Pet friendly and walking distance to ocean.

Great property, staff, and room. Also it was nice that we could have our dog with us. I have really enjoyed my stay here and will be back next time we are in Shell Beach :)

Only about 10 rooms. Very limited parking, one night i had ro park on the street--but it was easy and very secure.

We love staying here because of the location to restaurants and walking. The bed was comfortable but a better coffeemaker would be nice. Also, the pet fee is $35 compared to $20 at most places.

Unusual check-in, in that woman at desk had to call someone to check me in and then that person had to take my Visa card # via phone in order to charge me extra amount for dog.

Nice place to stay. Came with 3 adults and lived being able to shut a door between the 2 beds. Nothing extra. For example: Keurig but no k cup coffee pods. Fridge and microwave, but no safe. Lots of outlets, but some are exposed ( I will post pictures). Nice bathroom but dingey shower curtain. Doors between rooms were very thin. All in all, the lady upfront was nice and to the point. Would stay here again. Location was wonderful. Several restaurants and cafes within a 5 minute walk. Parking was free and plentiful.

Good stay over night, it’s small and parking is small too but it was clean. Perfect for one! Coffee shop right next door and restaurants to walk to as well as just a few blocks to view the Ocean.

Very small, affordable Pismo Beach property. Not luxurious, but a great place centrally located to spend a few nights.

This is such a cute little motel! Highly recommend. It was very clean and close to so many great things. The beach is a fairly short walk away. Right next-door on one side is a really good restaurant, and on the other side is a great coffee shop. There is also a cute little boutique next to the restaurant with lots of locally made items for sale. Shell Beach is such a lovely place to stay, we would love to come back again.

There are pros and cons to this place. Pros, bed was comfortable and location is walking distance to beach. Cons, not the cleanest, bathroom and room are super small. Can’t even walk around without bumping into things. Zero counter space in bathroom, no full length mirror and shower is barely large enough for a child. Nice people but won’t be staying here again.

Stay here monthly! Love this place. Floors are not ever clean. Must pack slippers or socks to wear around in room.

Check in was super fast. Basically just handed me the key. It’s a motel. Looks nice from the outside, just like a seaside inn should. The bed was very comfortable. The room looks like it was remodeled recently. Whoever did the sloppy remodel work in the bathroom used red permanent markers to mark tile cuts and most of the marks are still visible. You can see them where they either mis-cut the tile, didn’t measure correctly or where the grout has fallen out or the caulking has come off. There’s also paint drippings on the tile and floor, they didn’t wipe the caulking off the walls or tile so it’s all over the place. Whoever did the work did not know anything. Just sloppy. So if your husband is a contractor and you want to put them on tilt, then stay here. Also, the floors had not been cleaned. Maybe ever. They were filthy. We noticed some shiny drops of something on the floor by the bed that we’ll just agree could have been where someone spilled some Sprite. So I got a wet towel to wipe it up and the towel turned black with dirt. I have photos. So I got another wet towel and basically walk-mopped the entire floor. It was disgusting. Dried it with another towel and then took the towels to the front desk. They said that was “unusual” and I agreed it was for me as well. They said they would mop while we were out. I left something on the floor to see if they would. When we returned to our room it was still there. Overall I would never stay here again, unless I wanted a divorce.

Small but clean room with comfortable bed. Great value.

The room wasn't very clean when we got there. I complained and they cleaned it right away. The door to the room was very hard to open you had to put your whole body in it.

My room was very small, but clean and nice. All I needed for a quick overnight in beautiful Pismo Beach area.

Tv didnt work properly. Missed the superbowl.

Only think was the heat didn’t work all that well. Other than that everything else was great. Comfortable bed huge bathroom and everyone was kind and fast at response.

Nice place to stay and good location. A couple of restaurants within walking distance. Bed was great. You can easily hear your neighbors due to the connecting door.

I only stayed for one night but it was in a good location and quaint. The separate room was a nice touch for my children.

Tiny Rooms

For me and my family we enjoyed our stay at The Palomar Inn the staff was polite and the area is a beautiful place and very clean thank you.

Well the pictures were completely deceiving. The Palomar Inn had a 7.4 good rating, the cost was right in the middle of Pismo Beach hotels. I thought it was odd when I checked in and there wasn't a deposit or any other amenities. When I opened the door I was in complete shock. The furniture looked like it came from a garage sell. The TV was mounted on top of white mini refrigerator, sheets had stains, the towels were gray and I when washed my hands and the sink wouldn't drain! I called Expedia the first person said sorry I can't do anything but I'll give you $50 credit. The hotel owner called me on my cellphone and started yelling at me calling me a liar. I went to the front desk the little old lady who looked scared of her shadow put the male owner on phone who also yelled at me even though I was showing him pictures of the room. After another 90 minutes sending pictures Expedia agreed to give me $200 of my $313 back. By now it was after 9 and dark. We proceeded to drive for a hour driving down 101 frantically calling hotels. At 10pm I found a room in King City. What did I learn: 1. Never book with Expedia 2. The Palomar Inn is worse than a slum and 3. Always get trip insurance!

Just a quick leisure trip overnight. This hotel was just so nice. The owners were a sweet couple, friendly and helpful. It is a simple place but you could tell care was taken to keep it clean and in good order. I would stay here again.

Very friendly/helpful staff. One lamp didn’t work and they promptly replaced it. Lots of clean towels and toiletries in room. Beds comfortable and rooms good size. TV was high tech. You can tell the place is in process of getting upgraded cosmetically and it looked nice. It was so peaceful, several great restaurants/quick bite places right there, and easy stroll to the ocean. Meis Chinese food is the best I’ve had in awhile. Go there! And take some time to sit on the patio across from the office. The fire pit and furniture made for a cozy respite. We will definitely return.

When I got to check the lady had to call someone to help me. The she than passed me the phone, man on the other end asked what I needed I explained to check in. He pass the phone back I did. She than had me write my name out. She had me keys an told me my room number. Next morning trying call from room phone an person to change payment method and no one would answer phone or lobby door. We have stayed here before but this time was so unprofessional. The last 2 times we had very nice upgraded this time room was missing all upgrades that prior rooms had. We love this location but after this stay it was probably our last.

Great value for the price. Rooms are very basic and customer service is non-existent. But I paid half the price of most hotels in the area.

This is my second stay at this particular hotel, and I can honestly say that it is very nice. I love it. The people are very friendly. The rooms are excellent and it’s definitely somewhere I will come back to.

The property owners were very nice and kind to our family. There was a lot of us that stayed there due to us having a wedding to attend. Locked myself out of my room a couple of times and they gave me a new key card without any problems. very nice clean place to stay. I would definitely stay there again.

The staff is not available at night besides by phone. Nothing changed after a noise complaint was made. The walls are really thin.

Came just as a solo getaway to the beach . Room was perfect for sleep and showering. Perk was there is a coffee shop next door and a pub across the street.

Great location

The location of this hotel was perfect! Close to the freeway, walking distance to restaurants, the beach and very close to Pismo Beach and SLO. There was a great coffee shop right next-door. The hotel itself was adequate. It was nice having an extra bedroom since there was four of us. It could definitely use some updates, but overall, we were very satisfied. I would definitely recommend more hooks and/or towel bars. Also, it would be nice to have a nightstand on both sides of the bed. I would stay here again.

Amazing location!

Quite & safe. Restaurant within walking distance. Walk down the street( no sidewalk)to a very nice sidewalk along the cliffs above ocean, a small park area as well.

This hotel was inexpensive, but it was clean, with easy access to the freeway. It was also quiet. Which was nice. It was only a 15 minute drive to the San Luis Obispo airport, which is why I stayed there. All the hotels in San Luis Obispo were way over priced. This one was perfectly comfortable. I would definitely recommend it and stay here again,

We loved how conveniently located the Palomar Inn is to restaurants, the ocean and local stores! It was very quiet, which I loved! No one bothered us! The room was big and the bed was comfy! We will stay here again!
