inviting! The perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine…as long as it’s not raining. The BnB is not far from the Brewers ball park or the downtown area which was very nice!! We had a very pleasant experience and would stay again!

This is NOT a Hotel stay. It is guesting in someone's personal home. It is important for prospective patrons to understand this. The couple who own and operate this are as friendly and helpful as one can imagine, but they are not there to be servants so the most important thing is to be respectful of them and their property. They provide an incredible breakfast and offer several choices. (Trust me you won't get this service at any local diner.) Don't change your requested breakfast time on a whim or throw out crazy demands and expect them to just hop to it because you are the paying customer. They are tremendously accommodating, and if it is an emergency they will work with you but don't take advantage like an entitled tool. The rooms are smaller and decorated in mansion motif. You may need to share a bathroom. There are three floors and no elevator. Know this going in so you are not surprised. You will be treated in direct proportion as that which you give out. Example: I was respectful, friendly, and congenial and in return enjoyed a nicer experience than in a hotel and cheaper to boot. (Free parking near downtown? Good luck finding THAT elsewhere. They provide it.) To sum up, staying here is a more personal experience. Act like a jerk and you will be treated with the minimum of professionalism necessary. Act like a mature adult and you will be treated to a better time than you will find in any downtown hotel at twice the cost.

The mansion is absolutely gorgeous and decorated with amazing detail. The hosts were extremely nice and helpful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and more than we ever would have expected. This place is definitely worth checking out and a super cool experience to have in our travels. Please ignore the negative reviews regarding the neighborhood that the mansion is located in. We felt completely safe and had no issues with having our vehicle parked at the property. The people who have commented on the neighborhood being bad clearly have not traveled much outside of small town America. It is what you would expect from being in any city in the United States. Great place, great price, great experience! We would highly recommend it.

Staying with Rick and Laura Sue was a delight. They are amazing hosts and their B & B experience set the bar high. Extremely accommodating and we enjoyed our short stay for the weekend. The grounds are lovely. We enjoyed the Serenity suite we were set up in. Had a great sleep and enjoyed a soak in the jacuzzi tub before breakfast. As for breakfast…..top notch!!! Enjoyed the company and conversation at breakfast as well. They make you feel like they already know you. Engaging and entertaining. Definitely would come back while in Milwaukee.

From the check in they greets with open arms . She takes you step by step on breakfast options , home layout and how to access the place when coming in late. The home is in 1890s decor down to the tea. Best shower every and if you always wanted to take a bath in a Victorian tub this is for you.The inn keepers put in a water filtration system makes water more pure than bottle water. For the wine lovers you can buy bottles at the b and b and theres afternoon tea but must be booked in advance . The chef is Rick he makes the most delicious breakfasts straight out of Wisconsin. The bed is very luxurious .This place has the charm and warmth of a 1890s house and a garden to back it up. Uber is fast and there is public transportation a block south. Book for a night or weekend or bridal shower or a wedding you wont regert it. I cant say but thankyou for making feel welcome.

This was our first at a Bed & Breakfast and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. Laura Sue and Rick were so welcoming. Very personal feel upon check-in and helping us get settled in. The breakfast was amazing! Great location just mere minutes from anything that we wanted to do. Our suite was very inviting and comfortable. The garden is a very relaxing space as well. Definitely worth the trip and we would definitely stay here again!

Lovely hosts and beautiful home with old charm throughout and delicious breakfast served when you want it! They let you select the breakfast when you check in and the time you want to eat. Very nice touch. The home is truly beautiful inside and out with a luxury feel and fine finishes (the wood floor in our room was very intricate and you could definitely tell it was costly in it's day). Everything about the home was lovely. The neighborhood, not so much, it's very run down and the home just across the street is boarded up. Very loud neighbors, talking loud and yelling most the day, loud music, and cars. It definitely took away from the luxury feel, although DEFINITELY not the fault of the hosts! We ran the air conditioner / fan at night to override the noise and had no issues sleeping. We parked our car in their driveway lot and had no issues there either. Beware, extra fees when booked on here... I'd book direct next time!

Such a beautiful place with charm & very clean!! Food was delicious & it's a great location for going to the Pabst Theater! Make sure you go to the front door with the sign in front, & not the side door by the garden when you check in.

Everything was fantastic – cleanliness, comfort, friendliness, quiet, and the breakfast! My only criticism is that the bedroom was a little hot at night – it was a hot day in May, and I was told the place was "kept at 67 degrees," but it felt a lot hotter than that in the room. Would definitely stay again, just maybe not in mid-summer (and would like to go back for an afternoon high tea!).

We chose this property due to its proximity to American Family Field and we’re glad we did. The place was clean and comfortable. The hosts were fantastic. I’d be happy to stay there again.

The interior of the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There was alot of dust, broken glass & a peculiar smell throughout. The shower was a danger to get in & out. The owner & host, Laura Sue was down right rude, nasty, miserable, & condescending the entire stay. She made us both very uncomfortable during our stay. She stated she did not like that we booked thru Expedia & therefore would only give us discounted service. When we mentioned we were there for my husband's birthday, she told us she could not wish him a happy birthday because we booked thru Expedia. Laura Sue would not let her husband/owner speak to us because of this also. She told us she looked into how Expedia billed us & said we were over billed by Expedia. If we could have received a refund, we would have left immediately! We also heard gunshots the last 2 nights of our stay. All the other B&B's were sold out in the area with the exception of Schuster Mansion. Now we understand why. Worst B&B ever!

The Schuster Mansion is a hidden gem in downtown Milwaukee. Built in 1891, it is an architectural marvel. When you consider that the building is 134 years old, the insider is essentially pristine. The rooms are furnished in the style of the period which means that the guest is able to experience what it would have been like. The breakfast choices are excellent. We really enjoyed the chance to 'dine' for breakfast. It is definitely an experience to share be served your breakfast with real silverware and china. We will return for a longer stay.

The property owners: Sue and George were amazing. The house is beautiful. We were located in the serenity room which was a dream. You have everything for a great stay. Quiet. Comfortable and clean. A must when you go to Milwaukee. The bus station is a short walk. Breakfast was delicious. We love it.

What a unique opportunity to step back in time! The detailed restoration of this beautiful bed and breakfast with such an extensive collection of period pieces is something to behold. The accommodations are very comfortable, our hosts were very welcoming and informative, and breakfast was an awesome experience. Definitely recommend a stay there!

The 1800's style mansion very unique and beautiful. My girlfriend and I (23 &26), stayed there for a night because we came to see a concert at The Rave down the street. It's only an 8 min walk, very convenient and close. The bedroom we stayed in was Richard's Den, it was so amazing to see! Clean and comfortable. Beautifully designed from it's era. The breakfast in the morning was some of the best food I've tasted, I had crepes with fruit in them, very nice stay.

Victorian Mansion near down town Milwaukee is quaint and quite unique. The proprietors are sweet, hardworking people who really aim to please. Rooms are well appointed and decorated in period furniture and knickknacks. A really fun experience.

Staying with Rick and Laura Sue was a delight. They are amazing hosts and their B & B experience set the bar high. Extremely accommodating and we enjoyed our short stay for the weekend. The grounds are lovely. We enjoyed the Serenity suite we were set up in. Had a great sleep and enjoyed a soak in the jacuzzi tub before breakfast. As for breakfast…..top notch!!! Enjoyed the company and conversation at breakfast as well. They make you feel like they already know you. Engaging and entertaining. Definitely would come back while in Milwaukee.

Lovely hosts and beautiful home with old charm throughout and delicious breakfast served when you want it! They let you select the breakfast when you check in and the time you want to eat. Very nice touch. The home is truly beautiful inside and out with a luxury feel and fine finishes (the wood floor in our room was very intricate and you could definitely tell it was costly in it's day). Everything about the home was lovely. The neighborhood, not so much, it's very run down and the home just across the street is boarded up. Very loud neighbors, talking loud and yelling most the day, loud music, and cars. It definitely took away from the luxury feel, although DEFINITELY not the fault of the hosts! We ran the air conditioner / fan at night to override the noise and had no issues sleeping. We parked our car in their driveway lot and had no issues there either. Beware, extra fees when booked on here... I'd book direct next time!

We enjoyed our stay and the food was good but we were charged extra for our children. When I reserved it on Hotels.com, it was clear that we were a family of 4. When we stayed at the hotel, I had to pay an extra $30 for each of my children. I believe this is something with Hotels.com and not the B&B, but I would have stayed elsewhere if I had know I would have to pay for each kid.

Victorian Mansion near down town Milwaukee is quaint and quite unique. The proprietors are sweet, hardworking people who really aim to please. Rooms are well appointed and decorated in period furniture and knickknacks. A really fun experience.

Rick and Laura Sue were wonderful hosts. I stayed for three nights so I got to enjoy 3 of their wonderful gourmet breakfasts. The B and B was lovely with special touches throughout--made me feel like I was living during the Victorian Era. Surrounding neighborhood is not great but the inn itself felt very safe.

The interior of the house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. There was alot of dust, broken glass & a peculiar smell throughout. The shower was a danger to get in & out. The owner & host, Laura Sue was down right rude, nasty, miserable, & condescending the entire stay. She made us both very uncomfortable during our stay. She stated she did not like that we booked thru Expedia & therefore would only give us discounted service. When we mentioned we were there for my husband's birthday, she told us she could not wish him a happy birthday because we booked thru Expedia. Laura Sue would not let her husband/owner speak to us because of this also. She told us she looked into how Expedia billed us & said we were over billed by Expedia. If we could have received a refund, we would have left immediately! We also heard gunshots the last 2 nights of our stay. All the other B&B's were sold out in the area with the exception of Schuster Mansion. Now we understand why. Worst B&B ever!

My partner and I had a lovely time here — the hosts were very accommodating to his dietary needs and the breakfast was amazing. Not to mention, the mansion itself is beautifully decorated and well-maintained. I would have stayed longer had I had any reason to be in Milwaukee past our one night. Thank you, Rick and Laura Sue!

The 1800's style mansion very unique and beautiful. My girlfriend and I (23 &26), stayed there for a night because we came to see a concert at The Rave down the street. It's only an 8 min walk, very convenient and close. The bedroom we stayed in was Richard's Den, it was so amazing to see! Clean and comfortable. Beautifully designed from it's era. The breakfast in the morning was some of the best food I've tasted, I had crepes with fruit in them, very nice stay.

Such a beautiful place with charm & very clean!! Food was delicious & it's a great location for going to the Pabst Theater! Make sure you go to the front door with the sign in front, & not the side door by the garden when you check in.

The home is in 1890s decor down to the tea. Best shower every and if you always wanted to take a bath in a Victorian tub this is for you.The inn keepers put in a water filtration system makes water more pure than bottle water. For the wine lovers you can buy bottles at the b and b and theres afternoon tea but must be booked in advance . The chef is Rick he makes the most delicious breakfasts straight out of Wisconsin. The bed is very luxurious .This place has the charm and warmth of a 1890s house and a garden to back it up. Uber is fast and there is public transportation a block south. Book for a night or weekend or bridal shower or a wedding you wont regert it. I cant say but thankyou for making feel welcome.

What a unique opportunity to step back in time! The detailed restoration of this beautiful bed and breakfast with such an extensive collection of period pieces is something to behold. The accommodations are very comfortable, our hosts were very welcoming and informative, and breakfast was an awesome experience. Definitely recommend a stay there!

I absolutely loved my experience here! Rick and Laura Sue are remarkable people who made sure I was comfortable and taken care of. It was such a great time getting to meet the other guests at breakfast. The selections of breakfast and teas were fabulous. If you are an open person to casual conversation with so many new people, you will love it here. I highly recommend!

The Schuster Mansion is a hidden gem in downtown Milwaukee. Built in 1891, it is an architectural marvel. When you consider that the building is 134 years old, the insider is essentially pristine. The rooms are furnished in the style of the period which means that the guest is able to experience what it would have been like. The breakfast choices are excellent. We really enjoyed the chance to 'dine' for breakfast. It is definitely an experience to share be served your breakfast with real silverware and china. We will return for a longer stay.

The minute we walked in we felt right at home. We love old historic houses. Rick and Laura were amazing hosts. Breakfast was wonderful. There was ample off street parking. It’s in a wonderful old neighborhood, not far from Marquette or downtown Milwaukee. It is an old mansion and maintains a great ambiance of the time. Don’t expect new, expect a great adventure!

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. We arrived at 3:45 pm to check-in. At first, we were told we were too early and that we can't check in until 4. We asked if we could just leave our bags, as we had tickets to a Brewers game that started at 6. She then gave us attitude and told us to put our bags in one of the rooms off to the side. She then asked for my name, and then said, oh, you've been canceled. I asked her what she was talking about, as I booked this room months ago and never heard anything about a cancellation. As a matter of fact, hotels.com sent me an email titled "All set for your trip to Milwaukee" just three days earlier, and there was no other correspondence since. I then called hotels.com, and got the run around from them as they called the hotel, and the lady then told them that I failed to call them to confirm my reservation. I have checked my original reservation and there is absolutely nothing in there that says my reservation will be canceled if I don't call them to confirm. There is verbiage about making arrangements for late check-in, but nothing that says you must call or be canceled. Last, but not least, I prepaid for this hotel back in January. Here we are in July, and I still haven't been refunded.
DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. We arrived at 3:45 pm to check-in. At first, we were told we were too early and that we can't check in until 4. We asked if we could just leave our bags, as we had tickets to a Brewers game that started at 6. She then gave us attitude and told us to put our bags in one of the rooms off to the side. She then asked for my name, and then said, oh, you've been canceled. I asked her what she was talking about, as I booked this room months ago and never heard anything about a cancellation. As a matter of fact, hotels.com sent me an email titled "All set for your trip to Milwaukee" just three days earlier, and there was no other correspondence since.
