We stayed for a week as we visited family. Two adults and 2 teens. The room was comfortable and they had a nice sitting room with pool table so when we needed down time we weren't just stuck in our room. The hot tub isnt working, and it sounds like it will take a while to get the jets going. The pool and hot tub were clean and we did sit in the hot tub for a while. The best part is the breakfast buffet. It is like no other hotel breakfast. It is in an actual restaurant and is delicious!

We were welcomed by Chris who was friendly and efficient. our room is clean; facility seems new. I love the small park next door! We ate at a nearby Mexican restaurant within walking distance. Hotel has hot tubs, a gym, and fire pits outside with a nice seating area. We would definitely return!

Nice, comfortable hotel in Ponderay near turnoff to Schweitzer ski area. Clean rooms and friendly staff. There are 2 hot tubs, a pool, small workout room, and even a room for ski waxing and bike storage. Close and convenient to Sandpoint and shopping.

We booked this hotel at the last minute, and were overall very satisfied with our stay. The pool/hot tub, outdoor fire pits, pool table, always available hot coffee/tea/ice water, and surprisingly nice free breakfast buffet really helped make our stay comfortable and convenient. The one negative was the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. This in itself is not a huge deal – but it did result in an overwhelming musty odor in the room. I needed to often open up the windows to air out the room when returning to it, because the smell was so strong to me.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Ruby. We got a basic room, which was small, but served our needs as we were just in it to sleep. I was a little disappointed that there was no tub in the bathroom as I am a bath person, but it was ok. The hotel offers refrigerator and microwave upon request, I am unsure if there is a charge for that or not, but that was unexpected. We didn’t need those things, so no problems with it not being in room. There is laundry for $2.75/load and detergent to buy for $1+tax. The continental breakfast was AMAZING and you will not find a better one for this price range of hotel. We ate at the onsite restaurant for dinner and the food was good but service was slow. Overall, we are very pleased with our stay. Thanks

Quality of free breakfast at adjacent restaurant was excellent. One of the best we’ve had. The property was very clean. Staff were all very friendly and service was great. Only issue we had was the weak wifi.

So my stay here at the hotel was definitely a 4.5 out of 5. My room was next to the north 40 store and I believe it was the lowes or home depot behind it. So if I went to sleep early I heard forklifts at night. Then early in the morning was the same thing. What i did not like the most was the bed. I am 6-3” tall and 258. So kind of a big guy. I crushed that bed definitely not the bed at home. How ever everything else was great. Voucher for food next door was killer. Walmart close buy, star bucks across the street. Taco bell and burger king also there if you need your insides cleaned out. A big possibility i will come up later in the year. I will definitely stay there again.

This was the smallest room we've ever stayed in for a queen, was shocked, but it was clean and just fine. Was smaller than our bedroom at home which isn't very big. Wish I'd taken a photo, but didn't. Could hear t.v. in room next to us at one point. Door across from us slamming at 3 a.m. and the guy doing it loudly talking, typical hotel annoyances. A.C. worked great but was RIGHT next to my side of bed below the window so opted to turn it off at night. Mattress wasn't great, not very supportive and we are small people at 140 & 155 lbs. Breakfast buffet was wonderful!! Sitting by the fire pit at night outside was relaxing. Didn't use the pool or hot tub. Have to walk through there to get out to fire pits though.

Checking in was great. The lady was very sweet and helpful. It took only a few minutes. My problem was with the morning shift. I set up a late checkout but they still were calling the room telling me I’m late getting out. I called the desk and asked about how to order my breakfast with heir voucher because the directions left on the desk stated that the restaurant would deliver to my room. When I mentioned that the front desk agent told me they do not offer that and then I would have to go to the restaurant and order. Though that agent sounded confident in her answers, they did not make any sense. I would’ve appreciate it and have more respect for an individual that tells me they are unsure or don’t know versus just giving me the wrong answers altogether. It created a very stressful check out.

Hotel is fine. Unfortunately, at 10:45PM staff opened my door (which was chained) and yelled to get out saying the computer shows the room empty. I checked in at 6pm... paid for the room, was given the card keys... I told them I paid for my room. They came back and beat on the door again 10 minutes later demanding I open the door and vacate the room... they did this several times after I gave them my name... the last time they threatened to call the police, I told them to go right ahead. 10 minutes passed and a lady came to my door again and started to apologize for their error... They need to retrain their staff and learn how to make contact with people that are asleep and not threaten them. The hotel did comp my room and the day staff were very sincere in their repeated apologies. It could have been handled is a much better way....

I found the staff exceptionally gracious and helpful. We lost our phone and they went above and beyond to help us find it. Housekeeping and front desk went out of their way to help. I will recommend Hotel Ruby to everyone.

What stood out to me was the friendly and courteous staff. When I flew into Spokane, my baggage was delayed. I checked into the Hotel Ruby without anything. The staff took care of me and gave me essentials until I was able to get my baggage the next day. The entire staff went out of their way to make sure all my needs were met.

The Staff at this property are a step above most Hotels and none at this price point. Everyone was helpful and happy. Ruben was as knowledgeable as a concierge at a five star resort and the night staff was helpful no matter what time it was. I would recommend this property with no reservations.

The staff was fabulous! We were greeted by a friendly anfd helpful staff that was able to help us navigate and find great shopping and places to eat with a local flavor. Our room was comfortable and clean and we were able to enjoy the amenities. We used the pool, billiards tables and the and there were tables in various areas where we spread out our craft projects and worked on them . I was impressed with everything .

We had to cut our Idaho trip short because of this hotel — which was not part of the vacation plan. The hotel itself looked nice, but the bed was so loud and uncomfortable it felt like sleeping on a squeaky trampoline. One night was plenty. Backs heal, coffee exists, we could’ve rolled with it. What we couldn’t roll with? The staff. When we asked about checking out early and getting money back for another hotel I wasn’t expecting a parade or a refund fairy to appear. I understand policies are policies. But there’s a way to deliver “no” with basic empathy, and then there’s the way I was treated — dismissive, cold, and downright rude. We had to cut our Idaho trip short because of this hotel — which was not part of the vacation plan. The hotel itself looked nice, but the bed was so loud and uncomfortable it felt like sleeping on a squeaky trampoline. One night was plenty. Backs heal, coffee exists, we could’ve rolled with it. What we couldn’t roll with? The staff. When we asked about checking out early and getting money back for another hotel I wasn’t expecting a parade or a refund fairy to appear. I understand policies are policies. But there’s a way to deliver “no” with basic empathy, and then there’s the way I was treated — dismissive, cold, and downright rude. We received a room on the main floor at the very end of the hallway. The person above us was pretty noisy. The main issue is that our room backed onto an industrial business at the back of the property.a" The fork lift started running at 6am. The hotel did not seem busy. I am not sure why we were given a room at that location.

Was all very good and well worth the money. The only disappointing thing is the pool is super small. And it's hard to find the parking lot. We had to drive through walmart to get to the hotel.

This was a very clean hotel and the staff were friendly. The location is a little north of downtown Sandpoint but just a quick drive away. We would stay here again.

The Ruby is right at the crossroad to Schweitzer ski resort. It is on a main road but located far back on their lot so there is no road noise. Sandpoiny was a short drive away.

Nice, comfortable hotel in Ponderay near turnoff to Schweitzer ski area. Clean rooms and friendly staff. There are 2 hot tubs, a pool, small workout room, and even a room for ski waxing and bike storage. Close and convenient to Sandpoint and shopping.

The advertised breakfast was not available until well after check out for most of the guests. Not until 0900. This is. Ski town so the majority of guests needed to find breakfast on their own. There was no intent to compensate guests for the lack of advertised service or voucher them for a future breakfast. Sandpoint has many hotels available to skiers. The marketed breakfast is why we selected the Hotel Ruby

Essentially value for money stay. But the breakfast was a mistake. If you have anu dietary restrictions dont bother. The lady at the restaurant not interested and completely ignored our dietary restrictions so we would not return.and recommend. Property is simple but clean but probably 3 stars to be honest

Much to my surprise this was a great hotel! The atmosphere was incredible, the staff were all warm and friendly, from the front desk to the morning maintenance guy! The room was clean and cozy. The breakfast buffet that was included across the parking lot was much more than just a normal continental breakfast, it was delicious and all the staff over there were so friendly. Way to standout Ruby Hotel! We will most definitely be back next year for the motorcycle rally and will be staying here again! If I could leave 10 stars I would!!!!!

The breakfast is outstanding. It’s at a restaurant across the parking lot. The bacon is put in a smoker so the outside edges have a beautiful crisp, the sausage is good quality, the food is made from scratch. It’s in the details!

We went to the restaurant for our complimentary breakfast, after we read the review we were expecting good things only to find empty trays and no new food coming. The attendant seemed more intent on cleaning up then supplying any new food. I travel extensively for my work and have to say this restaurant was on par with some of the worst places I've stayed. Very unimpressed.

Everything was so clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and nice. Complementary breakfast was nice. We enjoyed the pool and hot tubs. The rooms smelled clean when you walked in and the temperature remained comfortable.

Nice place. I would stay there again. I was impressed with the variety of food and beverages offered for breakfast. I hadn't seen English Breakfast Tea in the Tea Sections in a while out of all the places in which I've stayed at. And I've felt like some British Tea for North Idaho just as I have back in my home state of Washington since North Idaho is more like Washington than Southern Idaho is despite the major political differences between the 2 states. North Idaho observes Pacific Standard Time just like Washington. And with the exception of I-90 in the interior of the Idaho Panhandle no posted speed limits above 70 mph, just like in Washington State and England and all the U.K., and more 60 mph posted speed limits on 2-lane roads in North Idaho just like state of Washington and the U.K., thus making North Idaho, north of I-90, a traditional English Tea drinking part of my country along with the state of Washington. And this place had some English Tea offered with Breakfast. Staff was great, too. And the hot tub was warm enough that I could just relax my legs in it without putting the rest of myself in there.
