Canary Wharf Retreat with Free Secure Parking

Please be warned, this property is not as it appears. Check in and out is difficult without a car as you have to walk over .3 miles from the property and back to pick up the key from a convenience store, and have to again return it there. That may not seem far but when you are dragging luggage and have already had to maneuver through public transportation from the airport, it is an added layer of frustration. It seems they could allow you to leave the key in the unit but this is not the case. The building is quite run down and has poor air handling so smells unpleasant. The unit itself has mold and mildew growing in the showers with the secondary bathroom having such a strong odor it was difficult to breathe and was even detectable from the hallway and living room with the door closed. There is no a/c which seemed to make the smell worse. We messaged our concerns on day one of our stay, and they were finally addressed on day four. I will say once addressed they allowed us to check out and provided a discount which we appreciated since we then incurred the cost of 2 nights at a hotel. They suggest there is a sofa bed (there is just a sofa, there were linens though) but the living room has no drapes so our friend was necessarily awake just after 4am when the sun began to rise. Our friends left for a hotel after the first night of what was meant to be a 5 night stay. There was a laundry machine and the kitchen was decent, but there was much disrepair elsewhere in the unit.

Die Wohnung war toll. Nur das einchecken war nicht so toll. Wir mussten den Schlüssel ca. 1km entfernt abholen oder zwei DLR-Stationen entfernt von der Wohnung. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten waren fast direkt vor der Tür, das war super. In der Wohnung war leider das Problem, das sie im Bad nicht ganz sauber war. Die Regale im Bad waren schmutzig und Essgeschirr war dreckig, aber es gibt ja Gott sei Dank eine Spülmaschine in der Wohnung. Wir wollen aber nächstes Jahr gerne wiederkommen, sonst war die Wohnung echt super und haben uns da sehr gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Die Anbindung in die Stadt direkt war sehr gut.

The condo was clean and very cozy. The rooms are separate and the view is great. There is a nice store within walking distance and there is plenty of public transportation. I had a great time and would stay there again. I just did not like the check-in process. We had to get the key from some store and when you are from out of town it is hard to navigate with luggage in a new and strange place. They do offer to have a person meet you there, but that was an extra $50.
