What a great hotel. We had tv issues and they moved us to another room asap. The breakfast buffet was excellent but the star of the show was the hot tub overlooking the mountains

Fabulous hotel. Room was very clean, comfortable and quiet and we had a great sleep. We had the supper buffet and the variety was outstanding. Highly recommend. Breakfast buffet was great as well. Great beers at happy hour in bar. Absolutely lovely hotel with great common areas. Recommend this for a stop. Staff are fantastic.

Je sirai que l'hôtel est très bien mais les appréciations sont bien ou excellent. Je suis déçu à double titre. D'une part, la piscine est actuellement fermée ( j'avais choisi spécialement cet hôtel pour sa piscine ) et nous n'avons pas eu de chambre avec vue sur le lac et on ne nous l'a pas proposé pourtant l'hôtel n'était pas complet

The service was good, the hotel and room are beautiful, HOWEVER, there was no vent in the bathroom, the spa closed early so we didn't get to enjoy it and the pool was closed due to maintenance, so we basically didn't enjoy any of the amenities. The breakfast is GREAT!!

The main reason for the one star is that they required to pay for the sauna which isn’t listed and the main reason is the parking spaces are sooo close together, u can barely get into out of ur car. Pics below

This was our 1st hotel in Iceland, however we were a little underwhelmed. The grounds looked a little neglected and our room, although nice enough, lacked meaningful ventilation (just a tiny window and warm temperatures). There was only a kettle and instant coffee/tea. The hot tub was also a bit disappointing.

We stayed here 2 nights during our 14 days ring to trip. The room was clean and modern. However, the shower didn’t work properly- lukewarm towards cool water. Other than that, everything was great. Good breakfast buffet. We dined at the buffet restaurant twice . The food was decent and the service was excellent. Highly recommended this hotel.

Loved it, love that it comes with breakfast. The triple room is spacious and clean. They do have those stupid European showers that get water all over the room but that appears to be the new thing.

This hotel was unfortunately a huge disappointment, especially for the price we paid. Personal at the reception and at the breakfast was disinterested and not really willing to help. The room was worn down and old, see pictures. We wanted to call reception but the phone didn't work so when we needed something we needed to go over in pouring rain. The person at the reception claimed she didn't have a number we can call reception on from our cell phone. The shower didn't really work either, the water was coming uncontrollably from the shower head and overhead shower simultaneously, it couldn't be adjusted. Accordingly we had water all over the bathroom. The room was also not clean, we washed the cups before using them as they were literally greyish inside. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. The pictures on Expedia are not showing the breakfast buffet but the evening buffet that costs 65-70 Eur per person. Not even one picture on Expedia is from the breakfast. The cups at the breakfast were as dirty as in the room. The hotel has a sauna and a gym but both cost extra: gym ca. 15 Eur per person (but only after 5pm as it is by the conference room) and sauna ca. 25 Eur per person per hour. Even an extra towel costs ca. 4 Eur per towel. We cannot recommend this place and definitely don't understand the good ratings.

Property was nicely laid out. We booked a lake view room which also ended up looking out over the hot tub so you couldn’t actually enjoy the view without people thinking you were watching them. Also the noise from the hot tub wasn’t enjoyable although it didn’t go on late. Dinner at restaurant was limited to a buffet which we weren’t interested in.

Very nice hotel tucked away from the main road with a beautiful view of Lake Lagarfljót. We had a triple room and it was very spacious and quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good. Check in was easy and fast and all of the facilities are clean and well maintained.

Very nice full service hotel. The concierge was very helpful in giving us advice on the Oxi pass (which was an easy drive in late September). Breakfast was a feast compared to other places. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Highly recommend!

After reading the reviews, we were curious what we would get, as there seems to be 2 divergent types of reviews. We were housed in the 2nd building in the ground floor (1st), with the breakfast room down below. Decor best described as old age home-ish…functional but not new. Half the double electrical sockets in the room didn’t work, the bathroom put out a strong unpleasant smell (not sure if it was the toilet sewer gases or the shower drain). Otherwise the room was comfortable but the walls (and ceiling) are thin, sounded like our upstairs neighbors were rearranging the furniture until past 1030pm. Good shower pressure, but a bath mat would be appreciated as water goes under the glass shower ‘door’ and into the rest of the space. Breakfast included was a good sized buffet, kept stocked and fresh. Hot dishes include: bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, potato cakes, oatmeal) and cold dishes included: assorted breads, pastries, salad ingredients, cottage cheese, jams, etc. we took a miss on the evening buffet, which was very expensive, even for here. Resident calico cat makes her presence known occasionally in the main lobby/lounge area. Happy hour prices are really good for Iceland. Overall a good stay for 2 nights with hiking and nice falls in the area.

Breakfast was excellent. Location was great. Was able to view the northern lights from the balcony. The food at the restaurant was also pretty good. Checking in wasn’t that good, we paid for a superior room but did not get one and had to go back to the reception to get it changed (we did remind the person at the reception when checking in though).

The staff was very accommodating with a late check-in which was much appreciated. Great bathroom setup. The window in the room is tiny (like in most hotels in Iceland) so it was really hot as there was no wind whatsoever.

We arrived just before 9pm and thankfully the restaurant Kol Bar&Bistro and dinner buffet downstairs were still open until 10pm. The male waiter made it clear he wanted us to check out the dinner buffet downstairs but I’m glad we didn’t because the seafood pasta at Kol Bar&Bistro was delicious !! The room was clean and the lobby area was really welcoming. The receptionists both during the evening and morning were very sweet and helpful! Beautiful area!! I was sad we had to get going because they have a lot to do around that area, definitely a place to spend a couple nights going hiking, ATV tours etc,

The person at the reception claimed she didn't have a number we can call reception on from our cell phone. The shower didn't really work either, the water was coming uncontrollably from the shower head and overhead shower simultaneously, it couldn't be adjusted. Accordingly we had water all over the bathroom. The room was also not clean, we washed the cups before using them as they were literally greyish inside. Breakfast was okay but nothing special. The pictures on Expedia are not showing the breakfast buffet but the evening buffet that costs 65-70 Eur per person. Not even one picture on Expedia is from the breakfast. The cups at the breakfast were as dirty as in the room. The hotel has a sauna and a gym but both cost extra: gym ca. 15 Eur per person (but only after 5pm as it is by the conference room) and sauna ca. 25 Eur per person per hour. Even an extra towel costs ca. 4 Eur per towel. We cannot recommend this place and definitely don't understand the good ratings.

I stayed her for 2 nights and really enjoyed my stay. It is about a 20 minutes drive from Egilsstaðir and nice and quiet location near the lake. Comfortable room for a solo traveler. Breakfast was really good with lots of choices including scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. Breakfast staff is really friendly and makes you feel welcome. Reasonably priced when I stayed there. Would stay there again for sure.

Nice stay. Beautiful rural setting, very tranquil. Outdoor hot tub was great, breakfast was above average and included in the room price. The place is a bit outside of the city, so be aware it is not convenient for restaurants and quick store stops. Overall great experience, would recommend to anyone.

Very nice hotel tucked away from the main road with a beautiful view of Lake Lagarfljót. We had a triple room and it was very spacious and quiet. The breakfast buffet was very good. Check in was easy and fast and all of the facilities are clean and well maintained.

Auf unserer Rundreise waren wir eine Nacht im Hotel. Wir hatten einen tollen Blick auf den See. Das Hotel liegt etwas außerhalb von Egilsstaðir. Den Spa-Bereich konnten wir leider nicht nutzen. Beim Frühstück war es recht voll.

Nice room no complaints. Restaurant was expensive but good. Loved loved hiking the area around the hotel! Beautiful forest and just behind the hotel is a nice hike up to a large waterfall. Also hengifoss waterfall is about a 10 minute drive away and probably my favorite waterfall I saw in Iceland

Set in a wonderful location, with a majestic view over the lake. We had a comfortable stay and a delicious dinner with cheerful and prompt, but not rushed, service. The buffet breakfast is very generous, with a better and more extensive variety of choices than we have found elsewhere. If you are happy with being in this peaceful and somewhat out of the way destination, this is a delightful choice. A few tiny issues: The TV didnt work, but we didnt care. The handicap lift from the first floor to the breakfast room dudnt work, but the stairs were quite manageable and the main lift worked well. We were glad we chose the hotel.

We stayed here 2 nights during our 14 days ring to trip. The room was clean and modern. However, the shower didn’t work properly- lukewarm towards cool water. Other than that, everything was great. Good breakfast buffet. We dined at the buffet restaurant twice . The food was decent and the service was excellent. Highly recommended this hotel.

Fabulous hotel. Room was very clean, comfortable and quiet and we had a great sleep. We had the supper buffet and the variety was outstanding. Highly recommend. Breakfast buffet was great as well. After reading the reviews, we were curious what we would get, as there seems to be 2 divergent types of reviews. We were housed in the 2nd building in the ground floor (1st), with the breakfast room down below. Decor best described as old age home-ish…functional but not new. Half the double electrical sockets in the room didn’t work, the bathroom put out a strong unpleasant smell (not sure if it was the toilet sewer gases or the shower drain). Otherwise the room was comfortable but the walls (and ceiling) are thin, sounded like our upstairs neighbors were rearranging the furniture until past 1030pm. Good shower pressure, but a bath mat would be appreciated as water goes under the glass shower ‘door’ and into the rest of the space. Breakfast included was a good sized buffet, kept stocked and fresh. Hot dishes include: bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, potato cakes, oatmeal) and cold dishes included: assorted breads, pastries, salad ingredients, cottage cheese, jams, etc. we took a miss on the evening buffet, which was very expensive, even for here. Resident calico cat makes her presence known occasionally in the main lobby/lounge area. Happy hour prices are really good for Iceland. Overall a good stay for 2 nights with hiking and nice falls in the area.

It’s a very nice hotel and breakfast is amazing in the morning with the view of the lake. We got there very late still the staff was able to accommodate us and help us with check in. Rooms are comfortable. Tv is the size of computer monitor but it didn’t bother us as we were just staying for the night. Overall would comeback and stay here again

Í meðallagi gisting. Við mættum kl. 14.30, innritun hefst kl. 16.00 Okkur var boðið að greiða 4.000 kr. fyrir snemm innritun. Höfðum ekki áhuga á því, en fannst í alla staði heldur gróft að leggja auka gjald á snemm innritun ef herbergið er tilbúið hvort eð er. Starfsmaður í afgreiðslu virtist upptekinn og hafa lítinn áhuga á að láta gesti trufla sig. Þjónustulundin mjög takmörkuð. Herbergið var hreint en mjög plain og þarfnast endurnýjunar. Engin kaffivél eða hraðsuðuketill, á baðinu var ekki þvottapoki, sturtuhetta eða nokkuð annað aukalegt til þægindarauka fyrir gesti. Afar heitt og loftlaust var í herberginu vegna sólskins sem skein inn um gluggann, frekar ólíft að vera þar inni þrátt fyrir opinn glugga. Báðum um viftu fyrir nóttina. Starfsmaður í lobby lofaði að koma með hana á herbergið, en ekki gert. Fékkst þó með því að fara aðra fer til að sækja hana. Morgunmaturinn (innifalinn í verði) var óspennandi.
