This was my third time staying here within the past year. Each time I have found the rooms to be simple but very clean, comfortable, and in excellent condition. The breakfast is light and limited but adequate. The owners are friendly. Many of the rooms are on the smaller side but it's ideal because I am usually solo and doing work while I'm in town. I would recommend the Scottish Inn as a clean, affordable, and well-maintained facility. I expect to be staying there again soon.

The staff is friendly and accomodating, helping us with our minor requests. We had a dog with us and it was fine. Parking is easy, back yard and front yard access is good. Very close to a Walmart that has food and other necessities. Also, a gas station is a few minutes away. Continental breakfast is good for a grab and go.Would return as it is close to Clarkson university. Thanks!

The Scottish Inn offers a quiet, safe, clean place to stay. The parking is very convenient and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are small yet very clean.The bathroom was recently renovated. There are small refrigerators and a microwave in the room. The air-conditioner worked well. Our only complaint is the bed was not very supportive. This is a great option if you are looking for an economical place to stay. Breakfast was included they have muffins, bagels, cold cereal, fruit, coffee and tea.

This place is good for a simple stay. Muffins and fruit in the morning is provided, along wirh coffee and tea. Rooms are clean and adequate. It's just a basic hotel room good for rest at the end of the day. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Very clean with towel replacement, garbage emptied, bathroom tidied… The air conditioner was excellent which was appreciated give the excessive temperatures. Refrigerator worked well. I was given several bottled waters upon request. Coffee was available first thing in the morning. Managers were very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely stay again.

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, check in was quick and easy. Our room was very clean, beds were comfortable with plenty pillows. No complaints! We will stay here again on future trips to Potsdam. Our son attends nearby Clarkson University, and this motel is within 5 minutes of the college.

First it was affordable, and very clean, and safe. Great location for whatvwe were there for. Beds were fantastic, had free wifi for the kiddos. The staff was wonderful, very polite and helpful. The only thing indisliked was . I almost got hit by another vehicle as i was coming into the parking lot, because both of the ways in are labled as entrance, instead of one entrance and one exit.

Had a bit of trouble with the TV but seems to be a poor connection with the HDMI cable in the back of the TV; messing with it established a connection to the cable box. Very short distance to village of Potsdam with several great dining options. Very close to Clarkson and St Lawrence Universities

The rooms could use some updating. Our shower head needed to be replaced and it just could use a refresher. At least in our room. Also, walls are thin, every night could hear neighbors long after going to bed. The owner was kind and helpful.

When I arrived they had my booking wrong and argued to the point I had to show them my reservation. Then they tried to charge me 30$ for a service animal, then they wanted a registration for the service animal (which isn’t legal) and they pointed to their poster with the ADA guidelines which literally stated they are only allowed to ask the two questions: (1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and (2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform. Clearly they didn’t bother to read their own signage or they wouldn’t ask for an illegal registry. Then we got to our dirty microscopic room to find a unidentified wet substance on the carpet under the bed skirts, one bed not useable because it was completely flat (room 119 by the door) and their was nasty stuff on the floor along the edges of the bed where they don’t vacuum and the shower curtain had mold and soap scum on it. Not worth my 100$ considering for slightly more last night I was in a large two bedroom house that was clean (I paid 130$ total for that stay). There was a sketchy crowd in the parking lot that made us nervous. The AC didn’t work well at all, barely blew any cool-ish air. And the worst part was the fridge lacked a freezer causing me to loose my frozen supply of breastmilk for my formula intolerant baby. 😭

My husband and I visited friends up north for 5 days and we stayed in the Scottish Inns in Potsdam for 4 nights. The motel room was spotless; which we really appreciated. The owners were lovely, and welcoming. We would definitely stay there again. There is an amazing gift store directly across the street to browse.

The employees and room were excellent. It is a small inn but the rooms are very nice and clean. The only drawback is that it is right on route 11 which means that vehicles travel on the road during the night. By the second night, we didn't even notice it and slept really well.

We had a very pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, check in was quick and easy. Our room was very clean, beds were comfortable with plenty pillows. No complaints! We will stay here again on future trips to Potsdam. Our son attends nearby Clarkson University, and this motel is within 5 minutes of the college.

This was my third time staying here within the past year. Each time I have found the rooms to be simple but very clean, comfortable, and in excellent condition. The breakfast is light and limited but adequate. The owners are friendly. Many of the rooms are on the smaller side but it's ideal because I am usually solo and doing work while I'm in town. I would recommend the Scottish Inn as a clean, affordable, and well-maintained facility. I expect to be staying there again soon.

The staff is friendly and accomodating, helping us with our minor requests. We had a dog with us and it was fine. Parking is easy, back yard and front yard access is good. Very close to a Walmart that has food and other necessities. Also, a gas station is a few minutes away. Continental breakfast is good for a grab and go.Would return as it is close to Clarkson university. Thanks!

The Scottish Inn offers a quiet, safe, clean place to stay. The parking is very convenient and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are small yet very clean.The bathroom was recently renovated. There are small refrigerators and a microwave in the room. The air-conditioner worked well. Our only complaint is the bed was not very supportive. This is a great option if you are looking for an economical place to stay. Breakfast was included they have muffins, bagels, cold cereal, fruit, coffee and tea.

This place is good for a simple stay. Muffins and fruit in the morning is provided, along wirh coffee and tea. Rooms are clean and adequate. It's just a basic hotel room good for rest at the end of the day. I would stay here again without hesitation.

Ok place to stay in a pinch. Staff wasn't particularly friendly, deadbolt on the door didn't work. The toilet wouldn't flush if other people were using water. Forget amenities,these are basic things you would expect to have in a hotel room

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL THEY WILL SCAM YOU! Just recently visited where I was a solo traveler and stayed for three nights and during those three nights the shower didn't work. They didn't provide any toiletries beyond a bar soap and the smallest shampoo bottle. The main reason I'm writing this review is because after checking out of the hotel they charged me an additional $200 saying I brought an animal into the room even though I never did and refuse to correct this in a professional manner. They will try to charge you for bogus claims. I repeat DO NOT STAY HERE
