What an amazing place to stay to enjoy the cloud forest, experience nature and recharge. Zach and the staff and Jose the bird watch tour guide were so amazing and accommodating. Will definitely be back.

Estuvimos en Costa Rica por temas profesionales y aprovechamos de escapar algunos días de una semana intensa de trabajo. El Hotel Villa Blanca fue un lugar ideal para poder disfrutar de la naturaleza y amabilidad del pueblo costarricense sin la necesidad de moverse de un lugar a otro. Es un lugar aislada y autosuficiente. Cuenta con un bosque conservado con un guía excelente sobre la flora y fauna. Hay varios senderos auto-guiados sin mayor complejidad. Permiten apreciar la biodiversidad presente. Cuenta con un restaurante de muy buena calidad y una oferta interesante. Es una buena opción para desconectar. Lo mas complicado es los últimos 20 kilómetros para llegar al hotel debido al camino en mediocre estado.

Villa Blanca is a fantastic, eco friendly resort located in a cloud rain forest. Extremely customer service focused team, led by Marco E. and staff. Highly recommended and we hope to return in the future. Skilled birding and biologist guides, great trails and a lively spa too! Food quality was exceptional.

Tucked away, a long bumpy road to get back there. Once there very quiet small resort and very friendly staff. Not so many people, more older adults on our trip. Restaurant on site was excellent, very reasonable prices. Fireplaces in the room was a nice touch for a very rustic experience.

Beautiful hotel surrounded by forest. Excellent onsite restaurant. Friendly staff and well kept facilities. The location is remote and about 8km of road are not in great condition, be aware of this before booking.

Quiet, Nature, Relax but no pool. The overall experience was excellent if you are wanting to disconnect and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. My wife and I enjoyed walking the trails (in the morning due to rainy conditions later in the day). The grounds were well kept, and the rooms were simple and clean. We toured each room category, and found them to all be spacious (even the queen room). The rooms with whirlpool tubs were nice if you like that sort of thing. The whirlpool in the suits can fit two people of average size. The Silencio, family, and presidential have two bathroom; one with whirlpool and the other with roomy shower. I think for two people, the JR would be perfect and the queen a bit smaller, but nice as well. Most all rooms face the forest with no view of the mountains or valley. The exceptions are the Silencio suits 34 & 35 which have a nice view of the chapel. Also, we understand that cabin 16 has a nice view of the valley and mountains although we did not visit this room personally. The presidential is a splurge and would be nice for someone who needs to conduct business. It is also the only room we saw with a screened patio looking out to the forest. The JR suit room has a slightly elevated patio which is unique to this room. If you need a covered patio to sit outside (private), book a suit. If you don't then a queen or twin will suffice. We found all of the restaurant food to be great with nice presentation (specialty coffee high price).

What an incredible experience! The best staff ever everyone super friendly and helpful! They made our anniversary night super especial! From the spa to dinner to breakfast the best experience! Room amazing ! nice hot tub , amazing fire pit! One of the best hotel experiences ever had and we travel all over the world! Will recommend to everyone to come and stay in this hotel !

The property is amazing, surrounding nature anywhere you look. Perfect place for a short stay, not much to do out of the hotel grounds. The bar and the restaurant have great food and drink options, not very pricey (drinks are $10-12, main dishes $15-$30 in Dec 2023).

Vackert ställe uppe i moln berg. Molnen låg fram till 11 tiden och sen kom solen. Vi stannade 3 nätter. Maten på restaurangen var väldigt god och service personalen trevliga. Stugan var mysig, öppen spis, två gungstolar framför den. Fanns liten terrass med två stolar och ett bord där jag satt och drack morgonkaffe och tittade på fåglar. Rum städades inte, bäddades inte och det var lite konstigt( vi blev informerade vid ankomsten att det tillkommer en avgift, och det var ingen missförstånd). Hade fantastiskt trevligt och kunnig fågelguide José. Såg mer än 50 olika arter den morgon, o efter det åt vi lunch på lokal restaurang som serverade gudomlig mat.

DON’T BOOK IT ! Absolutely no way this is a 4 star property. Our room didn’t even have a chair. The only place to sit was on the bed! There was no TV, no mini fridge, no desk, no AC, no power outlets near the bed. Didn’t even have a toilet paper holder! This room may have been a 2 star accommodation. And the ROAD…… The road to get to this place was literally 5 miles of potholes. This was the worst arrival experience at any hotel.

The whirlpool in the suits can fit two people of average size. The Silencio, family, and presidential have two bathroom; one with whirlpool and the other with roomy shower. I think for two people, the JR would be perfect and the queen a bit smaller, but nice as well. Most all rooms face the forest with no view of the mountains or valley. The exceptions are the Silencio suits 34 & 35 which have a nice view of the chapel. Also, we understand that cabin 16 has a nice view of the valley and mountains although we did not visit this room personally. The presidential is a splurge and would be nice for someone who needs to conduct business. It is also the only room we saw with a screened patio looking out to the forest. The JR suit room has a slightly elevated patio which is unique to this room. If you need a covered patio to sit outside (private), book a suit. If you don't then a queen or twin will suffice. We found all of the restaurant food to be great with nice presentation (specialty coffee high price).

Vackert ställe uppe i moln berg. Molnen låg fram till 11 tiden och sen kom solen. Vi stannade 3 nätter. Maten på restaurangen var väldigt god och service personalen trevliga. Stugan var mysig, öppen spis, två gungstolar framför den. Fanns liten terrass med två stolar och ett bord där jag satt och drack morgonkaffe och tittade på fåglar. Rum städades inte, bäddades inte och det var lite konstigt( vi blev informerade vid ankomsten att det tillkommer en avgift, och det var ingen missförstånd). Hade fantastiskt trevligt och kunnig fågelguide José. Såg mer än 50 olika arter den morgon, o efter det åt vi lunch på lokal restaurang som serverade gudomlig mat.

Villa Blanca is a fantastic, eco friendly resort located in a cloud rain forest. Extremely customer service focused team, led by Marco E. and staff. Highly recommended and we hope to return in the future. Skilled birding and biologist guides, great trails and a lively spa too! Food quality was exceptional.

Beautiful mountain hotel , very peaceful and enjoyable. Walks in the green tropical forest. Breakfast wasn´t the best. Even though we were the only ones in the dining room, the waiter didn´t remember small requests. But the place is awesome!

The Villa Blanca is an out of the way oasis. However, the road to get there is a Costa Rican nightmare. The new owner hopes to rectify that in the future. The food was very good and service very attentive. There are few activities here, but a wonderful way to relax for a day or two.

Estuvimos en Costa Rica por temas profesionales y aprovechamos de escapar algunos días de una semana intensa de trabajo. El Hotel Villa Blanca fue un lugar ideal para poder disfrutar de la naturaleza y amabilidad del pueblo costarricense sin la necesidad de moverse de un lugar a otro. Es un lugar aislada y autosuficiente. Cuenta con un bosque conservado con un guía excelente sobre la flora y fauna. Hay varios senderos auto-guiados sin mayor complejidad. Permiten apreciar la biodiversidad presente. Cuenta con un restaurante de muy buena calidad y una oferta interesante. Es una buena opción para desconectar. Lo mas complicado es los últimos 20 kilómetros para llegar al hotel debido al camino en mediocre estado.

DON’T BOOK IT ! Absolutely no way this is a 4 star property. Our room didn’t even have a chair. The only place to sit was on the bed! There was no TV, no mini fridge, no desk, no AC, no power outlets near the bed. Didn’t even have a toilet paper holder! This room may have been a 2 star accommodation. And the ROAD…… The road to get to this place was literally 5 miles of potholes. This was the worst arrival experience at any hotel.

Amazing place to stay, feels like literally living in the clouds. Weather can be a little unpredictable and adds to the mystique of the place. The last 30 mins of the drive to the place can be a little rough, recommend getting there before sunset on your first time.

Quiet, Nature, Relax but no pool. The overall experience was excellent if you are wanting to disconnect and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. My wife and I enjoyed walking the trails (in the morning due to rainy conditions later in the day). The grounds were well kept, and the rooms were simple and clean. We toured each room category, and found them to all be spacious (even the queen room). The rooms with whirlpool tubs were nice if you like that sort of thing. Et utrolig roligt hotel. Der er ingen forstyrrelser, bare fred og ro til at være sammen. Hjælpsomt personale, lækker mad. Et af vores to værelser havde et gardin der ikke fungerede og begge værelser blev øjeblikkeligt opgraderet. Området er fugtigt og det kan mærkes i værelserne, men kan bestemt anbefales. Fed biograf!

Property designed and made for people Who want to relax.Well kept, limited menu and my only suggestion is to stop calling the guest to their rooms to remind the different eating times. It can be interrupting and is unnecessary. Decorations are very will developed in Costa Rican style and very fine test. Wi fi is excelente and the best of the resort is the personnel, just and outstanding group people. Woul have liked a wider range of options to choose from. Climate is fresh and a little humid but very characteristic of the area and not to the point of feeling uncomfortable. The quiality of the food, although limited, well preseted and very tasty. If I had to spend time relaxing and with family or my partner looking for rest and quiet, it’s very recomendable.

The room was in good condition, but things were old, but it was clean and it was comfortable. Had a nice fireplace. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was OK. Dinner was all right. Breakfast was fine however, the hotel is located in a very remote area and to get there, we had to travel on a very steep narrow curvy road that took us a very long time and then as we made the turn to get to the hotel, the road was unpaved and filled with potholes and really craters, and the 4 miles took us nearly an hour to travel so we arrived to the hotel is in the cloud forest. It was totally fogged in. We could barely see it. Luckily, there were some lights on. It was rainy, drizzly, foggy and chilly. The hotel was expensive and I don’t think that it was really a good value for the money we paid for it. We wouldn’t return here.
The room was in good condition, but things were old, but it was clean and it was comfortable. Had a nice fireplace. The staff was pleasant and helpful. The restaurant was OK. Dinner was all right. Breakfast was fine however, the hotel is located in a very remote area and to get there, we had to travel on a very steep narrow curvy road that took us a very long time and then as we made the turn to get to the hotel, the road was unpaved and filled with potholes and really craters, and the 4 miles took us nearly an hour to travel so we arrived to the hotel is in the cloud forest. It was totally fogged in. We could barely see it. Luckily, there were some lights on. It was rainy, drizzly, foggy and chilly.
