The Primose Inn is a treasure in Bar Harbor. You feel like you’re at home during your stay. Parking is easy, great tea collection, the breakfast menu is rotating every day. Brandon and the staff members take care of everything.

Beautifull inn, walking distance to "downtown" Bar Harbor. Staff was very helpful and friendly, the room large and in good taste. Though quaint, the 2 faucet setup in the bathroom sink is inconvenient. Other than that - excellent choice!

The King bed was comfortable in our room. We enjoyed the living area of the Inn in front of the fireplace. I think softer lighting in the bedroom would make the room more cozy. Also the sitting area in the room could use more comfortable chairs. Overall excellent facility.

Our stay at The Primrose was absolutely amazing! We were greeted after a long drive to complementary wine and a tour of the beautiful Primrose before settling in for the night. Our room was very clean and comfortable, it really did feel like home. Breakfast each morning was delicious and our room had a private spot on the porch to drink our coffee that overlooked the pollinator garden there, we saw so many hummingbirds! Another perk was tea time snacks starting at 2pm, we absolutely loved the desserts and coffee! Truly a gem right near the heart of town!

We enjoyed a lovely night and fabulous breakfast here in April while we briefly toured the park. Very helpful staff, comfy room, lovely common areas, good location (about 10-15 minutes to walk to main shops and restaurants).

I am glad i chose the Primrose Inn, all of my expectations were met. Warm welcome by staff, nice and cozy room, good breakfast, tasty… the property is quaint, but it had all the amenities of a modern house. Afternoon tea with baked goodies are a nice addition… walking distance to the village center, close to the entrance of acadia national park…

We unexpectedly wanted to extend our stay and our hotel could not accomodate us. Thus, we lucked out and got a night at The Primrose. Wow! What a great place. I only wish we had booked here for our whole trip. Everyone was so nice. The room was great, what a comfortable bed. It is so clean. We even had a porch with a porch swing right out our bedroom door. The afternoon snacks were delicious, but that breakfast! They were serving Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with a Rasberry Composte or a Mushroom Pancetta Frittata. My wife had the frittata and I had the pancakes. Both were great. They were served with fruit and outstanding potatoes. They also served an almond poppyseed bread that was so moist. Topped everything off with some Blueberry coffee (regular was available as well). This is a little gem hidden in Bar Harbor. We hope to come back, but, next time spend our entire stay here.

What a little gem to stay at ! I booked Primrose quite by chance for a three day off season stay. The staff were like family. Kind, warm accommodating. The chefs were amazing. The rooms, spotless, and the stay was like a coming home. We arrived super late around 11 pm. Anna called us around 7 to make sure we know all the restaurants in town will be closed by the time we get there and we may need to eat before getting to Bar Harbor. We had a swift check in and were offered a glass of wine and slipped into comfortable bed with good mattress ( thanks heavens for that mattress!). From that point everything was nice and swift. And what a great time to visit Bar Harbor if you are mainly going for the nature, hikes, and meditation , and not the crowd, I highly recommend first weeks of November!

The Primrose Inn was a pleasant stay. All that was served and offered there was great. Staff were friendly and courteous. Rooms were comfortable and clean. The beds were comfortable as well. The area was nice, and safe to walk the streets at night. Shops, restaurants and Island Explorer shuttle bus were all accessible , and a short walking distance from our stay. Highly recommend .

We spent 2 nights at the Primrose at the end of October and wished it could have been 2 weeks! Our room was spotless and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. Th breakfasts were amazing, and the small touches like Halloween candy and cookies with tea in the afternoon added to the overall welcoming environment of the Inn. We would highly recommend it, and thank the staff for their gracious hospitality.

Staff was great. Breakfast was very good. Our problem was our room. Got the impression through the web site our room would have been much nicer for what we paid. King size bed was comfortable but took up the whole room. Literally had to walk sideways to get around the room. There was another room that had a window air conditioner in it and a small trundle like bed in it with a hole in the wall. For $500/ night, not worth it.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Primrose! It was the perfect location in Bar Harbor with restaurants in walkable distance and about a 10 minute drive to Acadia National Park. The bed was very comfortable and the room was plenty big for 2 people. The complimentary wine was just a bonus! Each one of the staff members was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Anna checked us in and immediately made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. She gave dinner recommendations and hiking recommendations for the next day. The chef Reckell made an outstanding breakfast each morning. There were always fresh baked goods as a starter and 2 options for main entrees. Each was served with a side and fresh fruit. Everything we tried was delicious! Billy was very attentive while serving us breakfast. We were always greeted with a smile and great hospitality. Brandon made great conversation and stepped in to help whenever it was needed. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend The Primrose to anyone traveling to Bar Harbor!

Cutest little inn. Clean, delicious breakfast, and perfect location. Walls are a little thin so you might hear your neighbors a bit. This wasn’t a dealbreaker, but something to note for light sleepers. Would definitely stay again!

We spent 2 nights at the Primrose at the end of October and wished it could have been 2 weeks! Our room was spotless and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. Th breakfasts were amazing, and the small touches like Halloween candy and cookies with tea in the afternoon added to the overall welcoming environment of the Inn. We would highly recommend it, and thank the staff for their gracious hospitality.

Excellent location to restaurants and shopping. Our room was clean and pretty. Bed was very comfortable! pillows not so much. Comfortable chairs in room. The breakfast was delicious!! You got to choose from two options. The staff was super friendly and helpful. My only complaint was not having a fridge in my room. They had one small universal fridge for entire place. They did have ice machine and water refilling station. I would definitely go back if in the bar harbor area.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Primrose! It was the perfect location in Bar Harbor with restaurants in walkable distance and about a 10 minute drive to Acadia National Park. The bed was very comfortable and the room was plenty big for 2 people. The complimentary wine was just a bonus! Each one of the staff members was welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. Anna checked us in and immediately made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. She gave dinner recommendations and hiking recommendations for the next day. The chef Reckell made an outstanding breakfast each morning. There were always fresh baked goods as a starter and 2 options for main entrees. Each was served with a side and fresh fruit. Everything we tried was delicious! Billy was very attentive while serving us breakfast. We were always greeted with a smile and great hospitality. Brandon made great conversation and stepped in to help whenever it was needed. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend The Primrose to anyone traveling to Bar Harbor!

All of the staff were so open and friendly. Special shout-out for Jill who scrounged the cupboards for my husband to have a late evening snack after a long first day of travel. The banana, peanut butter and graham crackers hit the spot! She was a huge help in so many ways. Brandon and the morning breakfast staff were wonderful and the food was terrific! Thanks to The Primrose for helping make our 40th Anniversary a memorable trip.

What a little gem to stay at ! I booked Primrose quite by chance for a three day off season stay. The staff were like family. Kind, warm accommodating. The chefs were amazing. The rooms, spotless, and the stay was like a coming home. We arrived super late around 11 pm. Anna called us around 7 to make sure we know all the restaurants in town will be closed by the time we get there and we may need to eat before getting to Bar Harbor. We had a swift check in and were offered a glass of wine and slipped into comfortable bed with good mattress ( thanks heavens for that mattress!). From that point everything was nice and swift. And what a great time to visit Bar Harbor if you are mainly going for the nature, hikes, and meditation , and not the crowd, I highly recommend first weeks of November!

Accessibility to the main street, accessibility to Arcadia Park, the market, walking paths around this place, quiet and peaceful, and all the staff at this place were people who truly enjoyed their work. If I go to Arcadia again, I will definitely stay there.

We had a lovely stay at The Primrose. The staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were outstanding, with two options each morning. Each afternoon freshly made cookies and dessert bars were available from approx. 3-7 pm. We stayed for 6 nights, and the options were different each day. Coffee and tea were available all day. We stayed in a Deluxe King room - it was clean, and bed was really, really comfortable - we slept amazing. The Primrose is located in a great spot - a quiet area, and able to walk to downtown Bar Harbor, where you’ll find great restaurants, bars, and companies for lobster/seal/whale watching tours, or bike/kayak rentals. Our reason for coming to Bar Harbor was to hike and bike in Acadia National Park, and we were able to drive to the Visitors Center or most of the trailheads within 10 minutes. The Primrose far exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend to my friends and family.

The Primose Inn is a treasure in Bar Harbor. You feel like you’re at home during your stay. Parking is easy, great tea collection, the breakfast menu is rotating every day. Brandon and the staff members take care of everything.

Staff was friendly and helpful in suggesting activities and restaurants. Breakfast so exceeded our expectations we need to call it out. Outstanding! Afternoon tea and snacks was the perfect way to end a day exploring Acadia!

Our stay at The Primrose was absolutely amazing! We were greeted after a long drive to complementary wine and a tour of the beautiful Primrose before settling in for the night. Our room was very clean and comfortable, it really did feel like home. Breakfast each morning was delicious and our room had a private spot on the porch to drink our coffee that overlooked the pollinator garden there, we saw so many hummingbirds! Another perk was tea time snacks starting at 2pm, we absolutely loved the desserts and coffee! Truly a gem right near the heart of town!

The Prim Rose Inn is a true gem! It is perfectly situated, making it easy to stroll into the bustle of Bar Harbor, walk across to Bar Island or launch out for the day hiking. What makes it exceptional is the staff. Elle and Anna were so welcoming, provided invaluable info about great hikes, places to eat. Anna was there to greet me each night and we shared great conversations. Breakfast was delicious and arriving after 4pm to freshly baked treats was great! The kitchen staff were so accommodating. I wanted to get out by 7am to beat the heat and the crowds-no problem! Within 10 minutes I was given a breakfast box with an amazing breakfast sandwich, extra bacon, fresh fruit, and a muffin! The next morning I enjoyed a relaxed breakfast of lemon ricotta pancakes with a blueberry sauce. The inn is charming, the rooms comfortable, bathrooms spotless. I highly recommend staying at the Prim Rose!

The next morning I enjoyed a relaxed breakfast of lemon ricotta pancakes with a blueberry sauce. The inn is charming, the rooms comfortable, bathrooms spotless. I highly recommend staying at the Prim Rose!
