Staying at Gens Julia was one of the best experiences I've had while traveling, period. The main reason is absolutely the wonderful hosts Ursula and her son, Lorenzo. And although I did not get her name, the woman who cleans and prepares the rooms was also very kind, thoughtful and attentive. I traveled with my mom, and they made our stay so wonderful. They went above and beyond in welcoming us and giving us information about the surrounding area, including the best ways to get to attractions and what to look out for as tourists. Staying here was one of the major highlights of our trip to Italy, and I can't recommend it enough. The actual rooms are beautifully furnished and clean. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to hit all the main attractions in Rome. There is a kitchen area is that is stocked with food and is available throughout the day, so it really felt like a home away from home. The only difficulty someone may encounter is finding the location - it is located on the 3rd floor of the building, but there is a lift that takes you up. I recommend reaching out to Ursula on Expedia beforehand so that they can prepare for your arrival.

Ursula is truly one of the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. From check-in to check-out, she was available for our every need and could not have been more welcoming. The guest house is very conveniently located in the heart of Rome and walkable to all the major sites and attractions. The self service breakfast was fantastic and was very convenient for early mornings on the go. My husband and I loved our stay here and would absolutely recommend!

Ursula is truly one of the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. From check-in to check-out, she was available for our every need and could not have been more welcoming. The hosts, Urszula with the help of her son Lorenzo, were fantastic! From help with luggage, to walking directions, tips on what to watch for when getting taxis, to stocking common areas with drinks (including your preferences) and all sorts of charcuterie, breads, pastries and nuts, we wanted for nothing. It was such a warm atmosphere and Urszula was available by text/phone at any time. The location is fantastic with easy to moderate walking to most major attractions. Train station about 3.3km away, 10-15€ ride depending on traffic. And taxi stand right across the street if you need one (no waiting). If you don’t mind a B&B vibe, I highly recommend Residenza Gens Julia.

I will be back to stay with Ursula and her son. They made every effort to make sure our stay was comfortable and happy. They are the loveliest, most helpful, gorgeous people. We had a lovely big room with many beautiful touches. The breakfast was delicious and varied. We welcomed the aircon as it was 38 outside. The residence was spotlessly clean, the water was potable and there were snacks and drinks in the fridge. Ursula helped us with the baggage lost by the airline/airports, with transport, and with reassurance and support. Our 3-night stay was part of a longer 32-day trip and it was an absolute highlight - an oasis of calm, comfort, and care. Thank you so much to everyone at Residenza Gens Julia!

Die Gastgeber Urszula und ihr Sohn haben uns sehr gut empfangen, alles erklärt und waren extrem nett und zuvorkommend. Die Unterkunft ist der Hammer, sehr zentral gelegen und alles perfekt zu Fuß erreichbar. Es war wirklich extrem sauber. Für Frühstück am Morgen ist gesorgt. Es wird alles eingekauft und man bedient sich selbst im Kühlschrank. Es gibt Kaffee, Tee, Toastbrot, Käse, Wurst, Marmelade, Honig, Kuchen, Obst, Müsli etc. etc. Auch gekühlte Getränke zwischen 1€ (Wasser) und 3€ (Prosecco Piccolöchen) sind immer verfügbar. Diese Unterkunft ist eine absolute 10 von 10 und sollten wir wieder nach Rom kommen, würde ich diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt wieder buchen. Vielen Dank an Urzula und ihr gesamtes Team. So macht Reisen Spaß.

Not like other hotels in SO many good ways: - Greeted by Ursula like we were long lost family. - She brought in her son Lorenzo to check us in because he’s awesome. - This is a guest house, not a hotel. We had the full run of the fully stocked kitchen 24/7. - According to Lorenzo, whatever we wanted anytime was “OK”. And it was. Except that it was actually great. - Right outside our window was the ruins of the Area Sacra di Largo Argentina. Yes, the actual site of Julius Caesar’s murder. Right there. Right outside the window. Like other hotels in SO many good ways: - PERFECT location. Restaurants, shopping, history everywhere in every direction. - Clean room. - Great service. - Excellent prices. Huge value. We visited on foot in four days: Vatican City (including an actual papal mass in the square), the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trastevere, the Jewish Ghetto, Trevi Fountain, Castel Sant’Angelo and countless piazzas, churches, restaurants and shops.

We only stayed here for 1 night to catch our flight the next day. Easy short ride from Roma Termini (we could have walked but it was very hot at 2pm). Our host Ursula’s son welcomed us at the door. Very friendly and gave us a short overview of the general area, how to use the coffee machine (they have Lavazza!) Breakfast was great, many many options. Our room was huge with 2 full bathrooms, very clean, beds/pillows were super comfy and AC was great (2 zones), shower was excellent. Right next door is a highly rated pizza place (many variety at reasonable prices), a restaurant where they make fresh pasta daily. 2 convenience stores within the same block. Even though it’s a busy neighborhood, we did not hear any noise in our room, we slept really well. Location was perfect, almost all major tourist spots are within walking distance. Met Ursula when checking out, lovely person, very caring, and gave us detailed directions on where to get a taxi for the airport. This is a good base if you want to spend a few days in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.

Ursula, som driver hotellet, er en person som gjør alt godt hun kan for gjestene sine. Rommet var fint, helt og rent. Renhold hver dag. Hotellet ligger meget godt plassert i forhold til severdigheter i Roma.

Ursula and her two sons are excellent who made our staying were welcome and comfortable. Self-serve breakfast was flexible for me since I don't eat breakfast. The room was spotless and spacious which I have enough space for meditation and practicing yoga. The location was closed and walkable to the Pantheon, Campo de'Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Venezia, and Colosseum. I took taxi to Vatican Museum which was around 10 minutes, but you also could walk 30 minutes to the museum. I highly recommend.

Ursula and her son David are world class hosts. They are very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very large and very, very clean. We would definitely stay there again on our next trip. Great location right at a bus stop from which to go anywhere in the city.

Our stay at the Residenza Gens Julia was wonderful! It is located just perfectly and close to all of the major sights. Urszula, the host, was just amazing - very friendly and super helpful. She also provided a very nice breakfast in the morning - fresh bread and pastries from a bakery nearby, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. Everything was fresh and high quality. Our room (triple room) was big, clean and comfortable and even had two bathrooms, which is very rare in EU. I honestly won't stay anywhere else in Rome!

This residence is all about the location! The room was beautifully decorated with antique and even the roof is beautiful. It's easy to access, as buses and trams pass by the Torre Argentina area, but it means that the buses, trams, ambulances, cars etc are really passing by the place (remember to bring the earplugs, if you're a light sleeper). We got what we expected: the view to the historic venue and countless cats. And Urszula is the best hostess there is! She gives here everything to make you feel like being at home.

My daughter and I loved staying here. It is not a hotel with 24 hour desk service so you will text when you are leaving the airport and they meet you at the door on arrival. Urzalas son met us and showed us everything and gave us the keys within 5 min if our arrival. The room was very spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. It was located right near a lot of sites. We walked a block to the bus station, about 10 min to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. We walked to the Coloseum in about 12-15 min and saw great sites along the way. We ate pizza from right next door that was delicious and walked to several restaurants that were very good. Breakfast is small but fine for our needs. Coffee, breads, cakes, cereal, yogurt. Do not expect a full American breakfast. Go out and eat the local food. We would absolutely stay here again if we return.

We ate pizza from right next door that was delicious and walked to several restaurants that were very good. Breakfast is small but fine for our needs. Coffee, breads, cakes, cereal, yogurt. Do not expect a full American breakfast. Go out and eat the local food. We would absolutely stay here again if we return.

Everything from our greeting to our departure exceeded expectations. Urzsula is an amazing host who goes over the top to make sure everything is perfect for you, and will go out of her way to guarantee a pleasant stay. The room was large, immaculate, and very comfortable. I can't say enough about Residenza Gens Julia, and Urzsula. As an added benefit, the Five Temples ruins are across the street, transportation and shopping are ample, the Colosseum and other major sites are within a modest walking distance, and be sure to have some of the amazing pizza at Pizza right next door.

I will be back to stay with Ursula and her son. They made every effort to make sure our stay was comfortable and happy. They are the loveliest, most helpful, gorgeous people. We had a lovely big room with many beautiful touches. The breakfast was delicious and varied. We welcomed the aircon as it was 38 outside. The residence was spotlessly clean, the water was potable and there were snacks and drinks in the fridge. Ursula helped us with the baggage lost by the airline/airports, with transport, and with reassurance and support. Our 3-night stay was part of a longer 32-day trip and it was an absolute highlight - an oasis of calm, comfort, and care. Thank you so much to everyone at Residenza Gens Julia!

Our stay at the Residenza Gens Julia was wonderful! It is located just perfectly and close to all of the major sights. Urszula, the host, was just amazing - very friendly and super helpful. She also provided a very nice breakfast in the morning - fresh bread and pastries from a bakery nearby, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. Everything was fresh and high quality. Our room (triple room) was big, clean and comfortable and even had two bathrooms, which is very rare in EU. I honestly won't stay anywhere else in Rome!

We only stayed here for 1 night to catch our flight the next day. Easy short ride from Roma Termini (we could have walked but it was very hot at 2pm). Our host Ursula’s son welcomed us at the door. Very friendly and gave us a short overview of the general area, how to use the coffee machine (they have Lavazza!) Breakfast was great, many many options. Our room was huge with 2 full bathrooms, very clean, beds/pillows were super comfy and AC was great (2 zones), shower was excellent. Right next door is a highly rated pizza place (many variety at reasonable prices), a restaurant where they make fresh pasta daily. 2 convenience stores within the same block. Even though it’s a busy neighborhood, we did not hear any noise in our room, we slept really well. Location was perfect, almost all major tourist spots are within walking distance. Met Ursula when checking out, lovely person, very caring, and gave us detailed directions on where to get a taxi for the airport. This is a good base if you want to spend a few days in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.

Ursula is truly one of the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. From check-in to check-out, she was available for our every need and could not have been more welcoming. The guest house is very conveniently located in the heart of Rome and walkable to all the major sites and attractions. The self service breakfast was fantastic and was very convenient for early mornings on the go. My husband and I loved our stay here and would absolutely recommend!

Lorenzo gave a full tour of the hotel, amenities as well as recommendations for restaurants in Rome. The continental breakfast was nice. The location afforded easy access to a number of tourist spots. Additionally, the taxi stand was close by.

The owner was lovely, and clearly wanted to do everything possible to make our stay perfect. We found the beds to be very narrow, and the breakfast pretty generic, but overall our stay was very nice.

My daughter and I loved staying here. It is not a hotel with 24 hour desk service so you will text when you are leaving the airport and they meet you at the door on arrival. Urzalas son met us and showed us everything and gave us the keys within 5 min if our arrival. The room was very spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. It was located right near a lot of sites. We walked a block to the bus station, about 10 min to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. We walked to the Coloseum in about 12-15 min and saw great sites along the way. Most of all, the location is unbeatable: One is in the center of Rome where all the major sights and shopping areas are walkable. Also, the pizza place on the righthand side right next to the Residenza is excellent.

From help with luggage, to walking directions, tips on what to watch for when getting taxis, to stocking common areas with drinks (including your preferences) and all sorts of charcuterie, breads, pastries and nuts, we wanted for nothing. It was such a warm atmosphere and Urszula was available by text/phone at any time. The location is fantastic with easy to moderate walking to most major attractions. Train station about 3.3km away, 10-15€ ride depending on traffic. And taxi stand right across the street if you need one (no waiting). If you don’t mind a B&B vibe, I highly recommend Residenza Gens Julia.

Not like other hotels in SO many good ways: - Greeted by Ursula like we were long lost family. - She brought in her son Lorenzo to check us in because he’s awesome. - This is a guest house, not a hotel. We had the full run of the fully stocked kitchen 24/7. - According to Lorenzo, whatever we wanted anytime was “OK”. And it was. Except that it was actually great. - Right outside our window was the ruins of the Area Sacra di Largo Argentina. Yes, the actual site of Julius Caesar’s murder. Right there. Right outside the window. Like other hotels in SO many good ways: - PERFECT location. Restaurants, shopping, history everywhere in every direction. - Clean room. - Great service. - Excellent prices. Huge value. We visited on foot in four days: Vatican City (including an actual papal mass in the square), the Colosseum, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, Trastevere, the Jewish Ghetto, Trevi Fountain, Castel Sant’Angelo and countless piazzas, churches, restaurants and shops.

This residence is all about the location! The room was beautifully decorated with antique and even the roof is beautiful. It's easy to access, as buses and trams pass by the Torre Argentina area, but it means that the buses, trams, ambulances, cars etc are really passing by the place (remember to bring the earplugs, if you're a light sleeper). We got what we expected: the view to the historic venue and countless cats. And Urszula is the best hostess there is! She gives here everything to make you feel like being at home.

Ursula and her two sons are excellent who made our staying were welcome and comfortable. Self-serve breakfast was flexible for me since I don't eat breakfast. The room was spotless and spacious which I have enough space for meditation and practicing yoga. The location was closed and walkable to the Pantheon, Campo de'Fiori, Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps and Piazza Venezia, and Colosseum. I took taxi to Vatican Museum which was around 10 minutes, but you also could walk 30 minutes to the museum. I highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing, very welcoming hosts, Urszula and Adam. Very spacious place. Clean, beautiful, with spectacular snacks/food/fruits/sweets, etc., great location. You are getting much more for the money than you expected.

Ursula is truly one of the best hosts I’ve ever had the pleasure of staying with. From check-in to check-out, she was available for our every need and could not have been more welcoming. The guest house is very conveniently located in the heart of Rome and walkable to all the major sites and attractions. The self service breakfast was fantastic and was very convenient for early mornings on the go. My husband and I loved our stay here and would absolutely recommend!

My daughter and I loved staying here. It is not a hotel with 24 hour desk service so you will text when you are leaving the airport and they meet you at the door on arrival. Urzalas son met us and showed us everything and gave us the keys within 5 min if our arrival. The room was very spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. It was located right near a lot of sites. We walked a block to the bus station, about 10 min to Trevi Fountain and Pantheon. We walked to the Coloseum in about 12-15 min and saw great sites along the way. We ate pizza from right next door that was delicious and walked to several restaurants that were very good. Breakfast is small but fine for our needs. Coffee, breads, cakes, cereal, yogurt. Do not expect a full American breakfast. Go out and eat the local food. We would absolutely stay here again if we return.

We experienced a fantastic stay at Residenza Gens Julia. Urszula the host is warm, kind, and very responsive via WhatsApp. The self-serve breakfast offerings have a wide range, have plenty of quantity, and are restocked well. Most of all, the location is unbeatable: One is in the center of Rome where all the major sights and shopping areas are walkable. Also, the pizza place on the righthand side right next to the Residenza is excellent.

The hosts, Urszula with the help of her son Lorenzo, were fantastic! From help with luggage, to walking directions, tips on what to watch for when getting taxis, to stocking common areas with drinks (including your preferences) and all sorts of charcuterie, breads, pastries and nuts, we wanted for nothing. It was such a warm atmosphere and Urszula was available by text/phone at any time. The location is fantastic with easy to moderate walking to most major attractions. Train station about 3.3km away, 10-15€ ride depending on traffic. And taxi stand right across the street if you need one (no waiting). If you don’t mind a B&B vibe, I highly recommend Residenza Gens Julia.

Our stay at the Residenza Gens Julia was wonderful! It is located just perfectly and close to all of the major sights. Urszula, the host, was just amazing - very friendly and super helpful. She also provided a very nice breakfast in the morning - fresh bread and pastries from a bakery nearby, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold cuts, etc. Everything was fresh and high quality. Our room (triple room) was big, clean and comfortable and even had two bathrooms, which is very rare in EU. I honestly won't stay anywhere else in Rome!

Urszula is the most gracious hostess! Always a smile and goes above and beyond what is expected! Great location…we walked everywhere! Coffee and light breakfast are included! Look out the window and see Largo di Argentina where Julius Caesar was assassinated.

We only stayed here for 1 night to catch our flight the next day. Easy short ride from Roma Termini (we could have walked but it was very hot at 2pm). Our host Ursula’s son welcomed us at the door. Very friendly and gave us a short overview of the general area, how to use the coffee machine (they have Lavazza!) Breakfast was great, many many options. Our room was huge with 2 full bathrooms, very clean, beds/pillows were super comfy and AC was great (2 zones), shower was excellent. Right next door is a highly rated pizza place (many variety at reasonable prices), a restaurant where they make fresh pasta daily. 2 convenience stores within the same block. Even though it’s a busy neighborhood, we did not hear any noise in our room, we slept really well. Location was perfect, almost all major tourist spots are within walking distance. Met Ursula when checking out, lovely person, very caring, and gave us detailed directions on where to get a taxi for the airport. This is a good base if you want to spend a few days in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay! Great location central to everywhere we wanted to go. Urszula and her two sons Davide and Lorenzo were so hospitable! Highly recommend eating at Nannarella in Treviste which is one of their recommendations. It took us 15min to walk there! The hotel is located across the street from the ruins where Julius Caesar was assassinated. The hotel is very charming above the best little pizza place in Rome! What a great trip! Thanks Urszula!

Absolutely wonderful stay! The location was perfect with walking distance to all, and around the corner from Largo Argentina. The room was very stylish and huge! Spotless and equipped with all amenities, and what truly made this place special was the hostess! She is the nicest person, so caring, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in her guests. Ursula went above and beyond in every way and made us feel incredibly welcome from the moment we arrived. This place is truly a jam! Highly recommended.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Gens Julia Hotel. Ursula and Davide were wonderful hosts. They were very welcoming, personable, and helpful. Our room and the bathroom were very clean. We really enjoyed breakfast each morning. There was good variety and you could help yourself to whatever was available throughout the day and evening. Whenever we had any questions about how to get somewhere or what restaurants to try, Ursula and Davide were so helpful. We also appreciated how kind Ursula and Davide were. And we also appreciated the convenience of the elevator. The location of Gens Julia is excellent. The Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, and Trastevere were very close, as well as many restaurants and coffee shops; all within walking distance. We highly recommend staying at the Gens Julia. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Ursula and Davide!

The room was beautiful and spacious with an amazing view. The central location made it easy for us to get to many different destinations. The staff went above and beyond for us. We mentioned we were on our honeymoon and they left some prosecco and a cake. Upon learning I was Celiac they went and got another gluten free cake. We loved our stay and heartily recommend it to everyone.

Ursula is wonderfully kind and strives to make our stay stress free and full of ease. the shareed kitchen area and brakfast foods were perfect. Great location as well. Would recommend staying here for a visit to Rome!
