Marco Polo Motel

We needed an affordable, clean, comfortable, safe place with on-site free parking to stay in the city that is close to Fred Hutchinson and UW Medical Center. (Both are only 10 min drive away) Marco Polo Motel checked ALL those boxes. The bed was amazingly comfortable, they also provide plenty of pillows (most motels only give you 2 mediocre ones) not here; we got 4 nice big fluffy pillows. Room also has a really comfortable love seat and table and chairs to sit at. Basic mini fridge and microwave. No coffee pot, but fresh coffee available in the lobby, powder creamer and sugar (no splenda) TV was adequate; no frills basic stations (no Showtime/HBO) which we're fine with. TV was a bit 'glitchy' at times, occasionally it pixelated out, but came right back on. Free on-site parking is room adjacent well lit and safe (which can be hard to find in the city) Room had plenty of windows, light and airy, decent black out curtains. (No scenic view to speak of) Ice machine was out of order, and vending machine only took cash (no cards) There's a 7-11& small grocery close by. Papa Murphy does deliver to motel; but be sure to get your order correct the first time as thier by phone order system is routed through an India call center. We wanted to add/modify our order and couldn't as we didn't know to which local store our order went to and they had no record of our order. Street and air noise are present; but not terrible. If you need a basic, comfortable safe place to stay this is it.

Easy checkin..friendly staff..ample parking..hot shower..comfortable bed and pillows..all this at a great price..only drawback is its on a busy road though couldnt hear traffic from inside our room!

Clerk was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming when I checked in. Bed was very clean and comfortable. Microwave didn’t work and looked like it had been tossed over a cliff. Nice solo stay. Good enough for me and free safe parking.

Great staff. The 2 employees I interacted with were absolutely 10/10. The location is great! I felt safe, even at night. Walking distance from dozens of restaurants, the bridge troll and the zoo. Park at the hotel and just walk to everything! Other than traffic, the nights were quiet. The hotel itself is a little old but it is not dilapidated, the tub and tile were vintage, but not in a gross way. They had a welcoming lobby with coffee in the morning as well as pamphlets for tourists, landscaping was some colorful wildflowers and there’s plenty of well lit parking spots!

I was not aware that it was a two story structure, with no elevator. If I had know the layout in advance, I would have requested ground floor. Staff was excellent, it was a decent experience minus the stairs.

Basic motel but good enough at this price point. No amenities to speak of. Curtains in bad shape. No coffee in room. Small towels. Traffic noise late and early.

All staff we spoke to were very friendly and gave us great food and drink recommendations. Parking free and right outside our room. Around a 10minute walk down to freemont which has bars, restaurants, supermarkets, breweries and lots more. Area felt very safe. Drive or bus will take around 10mins into the city, we walked and it took around an hour with some great views and nice places to grab a coffee along the water front. Great value option very close to Seattle

Clean room, parking in site easy check in and out. Friendly staff.

This place was close to where I needed to work so that was convenient. Guests can use the washer and dryer ($3.00 each, quarters only) so that was convenient too.

The room was clean. I felt very safe. They asked if I wanted room service during my 4 night stay.

This motel is 2 blocks from the bus stop so getting into downtown Seattle was super easy. The motel is old and a little run down but works fine for a short stay in Seattle. The linens, counters and bathroom were all clean but the floor of the suite was very dirty. The soles of our feet and socks were black each night. The cleaning staff needs to wash the floors more often. Finally, the website said there was breakfast but only coffee in the lobby was available.

The toilet was not securely bolted to the floor. It was too low, too. The sink leaked. The shower stall was dirty. There was a moldy smell in the room.

I was messaged at 4pm asking when I would be checking in. I responded by 6pm. They then informed me that they were closing early at 5pm instead if 10pm and to text them when I arrived. When I arrived I text the number and they asked for a copy if my drivers license to be texted to them. I was VERY uncomfortable with that and told them so. Whoever was texting me (I still dont know who it was) told me that I would have to provide ID at check in no matter what. I understand tHat, but its normally a human not some random # via text. I blurred out my ID and sent it. I was able to get into my room. Once I took my shoes off my feet were filthy. The pillows on the bed smelt stale, not like any sort of fabric wash. Thankfully, I had my own blanket to throw over the pillows to be able to lay down. I booked this hotel because my sister was having surgery at the UW, 12 mins away. I wasnt even comfortable to take a shower in room 102 as the shower was gross!!! Save your money!!

The room was filthy. The bathroom smelled like pee and the bed had hairs in it when we opened it. I felt like I was going to get a bacterial infection from staying there. I hate to be so blunt but it was so dirty and terrible. Staff was friendly and fine but jeez it was so gross.

It is an older motel but was very clean. The staff was extremely friendly and went above and beyond for us. Definitely would stay again.

The rooms were filthy. Floors not cleaned. Toilet dirty. 1940s appliances. This place was disgusting. Avid it at all costs.

Far from everything, noisy traffic all night, very hot, and the bathroom was very dirty.

You would never guess this hotel is on a highway. The room was super quiet, clean and big enough for our stay. Only down side was that it was a little warm in the room and it took many hours to cool it down. Close to the zoo, Fremont and the lake. We would stay again

I was very pleased overall with my stay. They're in the middle of a remodel, but it was clean. The beds are comfortable. There's a dividing wall between the beds just by a little bit, but enough that you can't see each other if you're laying down. The staff was friendly. The check-in was quick for the price point. I expected a lot less and got much more. The Wi-Fi was poor but that is about the only thing that could be better for that price point.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and clean, although a bit outdated. The bed was very comfortable. Cons: on a noisy road; an unidentified, consistent sound that could be heard; and a bright light coming in through the bathroom window.

Staff were very friendly. The motel was a bit run down, but ok for one night. Cable TV didn’t work well. Wi-Fi connection was good.

The motel is on a busy, high speed stroad with very loud traffic. I had a decent room that was as far from the traffic as possible, but open windows are an issue for noise. The AC unit - as an alternative to open windows - was aging and loud and squeaky. Overall, visitors will be here because of the relative low cost (though still very expensive by most standards). The area seemed safe enough.

Can't say enough good about the staff. And their native language was english! Rooms were good, older but remodeled. Shower, no tub.

This is a very old-style property. Nice people, working to upgrade things, but it’s got a very retro feel. Noisy air conditioner, and the cable was iffy. Still, the bed was very comfortable, and the property felt safe.

After checking in at the office my expectations were quite low but actually, you can tell they've done a lot of work on these rooms. We had an absolutely perfect stay. Rooms were quite comfortable and staff was super friendly. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

I stayed there for one night and accidentally lost my wallet there. Daniel found my wallet and was able to hold it until I could have it picked up. Super friendly and I felt good knowing it was in safe hands. I got it back and I’ll be back!

Front desk staff was friendly and helpful upon check in. However, arriving back to room after spending time in Seattle we discovered the air conditioning was not working, that staff member was rude and claimed there was nothing he could do about it. He came to room and wiggled the button, cold air worked for about 5 minutes. He had already claimed there was notjing else he could do so we just endured the terribly hot room till morning. Road out front is extremely busy. Entire room is very dated.

The front desk was great! The clerk was friendly and knew what she was doing! They had my mom authorize the stay and her debit card before we even got there so the check-in was perfect!

Check in efficient and easy. Daniel very pleasant and accomodating our entire stay.

The staff was particularly accommodating and able to give us good service in answering questions and giving us help based on their knowledge of the area and what our needs were. Our stay was pleasant and we were pleased with the accommodations. If needed, we would definitely consider staying at the Marco Polo again.

No one in the office to check us in. No hair dryer. Too much noise from street. Man outside on property screaming and yelling most the evening. Possibly a homeless person.

The staff here are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure everything is good. It’s a super basic motel, but everything was clean and the location was great for walking to Fremont or Wallingford.

Friendly family-run motel. Just over a mile to University of Washington campus. Easy parking. Good access to everywhere via Aurora Blvd. Spacious rooms.

A nice hotel within easy reach of downtown (just 6 minutes on the E line bus!) Nestled in the suburbs with plenty of local stores a short walk away. Friendly staff who even gave me a snack for my journey ‘to the next oasis’. It’s located on a major road, but the rooms have good soundproofing. Would happily stay here again.

Great customer service. The location was super, on a direct bus line into town and very easy to get back from after a concert. Felt quite safe. It's on a bit of a busy road but not noisy enough to impact sleep at all. The room was dated, but clean. Perfect for a stopover in Seattle.

The room was pretty much what was expected for the price. The area was safe and the room was surprisingly quiet. No made service for the stay which was odd. There are restaurants close by on Freemont and you can get coffee in the morning after 8. The zoo is within walking distance and the #5 bus on Freemont takes you right downtown.

The motel offers a clean, ordinary, fairly standard motel room. The desk chair and a bench, both with leather seats were a surprise luxe touch.(Don't know if all rooms have such.) No microwave. The motel is right on a highway (crossable only via pedestrian overpass). Almost no stores, groceries, supplies, bars or restaurants within a walk. Only drive or take the bus.

I took public transportation to the property and found there were no places to eat nearby. If you come by car no problem as parking is included and restaurants are not that far distant by vehicle. The hostess who checked me in and out was most accommodating to my request to upgrade to a room with an extra bed due to visiting family. Her friendliness was most appreciated as well.

What a great and affordable hotel in the best neighborhood in Seattle. The staff is super helpful and friendly. The rooms are Quaint and clean. It’s located within walking distance of all the shops, restaurants and cafes you could ever need.
