The property was dirty, the pool had been closed off, advertised a restaurant but there was no restaurant available. The pictures on the website did not match what the room was! There was no mirror in the bathroom or toilet paper holder. The toilet paper was on the back of the toilet. There was barely room to walk around the bed. The bed was terribly hard. The room did not justify $148. We will not stay there again.

Fantastic view of the Atlantic Ocean! Property and room were on the shabby side, but everything in the room worked properly. Great seafood restaurant on site. My room rate was a real value.

Like it is said- you get what you pay for- this property needs a lot of TLC and upgrades- it is in no way clean- the coffee and ice machines have mold- the floors are sticky- the lights don’t always work- the staff is unprofessional and argumentative- the pool is dirty and very rough on the bottom- the beds are old with pillows like pancakes and linens worse than a hospital- the only good part was that it was located on A1A and we could see and walk to the beach in less than a minute. I will not stay here again- but of course please go see for yourself if you choose as these are only my opinions.

Hotel is right in Flagler Beach so it’s a great area. I stayed in building B which is more of a motel for extended stays. Clean room but needed to be painted. Building A looked much cleaner around the outside. The pool was fantastic! Very clean and family friendly.

Funky little place. It’s a bit abused, a few holes in walls, no shower curtain. The Flagger Seafood restaurant made it all worth it.

Rooms were bare minimum. No coffe pot or coffee. No extras .Paint chipping on walls and doors carper musty smell and dirty. The people next door loud all night and smoked outside our door which smoke smell creeped into our room. I guess you get what you pay for. We got it cheap and it was just that.

Absolutely disgusting debt cockroaches everywhere. The hot water heater door was wide open with a fire burning with trash and garbage everywhere when I called customer service to complain about an a terrible reservation we book with them they asked me what’s wrong. Why don’t you talk to the manager at the front desk? I’m very disappointed in the response from Expedia. I will never book for you guys again and the hotel was absolutely disgusting, dead cockroaches, dirty stain sheets, broken furniture, tape on the walls never again will I book with your company very disappointed and I will let all my friends and family know and I’ll definitely be posting this on social media With the response from your company when I called for help

The property is run down, dirty inside and out. There were no globes on any light fixtures, bathroom fixtures were rusty and not secure. Shower wall was split and falling in and the floor of the shower was soft.

Room was dirty, saw many roaches, no hot water and no desire to resolve the issue when notified. Mattress and bedding smelled of urine on bed closest to door. View from room is breathtaking and we enjoyed the bench outside.

Awful, dirty, disgusting, would NOT bring my dog here. Place is in disrepair and quite NASTY. Mold on mirror, cracked electrical covers, dirty microwave, dirty floor, dirty sink, dirty carpet, smelly room. Not suitable for human or canine.. Do NOT recommend Topaz Hotel to anyone..

The staff is nice and willing to make your stay pleasant. Excellent location ocean front. However the property lacks maintenance. It is obvious how cheap they are and dont want to spend money in new stuff. Examples: electric outlets corroded, bed sheets, covers and towels are broken or with spots. Furniture with spots , microwave corroded inside, wooden floors peeling off, ect.

Wasn't any breakfast mor on site laundry area as advertised. Room had holes in the wall, bathroom floor & tub was filthy, & I always check under mattresses because my fiancé & I got bed bugs the last time we stayed there, it had dead bugs, hairs, & dead skin under it. You could tell it hadn't been cleaned from underneath in a while. I don't think I will be staying here again. I thought we'd give it another try because of thr good rates & great location, but it's just so disappointing it's just not worth it. We normally don't leave a hotel til check out time, but, I was so disgusted with the filth we left early that morning.

Everything was filthy. The mirror in the bathroom had toothpaste splatters, the floors were dirty, and the bathtub and sheets both had sand in them. We asked for another room and he showed us two. Both were varying degrees of disgusting. They all had missing smoke detectors, broken and rusted furnishings. We asked for a refund and were refused, but we left anyway. It wasn't worth it!

The room was in somewhat poor condition with the sink clogged and holes in the walls very poorly fixed and we only stayed for the weekend byt were never given clean towles or anything. But it was across from the beach and it was very beautiful

The location is convenient and ocean view is beautiful. However I need to point out some areas of opportunity that if taken care of will bring up the property to a more attractive position. The property has poor maintenance and cleanliness. It needs renovation as it is outdated. It has potential for improvement mainly in the facilities and furniture aspects. I observed also some safety hazards around the property as electrical outlets and outdoor lamps corroded and hangin. Some parts of the 2nd floor patios were soft. I stayed in rooms 305, 311, 308 and 111. Room 111 is recently renewed but it is extremely small and located in a noisy corner. Room 305 was a disaster, carpets were dirty, rotten and full of spots everywhere. The furniture - sofa was dirty with spots and too many items in the room that didnt even make sense. The towels in every room are old and have spots. Room 311 has a nice partial ocean view from the patio but needs attention to cleanliness and renovation. I observed on the patio there were some sharp rusted pieces of metal in one of the corners of the outdoor patio. Room 308 has an espectacular ocean view from the outdoor patio. It has been renovated but needs attention on some safety hazard issues in the bathroom. The floor next to the shower has become soft under the tiles resulting in broken tiles that has not been repaired. The floor has some damaged areas that the wood has been peeled off that may result in potential safety hazard for the guests.

The first room we got was less than appealing. There were supposed to be two lamps on the wall on either side of the bed, one was missing and wires were just hanging. There was only a window unit for air conditioning. No trash can, no microwave, an old shower curtain slung up partially covering a broken blinds window. The room was nothing like the room we reaerved so we spoke to staff and we were upgraded to a double full room instead of single and the new room had a kitchenette, this room while more satisfactory than the first the door didnt close all the way, it could be pulled open half an inch, the deadbolt didn't work, the door was barely held on by half screwed in screws, the sliding door didn't have a pole to put in to stop it from being opened. The location was perfect, the staff were completely friendly and understanding, but the rooms were less than ideal with some seriously sketchy neighbors.

This is a very old two-story motel/hotel. Yes, it may look worn on the outside, what doesnt at that age, especially after decades of coastal wind/salt/storm beatings? . I like to think this place has good bones and is a nostalgia-themed visit. It sits right on A1A facing an unobstructed view of the ocean. It takes you back to 1940s when more of Fla’s coastline looked like this. No highrises and mega hotels blocking the scenic view from everyone else. There is no other place in FL left like this! While old, the interior of our room has been cared for with the most important updates made: New flooring, new bathroom vanity; good water pressure, a decent size mini-fridge, and wonderfully comfortable beds. We booked for one night on a prayer it wouldnt be a disaster. We ended up staying 3 nts. We were provided clean towels every day without asking. Office staff was very nice as was our housekeeper. Our room was clean. Only items which need improvement: New laminate floor swept but needed a good mopping; chair by window needs retired; stairwell and walkways could use a good powerwashing. If you are used to newest chain hotels with their amenities and dont like old, this may not be the place for you. If you don’t mind stepping back in time and can overlook this ol’ gal’s age spots, she’s got a million dollar view abailable on a working man’s budget.
This is a very old two-story motel/hotel. Yes, it may look worn on the outside, what doesnt at that age, especially after decades of coastal wind/salt/storm beatings? . I like to think this place has good bones and is a nostalgia-themed visit. It sits right on A1A facing an unobstructed view of the ocean. It takes you back to 1940s when more of Fla’s coastline looked like this. No highrises and mega hotels blocking the scenic view from everyone else. There is no other place in FL left like this! While old, the interior of our room has been cared for with the most important updates made: New flooring, new bathroom vanity; good water pressure, a decent size mini-fridge, and wonderfully comfortable beds. We booked for one night on a prayer it wouldnt be a disaster. We ended up staying 3 nts. We were provided clean towels every day without asking. Office staff was very nice as was our housekeeper. Our room was clean. Only items which need improvement: New laminate floor swept but needed a good mopping; chair by window needs retired; stairwell and walkways could use a good powerwashing. If you are used to newest chain hotels with their amenities and dont like old, this may not be the place for you. If you don’t mind stepping back in time and can overlook this ol’ gal’s age spots, she’s got a million dollar view abailable on a working man’s budget.

Grand old house that one of the founding fathers of the city originally built. That house which has some rooms in it is flanked by 2 mid century more traditional hotel buildings. I stayed in the second. The room was large, new LVT flooring and the baths have been recently redone. Good value for the money considering how much and air bnb properties were in the area. The pool is real and very nice. 94 steps to the beach as well!

Love that Flagler Fish Company is located in House. The actual motel is in fairly bad repair. All doors, front and back porch were terrible. Front didn’t shut without slamming and porch slider would hardly move. Everything needs a little updating. Tried to put me in room that didn’t have any amenities that were on webpage. Told them it was our anniversary, nothing was done to make our stay special. All around cheap motel

The best part is a fantastic view of the ocean from the second floor. The guy at the desk was very pleasant. The price is well below anything else. The propery itself is old and a little bit shabby. The room's walls and doors had dirty spots. The rooms are clean where it counts, floors, sheets, towels and bathroom surfaces. Inexplicably, there was no shower curtain. The housekeeper said that "they" weren't bringing shower curtains, possibly meaning the laundry service? I have an idea: go to Dollar Tree and get some temporary ones for a dollar twenty-five. Still, the place is not so bad. I would come back for that view. I don't need fancy. Great restaurant on site.

It was nice to have ocean views. However, there literally were no light bulbs in the 2 lights. The condition of the room was very poor, cracks in walls, ceilings, bathroom was old and damaged, outside roof was damaged and dangling. No effort made to for comfort like pictures on the walls, some of the towels were stained.

We had higher hopes than we should have had apparently. The property is very much run down. They do have a pool which is nice. The service was not good. We paid for an upgraded room with the kitchenette. Apparently what that means is a refrigerator and microwave. The room was very dingy and dirty. The bathroom vanity was falling apart. There was a mirror leaning against the wall in the room. The balcony door was nearly impossible to open, and wouldn’t close all the way. The front door wouldn’t lock unless you lifted on it. Our toilet clogged. I had to go to the check in office to get help (no phone in the room). They brought a plunger, handed it to my wife, and left. While I’m reminded that you get what you pay for this just wasn’t a pleasant experience. There is a restaurant on premises, but we opted to not even try it.

I stay here quite a bit and it's decent. The staff is friendly, for the most part. The location is super convenient. Beautiful views being on A1A. However they NEED some serious updating in a lot of their rooms. And to be honest they should have more housekeeping staff.

I am handicap and asked for help to my room with my one luggage. The guy working check in asked me if I was going to pay him for it. I decided to try to get the luggage on my own and asked where my room was located. When I asked for clarification he stated I was asking too many questions.

Front desk clerk never greeted me. Made me feel like I was in the wrong place completely. After checking in he points to a door and says keep to the right and that was all. Found it very strange he didn’t warn us you have to walk thru the busy dining room for the attached restaurant to go upstairs. Room was very dusty and dirty and towels were not clean. Very weird experience. All that being said the old house was amazing with all the antiques and wall art. Pool was also nice and right across from the beach were definitely highlights.

This is a family run place. Although its an older hotel its very clean. This is probably one of the only hotels in the area where my kids walk barefoot and thier feet dont get black from the floor they clean pretty good there. The only issue on the property is parking. They have a restaurant there thats very popular so if you come in at dinner time you cant park anywhere . But thats not a bad thing . when we go to flagler this is a go to for us

Very sad to say, I will not be coming back to The Topaz after many years of reserving rooms there for friends or family that come into town, I would always take them to The Topaz for their stay. I hadn't been there with friends or familly for about 7-8 months max. Last time I was there, they were remodeling. Thought it would be really nice. Room was dirty, no remote, and it was literally 60° in the room when it was quite chilly outside. I put the heat on which came out luke warm all night. When I asked for a blanket for my guest and I for both beds, we were only given one. Manager said there were not anymore. I gave up the blanket to my guest. So, I was very cold all night! The manager was very short and brasive with all his answers. Never once smiled or even said thank you. Extremely disappointed with this stay and very embassed with my guest having to experience such rudeness and lack of accommodations. Also, when I turned on the main light when we first got there, not only was the light super super bright, so did the microwave, and the TV. After we finally got a remote to turn channels, we still could only watch TV with the big and bright light shing in pur eyes right next to the TV. Making it too difficult to watch TV. When we tried to just turn out the light we had to turn off the TV as well by the switch. So we were not able to watch TV at all! As I said earlier, very disappointed in the accomadations and even moreso disappointed in the very rude manager PJ. Neveragain

Like it is said- you get what you pay for- this property needs a lot of TLC and upgrades- it is in no way clean- the coffee and ice machines have mold- the floors are sticky- the lights don’t always work- the staff is unprofessional and argumentative- the pool is dirty and very rough on the bottom- the beds are old with pillows like pancakes and linens worse than a hospital- the only good part was that it was located on A1A and we could see and walk to the beach in less than a minute. I will not stay here again- but of course please go see for yourself if you choose as these are only my opinions.

The property was dirty, the pool had been closed off, advertised a restaurant but there was no restaurant available. The pictures on the website did not match what the room was! There was no mirror in the bathroom or toilet paper holder. The toilet paper was on the back of the toilet. There was barely room to walk around the bed. The bed was terribly hard. The room did not justify $148. We will not stay there again.

I think the only reason it was enjoyable is because it’s walkable to local bars and restaurants and it is directly across from the beach. Other than the CRAZY holiday rates they throw out, the normal day to day rates are great for being across from the beach. Pretty solid and KIND staff though

I was in room 201 The room over looked the ocean!! It was by far the best room in the faculty at the end of the top floor— I was old and needs some renovation - as the cabinet in the bathroom was broken. It was a very old hotel - my patron view was amazing but the breakfast place in the hotel was amazing - great food - good atmosphere I would stay here again

The motel needs updating it’s very dated with rusted bathroom faucets. The location is awesome right across the street from the beach and there are a lot of restaurants and bars and shops within walking distance. We arrived around 9 pm and only booked for one night because we were leaving for a cruise the following day.

Nuestro cuarto no estuvo tan mal solo el baño necesita una mejor limpieza, pero la habitacion de nuestros amigos fue dentro del edificio donde esta el restaurante y tuvieron una mala experiencia los cuartos son viejos y se siente pesado el ambiente un señor dijo que se siente embrujado. Solo fuimos una noche pero no volvemos , lo unico bueno que tiene es la ubicacion. Ellos pidieron cambio de habitacion para el edificio de al lado y gracias a Dios se la cambiaron.

Do not book your stay based on the pictures. Multiple floor tiles missing, rush on water spigot, bathroom full of black chalk (not sure if it was mold or mildew). There was no communication on how to get new towels or garbage removed. Pool has rocky bottom and sides to the point where it’s hard to even be in it. There is no bar or lounge they are talking about the restaurant that is attached to the main building. You would be better staying in your car.

Literally, our room was dirty (had food left on the table) and we had no microwave, no fridge, no end tables, no working lamps, no working TV, no ice machine, and no washer and dryer. And, the pool was not open because it was not up to code. The power flickered on and off during storms continuously. We asked for a refund and only got a credit. Such a disappointment.
Literally, our room was dirty (had food left on the table) and we had no microwave, no fridge, no end tables, no working lamps, no working TV, no ice machine, and no washer and dryer. And, the pool was not open because it was not up to code. The power flickered on and off during storms continuously. We asked for a refund and only got a credit. Such a disappointment.
