Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Matthews Charlotte

Pool needs a major renovation. Water was murky with particles floating inside of it. The floor has missing pieces which could scrape feet easily. Not impressed

Facility, staff, breakfast at this facility very good. Our only complaint is there were NO luggage carriers available when we checked in and checked out, had to make more than one trip up to room.

Very nice accommodations. Close to major routes to get downtown and to various attractions. Excellent breakfast with changes made to menu daily. Staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. Only drawback was that pool was being remarcited and was not open during one of the hottest times of the year! Wonder why it wasn't done during winter months????

The staff were all very friendly, which started the entire stay with a great feeling! The rooms were very clean and spacious. I loved that we could enjoy the pool without freezing ! The location was great !

Internet was unstable, the hotel lost power for several hours, I had barely any working tv stations, and I left early and they wouldn’t reimburse me.

We enjoyed our 2 night stay. The second night the fire alarm went off and we all had to evacuate but the staff was quick to respond, fire department was quick to respond. It seems a water pipe had burst on the 3rd floor which was the reason for the alarm but we were on the 4th floor and weren’t affected by anything we were glad everyone was ok and it wasn’t an actual fire. However the next morning when checking out, the general assistant manager informed us we would be getting a full refund for our stay. Which wasn’t necessary or expected but she insisted. That was a pleasant surprise 😊 Thank you Fairfield Inn and suites 🙏

Decent stay overall, the pool was very over chlorinated so even walking into the pool room eyes were burning. Once people got into the pool they lasted only 5 minutes due to the chlorine irritating their eyes too much. The pull out sofa had very dark stains all over the mattress, but we just covered it with like 4 blankets. The breakfast was great, they even had gluten free options, the beds were decent, the service was great, and location was in great proximity to our event.

Our room was clean on arrival. They did have a heated pool and gym which my family used during our stay. The pool was in the small side but my kids enjoyed it. My only area for improvement would have been with the bed and pillows. The bed was very hard which I know some people enjoy but I did not and the feather/down pillows were flat. If I visit again I’ll bring a comforter and pillows of my own.

When we checked in , no tissues or hand soap, or body wash. Then the next day we had BEDBUG bites. We called the manager and still have not heard back. My wife is allergic so now she is miserable and on steroid cream and oral prednisone after a virtual doctor visit on our vacation!

Clean room. Staff was really nice. The room was musty. Bed comfortable. Breakfast ok. Good location.

Very clean and updated. The halls were a little warm but other than that the decor, cleanliness of the room, and comfort of the pillows and bed were great

The room smells too damp. In the closet on the ceiling there were black stains like mold.

Rooms was nasty! Entered my room and had dirty sheets on bed with hair all over room & bathroom.. would nod recommend

The toilet seat had dried urine on it. There was a long black hair on the sink counter near the soap tray and water faucet. Splatter spot on lamp base on night stand next to bed. And noise like someone jumping off of bed in room above and running across the room. We have never experienced any of this before in other stays.

We found a clear bug in one of the beds after spraying both beds down with Lysol. Overall, the stay was ok.

It stinks and there is mildew. The mildew snell is strong in the hallways, elevator and the rooms.

Right off route 74 but not so close that you hear the road traffic. Breakfast options were good. Staff was very friendly. The only negative was the air conditioning system which gave of a musty smell and felt damp.

Tv was dark at the top of the screen and the remote had no settings adjustment. So news of the day was disappointing and difficult to view.

Everything was fine on checkin and we we’re great on the way into our room. Sat on the bed and thought it was a bit hard but wee left for dinner came. Ack went to bed. The bed had a horrible squeak. Every time you would move. My poor husband was up and down all night and now has the worst back ache!! He hasn’t had back pain in years. I mentioned it upon checking out the young lady apologized and said have a nice day. We were so disappointed that we were not offered any kind of compensation for his pain. We truly hope that they replaced the mattress for the next guest!!

Could not turn heat beyond 73 degrees on a cold January day; Shower curtain too short caused water to pool on bathroom floor; sink had slow drain.

Check in was very fast and front desk people were very helpful and friendly every time. The room was nice, spacious and clean. Breakfast was good too and lots of variety on the menu. We enjoyed our stay and the fire pit outside in the hotel patio was neat!

Paper thin walls . It sounded like the people above us were bowling in their room, at 2am. Could hear the room next door talking and they were not shouting. Beds completely unacceptable. The mattress had a huge worn out divot in the center and I could feel the springs. Woke up with a sore back and hips. No conditioner in the shower. I know this isn’t the Ritz , but a comfortable bed and a shower is not too much to ask for. Do better

Had to be moved three times. First room-air didn’t work, 2nd room-tv didn’t work, and third room had everything working.

We had a two bedroom suite. It was very spacious and the beds were comfortable. The suite was clean. It was a great stay.

The property was convenient to Charlotte and the nearby communities I was visiting. The staff was professional and accommodating. The hotel was clean, I have no issues with the care of the room or facilities. The pool was nice, but there weren’t towels for use at the pool. My only complaint was noise. The room above us had guests running around, stomping, laughing, and yelling throughout the night. I notified the front desk, it quieted briefly, but the stomping, running and occasional loud laughing and conversation and yelling carried through until about 1:30 AM. It quieted enough that each time I nearly called the front desk I stopped because they stopped long enough for me to think they were done for the night. Initially when I called, the staff had offered to move us, but my kid was already asleep. So, I was hopeful that the other guests would be more considerate once they were notified that they were being disruptive. I was too optimistic. Breakfast was a pretty standard affair, no complaints there. The dining room was nice, the kitchen area was clean and well maintained. I requested a late checkout, and the staff accommodated it, thankfully since we had a rough night with the noise. Unfortunately, the conference room booked for Sunday morning with loud music blasting… so much for resting before our return trip home. Noise aside, the accommodations were very nice. The staff did try to recover our experience. I probably wouldn’t rebook here though.

Had the best experience ever with a hotel front staff in all my years of traveling. Assistant General Manager pleasant demeanor, professionalism, and top notch customer service would be nice to have all hotels. Thanks to the front desk staff…much appreciate it!!

Booked a room months before my intended stay with Hotels.com, prepaid for the room only to be informed that they had overbooked the hotel and there was no room available for me. Had to book my own room at another nearby hotel.

The front desk staff were absolutely amazing and delightful. I let them know in advance that I’d be bothering them and yet they were unbothered. Very special shoutout to Nicole and Tyla. Very Sweet ladies…

I was happy with the stay,with 2 exceptions. I thought for a Marriott hotel the breakfast was lacking items to choose from besides no butter,no cream cheese and the broken juice machine. It was a nice breakfast area though. We showed up at the hotel and asked if an early check in was possible. She said our room was ready, but that she would have to charge us a "early check in fee" of $ 30. NEVER in my years of travel have ever heard of such a charge. Basically saying we can offer better customer service, but we are going to have to charge you for it. Very disappointing.

I did not appreciate been charged $200 dollars for ensedenals when I arrived, it wasn't made known to me during the online booking, what if I didn't have the $200 dollars, I would have been in a mess, because now my money is tied up with the booking company, I got penalized for being a Charlotte resident, up front pricing must be a priority, unless that changes, I want be back

Charged me for room I booked and got there to check in and they were sold out. Never received money back.

Upon checking in, I was asked to provide identification. I used my NC driver's license and was then informed that because I have a Charlotte, NC address, I am subjected to a $200 hold on my credit card for incidentals. Even the General Manager, James tells me to my face that they don't want to rent rooms to "Locals"! I took much offense to that quote and asked for the corporate number and Hames says that they dont give out that information! I located the company running this property and informed them of this travesty and I haven't heard back from them sine I left their Regional Mana GG er a voicemail! This is blatant discrimination and targeting people because of their address on their indenfication and then upcharging the incidentals charge to discourage patronage of this property!

The Fairfield Marriott exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the customer service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly courteous, making the check-in process seamless. My room was superb; the bed felt like sleeping on clouds, and the TV seemed brand new, enhancing my overall experience. I've consistently chosen this hotel for my business trips, and it never disappoints. Its reliable quality and comfort make it my preferred choice for short stays. I highly recommend this location to anyone visiting Charlotte for the first time. Everything, from the attentive staff to the impeccable cleanliness, was outstanding. Truly an exceptional experience.

I prepaid for my room then when I got there I was told I had to pay an additional $100 for incidentals that would be returned 3-5 days after check. I really feel that this was stated when I booked the room

I was very happy with my stay at Fairfield Inn. The front desk staff was fantastic. I interacted with several front desk staff and they were all very responsive, kind and friendly. I'd like to give a special shoutout to Mikey since I interacted with him the most. The room only had one issue. The door had to be shut very hard to make sure the lock engaged. I would definitely recommend the Fairfield Inn to others.

Needs security, my car window was broken into on my 2nd night.

Highly recommend staying at this location. Nice room. Quiet facility. Lots of restaurants convenient to location. Really enjoyed the on-site breakfast.

The location is perfect for attending events at Bojangles colesium -- great staff, good breakfast too.

The hotel staff was attentive and helpful. This was a great, safe place to stay for two women traveling. It was convenient to Charlotte and to Matthews.

unfortunately there was no coffee--machine broken. Need to have a back-up. Everything else was great.

Average hotel . Did not have huge expectations . Good enough to rest your head . However the breakfast service and area was nasty . First day most the stuff wasn’t out or prepared , coffee creamer oily and warm . Trash all over, sloppy mess on the counters and overflowing trash . They need more than one worker in that area . DO BETTER

They have to improve the breakfast, short of coffee, toaster not working properly....

Breakfast was amazing so many options, slept so good, requested a quiet area and they made sure I got that, front desk staff and management were amazing as well as housekeeping and breakfast staff. Very clean!!

The facility was clean& smelled fresh from the moment I walked in! The staff greeted me immediately and was friendly & professional! The room was clean and very spacious only had to request shampoo & toilet paper. Breakfast was really good, was above & beyond a regular continental breakfast, even though there were a lot of folks, there was plenty of options!! I will be seeking out Fairfield hotels again! Best hotel we stayed at on our 10day road trip. Thank you
