Very outdated rooms. Needs many repairs. The air conditioning cut off during the night both nights. The hallway shower is not practical for adults. The walk to the beach was a good distance not easy to be able to make trips back to your room. The after hours checkin process was great. The pool is nice the hot tub was closed when we got back from dinner which would be the best time to use it. The main bed was very comfortable but not the twin size. There was no curtains on one of the windows in the bedroom and the outside light caused the room to be very bright all night.

There was a lot to do on the property. Swimming inside or out, mini golf, basketball, tennis, pickle ball, a playground, grills or a 2 minute drive to the state park. Fort Macon was full of history. My husband and I loved the area. We went before the Memorial day weekend. It was quiet and relaxing.

It was very nice resort all pools closed at 6 after a 4 pm check in and even put put everything closed was kinda disappointing but water slide was cool.. Long Walk from dock to beach I would give 7.0

What a wonderful spot! On the beach and have plenty of options to do onsite too! From the beach to mini golfing, it has it all. I loved it and plan to come back every year for vacation!

This was our second time staying at A Place at the Beach and we loved it. We love how it is right there at the beach and how they have a playground area and indoor pool, since we have a 2.5 year old. The staff is very nice and helpful when we asked questions. We will definitely be back! :)

The place is really nice it has everything that a family needs in and out side pool, has basketball court, soccer goals a playground tether ball the options are endless my family and I had a wonderful time it has beach access too and it’s private so it wasn’t crowded at all it was over all a great experience

Room was not cleaned properly, dryer did not work, refrigerator made a weird noise, bowls in kitchen were dirty, carpet old and dirty, floors dirty, furniture seemed as if it was found at a thrift store/furniture - did not match, and lastly room smelled like it was recently sprayed with bug spray!

This is our annual stay at A Place At The Beach for over 20 years. We also used to own a unit. our horrible experience and pictures on this vacation. The place was so dirty when we walked in I had to clean it. I just thought that it was the beach and dusty. I thought wrong. My family including me can’t stop coughing or sneezing. Due to all the dust and dirt in every corner. The patio is disgusting. The carpet is ay least 20 years old. I am sure there are flies in it. Moldy shower curtains, no screens on windows, doors off the tracks. I could go on and on. Please see photos attached. I also would like someone to contact me so we can move out of this space. The air conditioner does not work and the front office has no clue how to help me. Please see pictures below.

Balcony was unusable due to an excessive amount of pigeon poop that had not been cleaned up for sometime, a large live roach in the bathtub, the shower curtain rod was laying in the tub… but we did like the fact that there was 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette… the ice maker did not work. With a little xtra care, this could be a very nice place to stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The grounds were well kept. People were friendly. Our grandkids enjoyed the pools and playground. They even enjoyed the poolside bingo hosted by the staff. The condo was spacious and provided everting we needed. The bed was comfortable. However the master bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly upon arrival. There was a used washcloth left in the shower, the faucet on the sink had soap stains. And there was a glob of hair on the bathroom floor.

We really enjoyed our stay. The grounds were well kept. People were friendly. Our grandkids enjoyed the pools and playground. They even enjoyed the poolside bingo hosted by the staff. The condo was spacious and provided everting we needed. The bed was comfortable. However the master bathroom was not cleaned thoroughly upon arrival. Great value in the off season. Pool and hot tub were great. Room was spacious and beach was right there. No restaurants on site, so hav bring your own food ( full kitchen in room) or travel offsite. Wifi was weak, but not bad to disconnect for 2 days. Will book again!

I like the idea of the place, having a resort feel with beach access. But it fell short of my expectations. I instantly felt uncomfortable and had buyer's remorse once I stepped into the room. This place but particularly our room needs a complete makeover update, from the carpet to the appliances, to the balcony, and the bathroom.

Unfortunately, when we arrived (after office hrs) due to long travel, our room packet was not in the drop box. We were tired, exhausted and just wanted to start our vacation. It turns out that they gave our room to someone else who apparently had the same first name. Only person onsite was a security guard who was only 3 days on the job. He didn\'t have a key to access the other drop boxes to check if maybe it was accidently put in another location. We finally got a hold of a remote manager. She initially offered us a smaller room and I refused. Then she came up with an "emergency" room that they hold for such occurrences (should have offered that first). It was not a great location nor view but we accepted. The rest of the vacation was fine but not a great start and felt we should have received some compensation for our troubles. Never got a follow up phone call either. Customer service and check in process needs improvement as these mistakes shouldn\'t happen these days. Not sure if I will stay here again.

They supposedly had thought we only booked til Sunday when obviously booked til Monday. They sent someone to our room without making contact with me first. Thankfully we had just come back from the beach and was just about to leave again when I hear the door just open to my room. All three locks being locked should have told him there was someone inside. Or at least have warranted a knock before an intrusion. Then to top it off when talking with workers we never got so much as an apology. I took the situation very seriously being almost robbed in a past hotel room stay. But they only joked about the situation. Saying "well how's that for a wake up call". Everything else was very nice from the ease of booking to the room and amenities. But we will never stay at this property again.

It was very nice resort all pools closed at 6 after a 4 pm check in and even put put everything closed was kinda disappointing but water slide was cool.. Long Walk from dock to beach I would give 7.0

My spouse and best friend loved the property, so nice to have a pool and beach so close. Condo was clean and had all cooking supplies. We will be investing in this property in the future.

Great value in the off season. Pool and hot tub were great. Room was spacious and beach was right there. No restaurants on site, so hav bring your own food ( full kitchen in room) or travel offsite. Wifi was weak, but not bad to disconnect for 2 days. Will book again!

This was our first time staying here and now we will be taking yearly trips to A Place at the Beach!!! The rooms were very clean and had plenty of cooking materials to get us through a quick weekend trip (bowls, casserole dishes, silverware, spatulas). The pool was just a little walk down the stairs and the beach was less than 5 minutes! The pool was a hit with my family- my son and husband went down the water slide probably a hundred times! It was a great stay and we really enjoyed our time. Next year (when the kids are older) we will take time to do all the other activities they have around the complex. Overall it was a 10/10 stay. We will be back, thank you!

Balcony was unusable due to an excessive amount of pigeon poop that had not been cleaned up for sometime, a large live roach in the bathtub, the shower curtain rod was laying in the tub… but we did like the fact that there was 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette… the ice maker did not work. With a little xtra care, this could be a very nice place to stay.

This is a good place to take kids, we took our grandchildren and they had a blast. It was five adults and two small kids, which made it a little tight when we were all in the room. It is 41 steps that you have to go up to get to your room, which was a challenge at times. The elevator is at the far end of the building, so it wasn’t real convenient to use it. If you’re young with kids it is a reasonably priced place where your family will have fun. If you’re older and you’re looking for easy access to get to the beach, it is not the place for you.

For our girls trip we wanted to shell the beaches of the Outer Banks. This location was perfect for access to the beach, all the activities and necessities offered in the area as well as proximity to the charters and ferrys.With a rare three bedroom and three bath arrangement, the four of us had plenty of space to spread out and still feel together in the shared spaces.Check in was easy, the owner communicated thoroughly, the kitchen was very well appointed, everything we needed for a beach stay was provided. Just had to bring our own beach towels. The facility is undergoing some renovations of roofs, outdoor pool. There are a lot of things to do for families. The boardwalk takes you right to the beautiful clean beach, and if it's raining you can swim or hot tub in the indoor area. What a plus for those gray or cooler days.The unit has a nice view of the courtyard and the ocean. It's wonderful to sip morning coffee from the balcony and listen to the birds. For as large as the complex is, the unit and halls were quiet. Aside from a few small maintenance needs, any group of 3 or more would find this unit "A great place at the beach." We would definitely rebook this unit if we return to the area.

We were very disappointed in our stay over Easter break. We were NOT informed that there would be major construction on the roof during our stay. The playground area was closed the entire weekday. Two of the days the hot tub was closed due to construction equipment in the area. The workers began at 7:30 in the morning and usually worked until seven at night. I had several grandchildren with me and were awakened to noise. On Friday, the workers began at 7 o’clock with the beeping noise of moving equipment. While having coffee sitting in the the living room I looked up to see a worker in a cherry picker at the sliding door. Access to the beach was quite a feat figuring out which direction to go in. The condo is at the end of the building and by the time you would get to the beach access area you were instructed to cut across to another area. The owner was notified of our disappointment with pictures sent. Her response was it looks like the construction moved onto a different section and how fortunate we were. Also, that she had checked with Management and there should not have been a problem getting on the beach. Maybe she should’ve asked other renters over Soring break their comments. There was plenty of complaints shared on the beach.

Being able to walk to the beach right from the condo early in the morning & in the evening. The indoor pool & hot tub was really nice too.
