Fun place to stay so close to the Melk Abbey. No lift or AC but opened windows at night and the provided fan made the room very comfortable. Quaint hotel and town. Easy access to the Abbey and walking distance to the Danube.

This hotel is located at the town center and is very convenient for everything. The staffs are very friendly. I appreciate the receptionist introducing me the idea of biking in the Wachau valley. I rented a bike from the hotel for 20e/day and had a good time riding to Splitz and return (for about 5 hours). The hotel also provided me a helmet for free. I want to thank the hotel and to recommend visitors to consider this activity.

Ingången till hotellet var på en tråkig baksida, men praktiskt då hotellets egen parkering låg precis där. Hotellet har ingen hiss! Men vi fick hjälp med våra tunga väskor till andra våningen. Rummet var verkligen inte lyxigt, men hade det vi behövde trots att det var ganska litet. Frukosten var bra, väldigt basic, men innehöll det man kan ställa krav på. Ingick i hotellrummet trots att det står på beskrivningen att man kan köpa till detta. Läget var perfekt, alldeles nedanför det stora klostret, och på andra sidan av byggnaden låg det vackra lilla torget med inte mindre än tre trevliga restauranger. Full poäng i vänlighet när vi skulle åka: jag hade glömt ett klädesplagg på rummet, och när vi efter besöket på klostret kom tillbaka för att ta vår bil på hotellets parkering satt det en liten lapp på bilen att jag hade glömt kvar något på rummet. Innan vi hann gå in på hotellet igen kom en av personalen utspringande med ett stort leende med mitt plagg! Slutsats av detta hotell: perfekt läge, vänlighet, men långt ifrån ”hotellyx”- och därmed billigt.

Phillipe the owner of Stadt Melk was very helpful, quickly ushering us through check in so we would be able to make it on time for the last abbey tour of the day. He had bikes to rent which we used to ride to Durstein and back along the Danube and through small towns. The local restaurants had good food and service and the town is beautiful. I could not recommend a better place to visit or a better hotel in which to stay.

We stayed here one night as we were driving through the Austrian countryside. We really enjoyed our stay at this property. You can't beat the location, as it is right below the Abbey (which is a must-see) and the town is very charming and cute. The best part of this hotel was the French gentleman at the front desk who helped rent us bikes, get boat tickets, and gave us recommendations on how to bike the Wachau Wine Valley and answered any and all questions we had so patiently. We couldn't have done it without his expertise. He was pleasant and charming and really made the stay! Thank you for taking such good care of us! Parking is also right behind the hotel which was very accessible and nice. Highly recommend this hotel and this little town of Melk.

Very central location and clean accommodations; however, there is no sir conditioner, only a fan. One thing that I didn't like was the fact that they kept getting into our room to open and close the windows, leaving the door open a few times for sir circulation, but it was never explainer to us, neither asked.

Check-in was nice. The gentleman was wonderful. He explained the city and even carried my bag up to the room. The parking was convenient and safe. The location was great! However, our room was miserably hot!! We actually considered leaving. There was a portable fan in the room which helped but it was still so hot.

Wunderbare Unterkunft, Super Frühstück, ausgezeichneter Servic. Leider war nachts viel Lärm von Jungen Leuten im Zentrum. Ausserdem bimmelt die Kirche auch nachts alle 15 Min.

This is a nice hotel with great location, but not having an AC in the middle of August heat wave really spoiled the experience. We spent two quite miserable and sweaty nights, while otherwise, happy with the service, rooms, and breakfast.

Very central location and clean accommodations; however, there is no sir conditioner, only a fan. One thing that I didn't like was the fact that they kept getting into our room to open and close the windows, leaving the door open a few times for sir circulation, but it was never explainer to us, neither asked.

Phillipe the owner of Stadt Melk was very helpful, quickly ushering us through check in so we would be able to make it on time for the last abbey tour of the day. He had bikes to rent which we used to ride to Durstein and back along the Danube and through small towns. The local restaurants had good food and service and the town is beautiful. I could not recommend a better place to visit or a better hotel in which to stay.

We stayed here one night as we were driving through the Austrian countryside. We really enjoyed our stay at this property. You can't beat the location, as it is right below the Abbey (which is a must-see) and the town is very charming and cute. The best part of this hotel was the French gentleman at the front desk who helped rent us bikes, get boat tickets, and gave us recommendations on how to bike the Wachau Wine Valley and answered any and all questions we had so patiently. We couldn't have done it without his expertise. He was pleasant and charming and really made the stay! Thank you for taking such good care of us! Parking is also right behind the hotel which was very accessible and nice. Highly recommend this hotel and this little town of Melk.

Breakfast was really good- lots of choices, fresh food, well done. Would have liked to know that the registration desk was not staffed before 2pm. We arrived in town from the train station and would have liked to stow our luggage for a couple hours before checking in. As Americans- we had no idea that some European hotels had this procedure. Also made assumptions that there would be AC and a refrigerator in our room. Guess we could have read about the amenities better to be more prepared.
