Galveston beach front and ocean views at Casa Del Mar

Our family of 5 had a great stay! The location was amazing. It was a quick walk right to the beach and a short drive to local attractions. We enjoyed all of the extras provided in the condo, including the wagon and beach chairs. My kids really enjoyed having tvs in the bunk beds, which gave them their own space to hang out and relax. The property was exactly as described and a wonderful place to stay. Care and thought were put into making it a clean, organized, and comfortable space for guests. It was a perfect getaway for our family.

Checking in was great, however once inside the unit, it wasn’t what I expected at all. Smelled musty, the curtains on the sliding door were extremely old and had holes in them and no locks on the sliding doors. It had a pole to wedge it from being opened. The bed was horribly hard, slept on the sofa sleeper, which wasn’t great, but better than the bed. The bunk my granddaughter slept on had a comforter that smelled of urine. The description stated it came with a starter supply of paper products and found nothing. Thankfully I did bring toilet paper. I did message the owner and it was delivered immediately. There was no toaster or blow dryer. The outlets don’t hold plugs. Every one I tried to use, everything fell out. The only one that worked was where the coffee pot was plugged in, so I had to keep switching things out to charge my devices. This place needs a serious update. It did have a great view of the beach from the balcony. Sorry for the negative review, but definitely not worth the money. The pictures are extremely inaccurate of what it truly looks like.

I wish I would have taken photos of this old, stinky place. Do not waste your money here.

Top Floor very last in row. Great view of the gulf to sit, drink a cup of coffee and watch the sun rise over the gulf. It was great to have a full oven with such a small kitchen. The mattress is very firm but we brought our own topper. Good location across from the fishing pier with bar on top.

We stayed at the Coastal Pelican for a relaxing getaway, and that’s exactly what we got! The host was exceptionally kind, accommodating, and helpful! The condo had everything we needed for our stay and MORE! It was close to all of the things Galveston has to offer, entertainment, food, and shopping! We highly recommend the Coastal Pelican, it was a 10/10 stay for us!
