The Milford Inn on the River was such a delightful surprise. Our room was spacious, complete with a kitchen and a small balcony, which made it feel extra special. The beds were incredibly soft and comfortable, and I had one of the best night’s rests of my trip. Truly a hidden gem!

We were pleasantly surprised that our room had a kitchenette. Very clean and neat. Only thing we were disappointed with was the lack of the river view due to shrubbery and wooded growth out our window, but would happily stay there again !!

Excellent motel. Lynn was so very nice and both were very accommodating. We had been traveling for 11 days and needed a washer and dryer. Their facilities were perfect. Super clean and super quiet. Would definitely recommend this motel and we will return next time.

The owner/manager was lovely and helpful. My room was large and the bed very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, etc. There are areas that could be improved, but expected for a motel-type accommodation.

This is an older Motel which was more than adequate. It had everything I needed and was clean and safe. Best of all it had a small balcony which looked out at the Penobscot River. It was just what I was looking for, and the owners were very welcoming and accommodating. Thank you.

Good value. Owners were super accommodating, friendly, and helpful. The suite has a full kitchen which was convenient. The property was quiet. I would stay here again.

The owners were welcoming. The room was spacious and quiet. The motel is a little older but the rooms also have some updated touches. It’s clean and comfortable and the second floor rooms have a small deck. It is also close drive to some great restaurants.

Very nice rooms, great to have a kitchenette. Great views out the back on pine trees along the Penobscot River. Great relaxing weekend. Even the art work in our room was attractive. Good parking lot too - easy to pull in, and easy to pull out. Menus in the room - couldn't ask for anything more

Liked the practical efficiency of the room with kitchen table, comfortable reading chair, warm blankets, and tv. Also the deck looking out toward the river was quite nice. Didn’t like how old - almost dingy- the rug in the room was and overall worn look of the motel.

We are on a three weeks trip across New England and we’ve been staying at any kind of Motel, Hotel, Inn… including Hiltons and other popular brands. this is definitely the best place we’ve been for its genuinity. Plenty of space in the room, which was very clean and with all we needed for our three days stay. Recommended for visiting Bangor and its surroundings.

The unit was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a large stain on one of the bedspreads and the photos posted on the web site were a little misleading. We felt like we were staying in my 90 year old parents house.

We reserved a room at this motel based on the high ratings on the Expedia website. When we got there and went in we found it to be very run down. The towels in the bathroom had stains on them and we could hear a small animal in the ceiling. It was way over priced for the condition it was in.

The river view was beautiful, and the room was a comfortable size for our stay. However, we did notice that the cleanliness could be improved, particularly in the bathroom and kitchen areas. We were also given a "clean" towel that appeared to have a bloodstain, which was concerning. We hope these issues can be addressed, as the location and setting have a lot of potential.

AC unit put out cold air with strong mildew scent; room is very outdated but as clean as they can get it although there was mold in bathroom and dirt on fans left in the room; refrigerator leaked water internally and freezer section did not keep ice packs frozer- just chilled. sheets were clean, of note. and front desk was very accomodating when needing to add an extra dog and unexpected child. they allow for dogs but minimal safe space to take dogs for a walk beyond the space just behind or in front of motel. overall, they have done the best they can with the space but it didn't feel safe, clean or welcoming. and smells in the interior stair case were nauseating.

The bed was so comfortable, I had a difficult time getting out of it. The room was substantial, with a nice balcony, The screen was effective and useful to allow cool evening air in. It was a very peaceful setting on the river. Good restaurants and supermarkets are close by.

This is a true motel. It is an older property with older fixtures however it is clean, freshly painted, the beds seemed new, the kitchen in working order. This is a great choice for those who are heading out or returning from camping. One weekday morning was quite loud with workers leaving starting at 4am. This motel is a good value. PS the river is hidden behind trees and hedges, so don’t expect a panoramic view.

This was more like a 2-bedroom apartment (with 3 beds) than a motel. One bedroom was its own room, with a desk and a window overlooking the river. The rest was an open plan with 2 beds. Recliner chair, comfy chair, TV, full kitchen with table and chairs, patio with 2 chairs. The river view is greatly obstructed by trees, but they were pretty and this is Maine. Owner recommended Peppers Landing where we had the best seafood of our trip. The Main Street is a bit busy, rather noisy for walks but it was nice to sit on the deck and read a book. Owners gave it a personal, small town feel when you checked in. Highly recommended for the price.

Have been to this property before, which is why we wanted to come back. Would stay here again, only downside was the mattress had a dip in it, making it uncomfortable. Other than that, great place to stay.

The hotel was in a lovely spot with river view and a balcony for coffee in the morning. I especially loved the comfortable recliner for unwinding in front of TV. The place was homey. The staff friendly .Jayne the owner /manager was accommodating and helpful with recommendations for local shopping and food. Really enjoyable stay!

Jane was wonderful. She even brought us extra supplies without us needing to ask. The room was the perfect size unlike most motels with limited space to move about. The motel has been around for a long time and upkeep was great. The ability to adjust the room temperature was also perfect. The view of the river was great. Wish it was summer I bet the big pines and river are just beautiful. Welcomed our lab with no problems. Would recommend!

We had an amazing stay. The front lady was super informative about the place and upgraded our room without asking. The room was cleaned everyday and all our questions was answered with kindness. We loved our stay - with the river view ofcourse. Thanks for the lovely experience.

The stay at Milford Motel is quite pleasant. The motel is family friendly, quiet, and clean, and the owner, a nice lady, is very attentive, informative and friendly. The view of river is a plus and there are great restaurants and places of interest nearby.

The room was lovely, and very affordable. Even in travel seasons like October. The couple who runs it are very sweet and the room had a very homey feel with a kitchenette and even clean mugs, dishes, silverware, and a teapot. You get a medium fridge, microwave, found a toaster, etc. it was a lifesaver when other lesser rated hotels were charging double the rate with less charm anyways

We enjoyed staying at the Milford Motel on the River. It wasn't 5 star, but it's not rated a 5 star. It was clean, great price, good view of the river, and the staff were very friendly. We'd stay there again when back in the Bangor area.

The owners were so kind and welcoming. They knew we had our children with us and brought granola bars and bottled water to our room while making sure we were settling in okay. The rooms were clean and cozy. We would stay here again 🙂

Management was very pleasant to work with we had one issue that they came and fixed immediately with the TV the hotel itself is very clean quiet area right off the street it's a little outdated but comfortable and had everything that we needed

the owner was nice but the motel is somewhat overpriced, convenient to stores but in a bad area. although it is 'on the river' you can't see the river.

This was an amazing time here, I stayed two days with my dog! The owner was really friendly and kind. This motel is a little Gem in Milford only 1 hour and 20 mins from Bar Harbor. It’s cute, safe and comfortable! Every room was unique. They are like apartments and would definitely stay again!

Cozy accommodation. Great amenities. Our unit came with a kitchenette, making it convenient for us to prepare our own meals. It's kind of a drive to get to restaurants, a convenience store, and a grocery store, but the area is really pretty, and the motel is situated next to the Penobscot River.

Perfect stay! Very clean, spacious rooms! Great location, just 1 hour to Acadia National park. Highly recommended!

Very quaint old school motel in great quiet location. Not on a main strip. A little outdated and could use some minor upgrades. Definitely worth the price. I would stay here again.

We loved the scenery and the private decks looking out over the river. The staff was very friendly and helpful….. we will definitely be coming back as our son started at the University of Maine……

Stanza spaziosa, letto comodo, cucinino con frigo, macchina del caffè, fornelli e microonde, bagno con vasca, wifi ben funzionante, vista sul fiume. Un soggiorno delizioso.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly. However I feel the “view of the river” was misleading. You could barely see the river through the trees when you looked out the back window of the room!

I had a very enjoyable stay! The staff was very nice and friendly. We had a last min trip to Bangor for the night and needed a place to stay. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom which made it very enjoyable for our family of 4 and dogs. We will definitely be back when coming back down to Bangor overnight!

Jane, the owner was friendly and helpful. While the property is older, it was clean and the soap was amazing (small things :-) The kitchenette was a bonus and they didn't have an ice machine when I was there but they had bags of ice & they were willing to let me fill my small cooler :-) Bar Harbor priced us out, so we drove the distance for affordability but I would stay again to support small business and the economy outside of Bar Harbor/Acadia. Also, only about an hour from The Lost Kitchen in Freedom, Maine where we drove the next day as opposed to back to Bar Harbor.
