This is a nice place to stay with dining available on the lower floor. However, it is not an accessible property and there are many stairs. There was construction going on next door so parking was limited. It is a bit outdated but clean. Checking in takes place in the restaurant which is a little odd and was very busy when I arrived. Overall, it was convenient for my work visit.

Amazing view from room onto the harbour, but room needs some sprucing up forvthe price. Bed was comfortable enough, but room looked neglected...even knowing the buildings are all old in this area. Parking was difficult, unless you were lucky to find a free parking space as In had no dedicated parking.

Had to drive around look for parking. Had to pay at the meter one you found a spot to park. Location was good since right across the wharf to see the ships. Good restaurant downstairs and staff were great. Could use a few blinds/curtain for the door to balcony. Good location.

It was quaint, there is no 'check-in' staff, you had to go to restaurant below. Carpets, especially in the hallways should be replaced. Wasn't aware there was only street parking and at 10 am you had to move or get money in meter. Other than that is was a good stay and clean

This was an interesting accommodation experience given there is no on-site parking and there was not a traditional check-in office/desk/attendant. It is very convenient to the waterfront and literally "in the middle" of all the shops, bars, and restaurants in Lunenburg. Indeed, upon arrival we had to check into our room at the bar in the restaurant below the guest rooms. The room was nice enough and included a covered balcony with two Adirondack chairs so we could watch the harbour into the evening after exploring the town. The shower was tiny, so small that if you dropped your soap you would likely have to step out of the shower to pick up the soap! Also, although the room was insulated from any noise from the bar/restaurant below the hallway outside our room (level with Montague St.) seem to have people traffic at different points in the night; also, there was a room with refrigeration/ice making equipment on the same level with a door that was always open and thus the hallway was very hot at all times (though our room was just fine with the AC and a ceiling fan). Overall the rating could be a 4 or 4.5 if it wasn't for the noisy hallway, it was a good room for the night so the overall rating is actually 3.5.

Facility is right on the Bay - excellent view - Bluenose is docked next door as is the Fisherman’s Museum. Parking is a problem - need to arrive early ( well before 10.00 AM ) to secure a metered spot. Free parking in the downtown is practically non existence. Lots of good restaurants in town

We stayed 4 nights. The queen bed was very comfortable and the view of the waterfront and the Bluenose 11 was entertaining. We could walk everywhere and the Fisheries museum had just opened so we thoroughly enjoyed visiting it. Our room was a little tired and needed some small repairs. Some housekeeping items had been overlooked and items from the previous guest had been left behind. Overall the location is great and choice of dining is endless. Come prepared with change for the parking metres.

Great location on the water, but the first thing I saw was very dirty (it was caked on) carpet. Then the extra blanket had a stain on it. Bed was super uncomfortable. Doesn’t seem like there is much care that goes into this property.

No parking except on the street and hopefully you’re lucky enough to find a spot. Entranceway and stairs really dirty. You have to go to the bar to get the key. Room was tiny. Crumbs on the table, hairs on the sheets (look liked they weren’t changed), hair in bathroom. Carpet dirty and didn’t appear to be vacuumed. Old and run down. Asked for my money back and manager refunded my money. I do not recommend at all.

The location of the property is excellent to water front that's all. Concerns needed to be addressed: floors vacuumed only around bed area, dirty below it. Food left in fridge from previous guests. Cups, glasses & ice bucket had dirt rings inside them and on some inner bottoms, the table lamp is broken and a fire hazard, main sheets were very yellow compared to upper linens, bathroom tiles broken and grout very dirty (cannot be cleaned enough in this condition), just one hand towel & one face cloth for two of us, called front desk at 8:30 to check out but no one answered. This is an Expedia partnered hotel. Paid close to $200/night but in reality, at best, is a $60/night value.

This room was not worth $275 plus taxes. It was old and dated and had a carpet that looked like it had not been cleaned in 30 years - including wrinkles everywhere i would not walk on my bare feet on it. The check in is awkward at the bar downstairs and no information is provided about the room or what to do if there is a problem. The only thing nice was the soaker tub. The bathroom was clean. The furniture was totally dated. I felt taken advantage of because it was Lunenberg. I would recommend staying outside of Lunenberg and just going in for a few hours it's a tourist trap. We were traveling throughout the maritimes and paid more for this room than any other place and it was not worth it. The restaurant downstairs derved good food and was reasonable with really good staff.

The room was small but adequate and it was nice to have a refrigerator. Climate controls were effective and the bed was comfortable. The property is an Oder wood frame building, and the room was located next to stairs — one group of guests tended to run up & down — VERY noisy!

It was conveniently located. The room was on back side of inn and very hot. There was no AC. It had a window and a skylight window that were operable and a ceiling fan. We had to close the skylight at night since there was no screen and we were concerned bugs may fly in.

The perfect location in an older property. Can walk to everything very easily. The staff were super friendly, if a little busy. The huge soaker tub in the Romance suite #4 is huge and magical! Great view if you are in the bed or the tub (there is also a full bathroom with standard tub).

Checking in at the Bar was different. Carpets and area outside of room were very dingy. Pleasantly surprised room was very nice and clean. Great view of ocean and bluenose in the harbour. Bed wasn’t comfortable. Felt slopped towards your head.

I stayed here for one night and although the room and the bed were small, they were adequate for my needs. I arrived 2 hours early, but their 3pm check in policy is very strict, so I had to walk around Lunenburg for 2 hours. The hotel is in a great location, but street parking can be a challenge, depending on time of day, but in an old town like Lunenburg, that is to be expected. I stayed in room #6 Sceptre and access to my room was a little awkward for luggage, but not uncommon in an old building like this. Bathroom is nice, shower good. If I visit Lunenburg again, I would probably stay here again.

The best thing about this room is the balcony overlooking the harbour. We enjoyed our time there. The room needs renovations though. The beds are so soft that we couldn't sleep well. And the shower is a tiny metal shower stall. The room would be so much better if it had a bigger shower and a better mattress. Not sure that we would return unless it was upgraded.

Even though Hotels.com showed the room we booked as sleeping 4, it actually only slept 3 - one queen and one twin. However the staff at the Brigantine bent over backwards to find us a cot - which they did. Also when finding out that we were traveling with my elderly parent and there was no elevator, they offered to help us carry our luggage up the stairs.

They told me they had maintenance issues with the room I booked with Expedia. They also told me they had contact Smuggler Inn and they had a room for us. My boyfriend and I stayed for 1 night in room 6. When we arrived, we followed the sign that said “hotel guest check in at grand banker”. When we went into the restaurant there was no one there. We called the number for the hotel and explained that we wanted to check in and she said “Isn’t there a number you should be calling?” It was super confusing because this was this number for the hotel? After a few minutes she told us to go down the street to a bar to check in so we did that and the girl at the bar was super nice and helpful. Our room was small but the perfect size for the two of us. We were super disappointed that the restaurant was closed on a Saturday night, but we went else where. The only complaint about our room was the bed was EXTREMELY uncomfortable and i could barely sleep because of it and my body is aching from it. There was no instructions on how to check out and the restaurant and bar were both closed so we gave our keys to the cleaning staff that were also extremely nice. Overall I won’t be staying there again because I’d rather sleep on the floor then that bed.

Was unsure where to leave keys this morning when leaving as you check into the pub and it was closed. Did not see a key drop box so just left them in my room.A different experience but food was amazing, staff was wonderful amd location was fantastic.

The staff I met were kind, warm, and helpful. The location with its waterfront view is lovely. Never having been in the building, when I booked my ground floor room I had no idea that I would need to go downstairs to the restaurant (the building is on a hill as is most of Lunenburg) to check in. My mobility isn't great, and the stairs are steep and carpeted. There's an outdoor route with a ramp, but it's a longer walk and it was steamy hot. In terms of the room, the wall-to-wall carpeting doesn't lie flat in several places, which is a tripping hazard for me. The excellent staff made a big difference in all this, but I'm not sure I would stay here again.

Right in the downtown area, tons of shops, restaurants, and waterfront within walking distance. Check-in at the restaurant was super easy. Also, the food and staff at the restaurant were amazing! I forgot an item in my room, and Jess was awesome, securing the item and ensuring it's safe return. Great stay!

Facility is right on the Bay - excellent view - Bluenose is docked next door as is the Fisherman’s Museum. Parking is a problem - need to arrive early ( well before 10.00 AM ) to secure a metered spot. Free parking in the downtown is practically non existence. Lots of good restaurants in town

We loved the Bluenose room - quaint and excellent waterfront location and view. The restaurant-Banker’s Bar and Grill-offered the best scallops I have ever tasted. Must try the dill pickle martini.

Room was cute and clean but tired. The headboard fell off the bed and the lamp shade was so old, brittle and yellow it cracked and fell off the stand with a slight knock. (waiting to see if they try and charge me for these aged items/issues). Other than these issues, the stay was pleasant. The restaurant/bar downstairs is super convenient and has great food.

The rooms were smaller than average but so cozy. Being able to just walk downstairs for delicious meals was so convenient. The staff were all great, especially Alyssa who cleaned the rooms each day. She made three night owls smile every morning.

The room we had could use some updating. But we loved the staff and the convienence of the pub and restaurant below. Right on the harbour. Highly recommend this location.

We loved the romance room. Husband has a bad back. The hot tub helped a great deal. The food at the adjoining restaurant, The Grand Banker was amazing with huge portions. We got to hear the most amazing blues artist Joe Murphy. Wow just a great stay.

The Brigatine Hotel is a vintage building close to the bay in Lunenberg, Nova Scotia. It has a small restaurant and many rooms. Unfortunately, we had a room in what was called “The Annex”. Our room was not in the Brigatine Hotel at all! It was across the street in a smaller, house. We are in our mid 70s. We had to lug our heavy luggage up a stairway entrance, with very loose and rotting railings. Once in the house, we had to drag the luggage up a winding, narrow stairway to the second floor. The upper floor had two nice bedrooms with TVs and a sitting room with a partial kitchen and a bathroom down the hall from the bedrooms. The upper floor could not be closed off, since it all was open to the entry door on the main floor, which had two locked doors to a first floor unit. We hated not being able to lock our unit upstairs. The tub didn’t drain right and the it filled as we showered. There was bottles of conditioner, but no shampoo. The room keys were in a sleeve and the internet info on the keys did not work. In the morning, we found a card in the sitting room, letting us know that the internet for the Annex was not the same as the hotel. We had no time to use internet for our next day plans. The person who checked us in was waiting tables and quickly checked us in and pointed to the house across the street and had us figure it out ourselves. We paid almost $300 for this unit. We could have done much better with all the cute hotels in town.
