A super overnight stay at Oakeley Arms. The staff were friendly and engaging. The food was plentiful and nourishing for a chap who'd walked 15 miles over the mountains get there. The room was closer to the main road, quiet in the evening but did get a little noisier from 6. Breakfast was excellent too. Great to hear so much Welsh in the bar. Diolch yn Fawr iawn!

No disabled access. Unable to use the tiny, enclosed, shower because there were no grab rails, either in the stall or in the bathroom itself. No lift. No ground floor rooms. Also, the electrics in my room failed - twice.

Pros: Room kept clean, quick easy check in and out, spacious room and bathroom for 2 people. Nice tea and coffee making facilities. Nice, friendly staff. Cons: Room looked very dated compared to what we saw on the Expedia advert. Also a tad on the eerie creepy side. (Room 9 we stayed in) food was lovely but slightly overpriced. Parking at the front difficult when parking at the back is full.

What a lovely charming hotel to stay in! So welcoming and lots of interesting things to see, the outdoor space was fantastic for our kids, play park and huge trampoline, the food was great and our room was lovely. Would definitely stay here again thank you so much.

Friendly staff and good food. We stayed on a saturday night and the pub / hotel was very busy and we struggled to find a table to eat. Not much nearby so we suggest you take anything you particularly need for your stay. Overall a nice place

We had a fantastic stay! The staff was excellent, friendly and attentive. David, the outstanding young man we worked with the most, made our stay memorable with his positive attitude, good humor and welcoming demeanor. The meals served at the on-site pub had great food and a friendly caring staff. The rooms were quiet, spacious and comfortable. We could not have made a better choice than the Oakley Arms for our stay during our extended trip!

Good base for visiting places like Portmerion and our family room was very spacious with large single beds as well as large double . Definitely could do with brighter lights in room as when getting ready we couldn’t use natural daylight as needed to pull blind due to road outside and when dark the lights were too dim. We ate there on the first night and food was lovely highly recommend. Parking bit restrictive when the pub was busy.

A parte le colazioni calde che erano ottime, le camere sono decisamente sporche, sembrava che le cameriere sistemassero solo il letto (bottiglie vuote non tolte, una farfalla é rimasta a terra morta per 3 notti, capelli non nostri in bagno….). Positivo, le colazioni calde davvero buone. Non ci tornerei più e non lo consiglio!!!!

Room wasn’t very clean - dead flies in the bathroom, large spider on the ceiling, dusty dirty windows. Beds were uncomfortable, duvet was too thick and warm for summer. Not many dining options around

I dont stay in hotels often but enjoyed my short stay. Food was excellent. Room was great for 1 person. Everything had been thought of and supplied in the room from drinks, tea, coffee, water etc to all manner of bathroom supplies Very impressed. I never sleep well away from home but rested pretty well. No noise at all from the large pub area below, very peaceful. Would definitely stay again

Great location, could do with a dedicated check-in desk not at the bar especially at busy service times.room very very clean but dated could do with updating throughout. Breakfast was ok but slow service, one poor lad serving on his own. Evening meals were very good.we had a room on the top floor and there was a bad smell on the landing. Overall not bad for the price.

Room spacious and comfortable with extras like tea/coffee/water well stocked. Bath was nice to have but also a powerful shower. Food is good although service stops a little early - especially on Sunday. Breakfast very good - all cooked to order.

This would have been a great stay other than for the fact the music on all night. My room was above the bar and all I could hear all night was the music. I tried to call/text the emergency numbers but had no service. So that’s why they have been marked down, fabulous comfy rooms, lovely and clean. Just no sleep.

We stayed in the room at the front of the hotel which is south facing so gets the sun most of the day, the problem is the 2 bedroom windows don’t open as the sack windows have been painted together, the bathroom window opened but it’s not enough to cool the room down. Had a couple of issues with the bathroom but they were sorted quickly but the shower was a bit of a hit and miss going hot and cold. Food was good with good size portions but they did forget to put the cheese on the house burger and the coleslaw off another meal we had. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good except they didn’t have any cornflakes, had ever other cereal, I did ask but said they didn’t have any.

I arrived early but was able to access my room straight away. I was initially told that my room still had to be paid for but I had prepaid. This was resolved quickly however. The hotel is conveniently located on a regular bus route and I took the opportunity to visit Blaenau Ffestiniog 20 minutes away. The evening meal was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu. My room was fine and extremely comfortable. Some slight traffic noise as it was at the front of the property.

Room was huge and well equipped. Now we did visit on the hottest day of the year, but the room was unbearably hot. We borrowed a fan, but this did little to cool the room. I can I ly assume the room temp would be much better if it wasn't 34 degrees during the day. Staff were niceand food was good. Checking at the small bar.

For £70 it was really good value for money. Staff were lovely. The room was big. It’s a little out of date. The water system broke in the morning, but was up and running quickly. I am going to stay again

Beautiful hotel, the room was all to an exceptional standard. Sadly the service and food let it down. We were a group of 10. Most of the evening meals were good but the steak, which 2 of the party ordered was so tough it was a challenge to eat. When this was pointed out the waitress was not impressed. After that we were being rushed to finish. In the morning we arrived at 8.30 for breakfast, the waitress in the morning was far more friendly, however, we waited over an hour for the food. The food was clearly locally sourced, sadly the bacon was over cooked and again a challenge to eat. The continental breakfast was not restocked and the orange juice and bread ran out.We heard other guests complaining as well about the breakfast arrangement. One had paid but mislaid the token and another just got fed up of waiting and left. So dissapointing that this Beautiful place let's itself down.

The hotel was not bad but the receotion staff were ot very helpful when i arrived soaking wet and in urgent need of a hot shower. The vegan food was not bad but not much of a choice.

I've stayed at the hotel previously, it's ideally situated and the staff are very accommodating. The room is comfortable and I would stay again. The only negative point was breakfast, this was the first time I'd had breakfast here and the service was very slow. I arrived at the restaurant at 8:35am, at 9:27am I was still waiting for my food. This was not ideal, given I was meant to leave at 9:30am. If breakfast starts at 8:30am, then all food should be ready to serve from that time.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for two nights and it was a gorgeous room. Really cosy and a big bed with comfy bedding. The restaurant downstairs was homely and all the staff were really friendly and welcoming. The view from the room was stunning and the road outside is quiet. Would love to stay here again!

The hotel is conveniently located to explore the Welsh highlands, and the Welsh Highlands and Ffestiniog Railways. A good breakfast is served in the morning and there's a good food menu in the evening.

I arrived early but was able to access my room straight away. I was initially told that my room still had to be paid for but I had prepaid. This was resolved quickly however. The hotel is conveniently located on a regular bus route and I took the opportunity to visit Blaenau Ffestiniog 20 minutes away. The evening meal was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu. My room was fine and extremely comfortable. Some slight traffic noise as it was at the front of the property.

Great location, could do with a dedicated check-in desk not at the bar especially at busy service times.room very very clean but dated could do with updating throughout. Breakfast was ok but slow service, one poor lad serving on his own. Evening meals were very good.we had a room on the top floor and there was a bad smell on the landing. Overall not bad for the price.

Room spacious and comfortable with extras like tea/coffee/water well stocked. Bath was nice to have but also a powerful shower. Food is good although service stops a little early - especially on Sunday. Breakfast very good - all cooked to order.

Myself and husband stayed here whilst away celebrating our wedding anniversary. We visited Portmerion nearby and this hotel was situated not far from there. Staff were very friendly throughout our stay. On our arrival they showed us to our room. The room was huge,as was the en-suite. The room was very clean had all we needed for our stay. We chose to dine at the hotel and we were not disappointed! We both had steak for main and agreed it was possibly the best steak we had ever eaten and was it cooked to perfection. Breakfast in the morning did not disappoint either. Located in Snowdonia the surrounding scenery was just stunning. I would happily return to the hotel and would recommend as a place to stay for friends and family visiting the area. Thank you for a truly lovely stay.

Beautiful hotel, the room was all to an exceptional standard. Sadly the service and food let it down. We were a group of 10. Most of the evening meals were good but the steak, which 2 of the party ordered was so tough it was a challenge to eat. When this was pointed out the waitress was not impressed. After that we were being rushed to finish. In the morning we arrived at 8.30 for breakfast, the waitress in the morning was far more friendly, however, we waited over an hour for the food. The food was clearly locally sourced, sadly the bacon was over cooked and again a challenge to eat. The continental breakfast was not restocked and the orange juice and bread ran out.We heard other guests complaining as well about the breakfast arrangement. One had paid but mislaid the token and another just got fed up of waiting and left. So dissapointing that this Beautiful place let's itself down.

My stay at The Oakeley Arms Hotel in Blaenau Ffestiniog was truly the highlight of my time in Wales. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel so welcome—friendly, attentive, and even greeting me by name (perhaps I stood out as a solo female traveler!). Their warmth and hospitality set the tone for the entire visit. The hotel restaurant was an unexpected delight. Coming from the U.S., I was blown away by the quality, flavor, and generous portions of every meal. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious—so much so that I felt guilty not finishing it all! Be sure to leave room for dessert; each one is divine and worth the indulgence. My room had a comfortable single bed that was perfect for me. The space was surprisingly large and the bathroom was lovely—clean, well-kept, and thoughtfully appointed. Thank you, Oakeley Arms, for such a wonderful experience. You made this solo traveler feel right at home. I can genuinely say this was my best stay in Wales!

The hotel was not bad but the receotion staff were ot very helpful when i arrived soaking wet and in urgent need of a hot shower. The vegan food was not bad but not much of a choice.

I've stayed at the hotel previously, it's ideally situated and the staff are very accommodating. The room is comfortable and I would stay again. The only negative point was breakfast, this was the first time I'd had breakfast here and the service was very slow. I arrived at the restaurant at 8:35am, at 9:27am I was still waiting for my food. This was not ideal, given I was meant to leave at 9:30am. If breakfast starts at 8:30am, then all food should be ready to serve from that time.
