The hotel had to repair the elevator and since my reservation was for the penthouse, I opted for a ground floor room. The hotel refunded me the difference in price. Our room was clean and beds comfy. The pool area was clean had lots of lounge chairs. The one pool was closed for cleaning but there was another one. We had a very nice stay but we were disappointed we didn’t get the penthouse.

person at the front desk Howard was great we stayed in remodeled room it was clean no issues with internet and water pressure was good. the restaurant in the hotel which was a pizza place was great food easy and convenient for one of our dinners

Rooms are renovated and beds were comfortable. Gorgeous view from our balcony. Nice walk way to the beach. Pools were clean. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. Hot tub wasn’t working, property only has one elevator for nine floors. No ac in the elevator and it is slow. Bring your own beach chairs or you will have to rent them $$.

This hotel is older but updated. You do not get anything fancy, but it was clean and a nice place to sleep. Disappointed the hot tub was closed during our stay, but everything else was as stated. Great views and everything that was needed for a short trip.

Elevator was down for over an hour, right at check- in. Hot tub & pools where closed. Limited parking, had to park across the street. Painting on 1st floor was happening when we checked in.

the hot tub was not working so could not use that and was not told that at reservation time or at check in. There is not enough parking in their lot for rooms they have so if u dont get there real early u wont get a spot u have to park across the street. Only 1 elevator worked. And the ice machine was missing on our floor so had to go down to first floor to get it and we were on the 8th floor. No real dresser in room just shelves to share. Not many plugs in the room and i have a cpap machine so that was a problem.

Hotel was quiet. Elevator was broken half the time we were there on the 6th floor. Zero water pressure in the shower. Pools were clean. Staff was amazing and very friendly.

Loved the two queen beds in different rooms. Rooms were clean. Ac was awesome stayed perfectly chilled all day and night. Tv could have been upgraded as it had a bit of a warble to it but that’s just finding something to be picky about. Only one elevator but was never a problem going up and down. Pools were immaculate and hot tub was hot and functional. Clean, helpful staff, would come again!

Comfortable bed. Huge pool deck with 2 pools and small hot tub. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Located on the far southern side of MB away from the traffic and chaos. Nice little getaway place!

We had a great view. The beds were the most comfortable I’ve slept in in any hotel or condo or house! The room was pleasant and roomy with a nice bathroom with a walk in shower. It’s an older hotel but seems to be getting some loving care. My only complaint is that the floor was dirty and I don’t mean with sand. So much so that after the first hour we were there we decided we had to wear our sandals the rest of our time there when in the room.

It served its purpose for an overnight, but i would not want to stay longer than that. The room was updated but the floors were gross. Room service just "cleaned". We walked into damp floors and a bleach smell but found hairs still stuck to the floor and it appeared like they just pushed "mopped" things to the corners. A little more thorough vacuum would have been nice. Found a little stain on one of the pillowcases as well. Kind of gave me the heebie jeebies. I've seen worse and it served its purpose. Got to see the sunrise in the morning with the oceanview and its on beach location.

This Room I was very dissapppointed in, bathroom was kinda grungie and the tiles are dirty, definately needs a good scrub. Beds are Comfy and the view is awesome and the Priuce was very good. However, the Pool and Hottub) which is outside were closed for the season. My opinion is the Hot Tub could be in season all year especially in the winter months.

Great close location on the beach. Room was recently renovated and we enjoyed the ocean front view and the kitchenette in our room. Close to lots of places to eat and grocery stores so we cooked in the room every meal but one where we had food from the restaurant in the hotel. Wings and Baja chicken subs are legit. We ended up booking a third night whiile there and changed Rooms down be floor as the be we were in was already booked and it was also new inside and clean. It was just my fridge and micro so that’s the night we ate from restaurant and no cooking. I would def stay here again. Rooms are way cheaper during the week. Only thing that’s kinda annoying is there is only 1 elevator and when the other ice machine in on the first floor it can take awhile to go from top floor and back having to stop going up and down so often. Other than that we had a great time and will stay here again :)

The room was actually so clean and new. The hallways were out of date but tbe room was newer as advertised. View was great. Location was great, quieter more towards the south end. A good place to stay if you dont care too much about amenities. My only complaint is that my door to my room, seemed to be off the hinges a bit. Didnt seem the safest but the extra lock did work. I was too tired and busy while there to say anything about it while there. Other than that this is a good clean hotel for the money.

We stayed on the 6th floor and the internet and cell reception was slow considering how close we were to the airport. The air conditoner struggled to keep the room cool during the 70 degree weather. The water temp did not get much hotter than warm or have much pressure. The tv was a bit confusing to work as it took us straight to the input screen and kept saying it had no signal. We finally figured out how to get to the cable. We had requested maintence to troubleshoot it the first night but they never showed as it was at the end of their shift. We had them come the next day and they seemed inconvenienced by our issues and did not actually solve anything. Upon inspection when we first arrived there was some fine hairs in the shower and a hair in the bedding. Great view overlooking the water and close to restaurants, grocery, and right on the beach.

The beginning was a little rocky, the A/C didn't seem to cool our room, our TV didn't work and we heard gun shots nearby. We called the front desk and told Herman our issue and he came up to fix the TV and noticed how warm it was in our room. He then went the extra mile for us and put us in a upgraded room with a working TV and cold A/C. He is a great asset to the hotel and made our visit so much better!

When we got to Tropical Seas there was confusion about how my After Pay worked. The front desk manager was nice but confusing. We paid for the stay and checked in. The lobby had a really strong smell of some type of air freshener and it was bad. Walking to our room the hallways smelled like pee and were dirty, as was the elevator. I didn’t want to put my suitcase down. We got to the room and it smelled bad. I get migraines and if I had tried to stay in that room I would have been in pain. The floors in the bathroom were dirty and the balcony had two cheap plastic chairs. I was really upset. I cried but my husband calmed me down. We decided to leave and loose our money. My husband went to the front desk and told them our issues and luckily they refunded all but one night. The hotel room looks much nicer in the pics. I got the feeling this might be more of a party hotel. The front desk manager was helpful and was able to refund 2 nights. The customer service was good and helpful. The hotel just isn’t as nice as the pictures and the reviews don’t match what I saw.

I didn’t want to put my suitcase down. We got to the room and it smelled bad. I get migraines and if I had tried to stay in that room I would have been in pain. The floors in the bathroom were dirty and the balcony had two cheap plastic chairs. I was really upset. I cried but my husband calmed me down. We decided to leave and loose our money. My husband went to the front desk and told them our issues and luckily they refunded all but one night. The hotel room looks much nicer in the pics. I got the feeling this might be more of a party hotel. The front desk manager was helpful and was able to refund 2 nights. The customer service was good and helpful. The hotel just isn’t as nice as the pictures and the reviews don’t match what I saw.

As always, booking through Expedia was so easy. I found Tropical Seas at the last minute as I was in route with my teenage daughter for a 3 night stay at Myrtle Beach (Wed. - Sat.) to wrap up her Spring Break. The resort checked every box and it was budget friendly. I wanted an oceanfront view that was centrally located and got exactly that. I felt safe when we arrived at midnight and throughout my stay. Overflow parking was directly across the street with plenty of space. Check-in was painless and the staff was extremely welcoming. The room appeared clean and was a decent size with 2 Queen beds and a kitchenette. There was no internet access in my room the first day. I had an upcoming Teams call so I made a complaint with the receptionist who was so pleasant. The issue wasn’t resolved timely enough for me so I drove to Starbucks to work until noon. While the WiFi issue, wasn’t resolved until Friday, the resort made every attempt to troubleshoot and put me in contact with the 3rd party responsible for the internet. Overall, I was very pleased with my stay. I asked for a lot and this resort delivered.

The workers are very rude. If you book on Expedia it is not what you see is what you pay. You have to wait 10 min or moore for the elevator 1 elevator for 9 floors the parking we had to pay for my sister car and staff didnt care. I came from Charlotte and my sister came from Charleston to spend a few days with each other and they refused to give us 2 parking pass even though you ask me how many adults is in the room. Just horrible experience all around we will never stay here again.

Every single employee I encountered from maintenance people to housekeepers to front desk people were incredibly friendly and professional on several occasions. It’s like they all received the same customer service training and all took pride in actually delivering quality service! Love the view, balconies, parking and clean bug free rooms!

Staff were friendly, price was good. We liked the easy beach access and overall location just south of all the flashy loudness of the strip center. The hotel is older but in reasonably good condition and the room was pretty clean. The hardware on our door room was quite old - once we thought we were locked out because of a loose door handle but it worked after a couple tries. No problem. Under similar circumstances, we’d probably stay again.

Another great long weekend at Tropical Seas Hotel. I like how it is away from the main attractions in Myrtle Beach so it is a little more quiet and less busy. Beachfront location, close to airport and Market Commons.

Had several minor issues during our stay that nobody seemed real interested in addressing. 1st the room we had was not what we booked. We were on the first floor right across from the laundry room and were the maids kept their carts. Constant noise. Our ocean view room was a pool view with a view of the grass beyond that no beach. Several Staff we tried to talk to were not friendly. The Place was fairly clean but despite being directly across from the maid station our room was never serviced. We took our own trash out and had to go ask for towels. Parking was an issue and a lot of people parking there without tags. We couldn't use our balcony because people were sitting in chairs right in front of our room. Tried to contact manager multiple times just to ask some questions and they never heard back. There was also mold in the room above our balcony door and the air conditioning was iffy which isn't ideal for July in South Carolina. Would possibly be willing to give it another chance if some concerns were addressed.

We enjoyed our Saturday stay at the Tropical Seas Hotel. The staff was friendly & helpful at check-in and provided us a 4th floor unit. Our room was not ocean front - but the open beach access area gave our side unit w/ balcony a nice view of the ocean. The room looked like it was recently refurbished with attractive vinyl plank flooring, newer bedding, furniture, and nice bathroom fixtures. The fridge, coffee maker & micro-wave were a plus. But the interior corridor's concrete floor & hallway could use some refurbishing in the future. We also enjoyed our walks on the beach & watching a Sunday morning sunrise.

Great close location on the beach. Room was recently renovated and we enjoyed the ocean front view and the kitchenette in our room. Close to lots of places to eat and grocery stores so we cooked in the room every meal but one where we had food from the restaurant in the hotel. Wings and Baja chicken subs are legit. We ended up booking a third night whiile there and changed Rooms down be floor as the be we were in was already booked and it was also new inside and clean. It was just my fridge and micro so that’s the night we ate from restaurant and no cooking. I would def stay here again. Rooms are way cheaper during the week. Only thing that’s kinda annoying is there is only 1 elevator and when the other ice machine in on the first floor it can take awhile to go from top floor and back having to stop going up and down so often. Other than that we had a great time and will stay here again :)

I have two major complaints about this property. First off on the morning of check out I was woken up at 9 AM by housekeeping. Check out is not until 11 AM so I’m not sure why they were knocking on my door so early. This interrupted my rest and highly upset me. They have a pizzeria on site. As I got into the evening and got hungry I called the number on the hotel card to place an order. When I went to pick up my order, I was told that the number on the card was associated with a pizzeria down the street under the same name and not the one in the hotel. I have never in my life heard of such. I canceled my order and had to eat McDonald’s that night. Overall, I’m not very happy at all with the property.

We paid a good dollar to stay there, we were so disappointed with house keeping, we had to complain every day, our bed wasnt being made, short on towels ,no floor was being swept. I asked if the room would be taken care of or do we need to ask, he said our room would be taken care of. One time the house keeping manager cleaned our room. We left $10. Tips daily. The restaurant was dirty. We wouldnt get the pizza again. Other than that our stay was good.

I liked everything about the hotel except for there being only one elevator and one ice maker for the entire building. The room was great and had a good view of the ocean. The pools and deck were always spotless and the direct beach access was so convenient. The staff was friendly and offered good suggestions for things to do.

Staff was super friendly & helpful. Room was clean. We had a little kitchen & dishwear was provided. Loved the hottub & pool on premises. Right on the ocean was amazing & was able to see dolphins almost every day. They had little pizza place on 2nd floor. Definitely would stay again.

I had an Oceanfront Queen efficiency. The room was simply put but nice and the oceanfront view was beautiful but there was no hot water my entire 3 night stay. The pool was shut down by the health inspector. But to be in Myrtle Beach enjoying the proximity of the ocean for only $345 dollars after resort fees and taxes and in a nice room, it was worth it

Our room and bathroom was very clean ... it was right on the beach . We just opened our balcony door and had an amazing view of ocean .... the 2 pools and hot tub was very clean not to crowded . Only complaints I have was I had to take the stairs because it was impossible to get the elevator.... we had to go to the side door to bring in our bags wait a good half hour to get the elevator to take bags to upper floor ... However the good out weighed the bad honestly .... it seems a lil out dated could use a lil updated over all ...... The restaurant on the 2nd floor was amazing. The food was amazing... I would definitely recommend this place for a quiet family vacation budget friendly.... a bit of a walk to all the really fun stuff but was worth it..... The staff was so kind and helped with anything and everything we asked about.... ❤️ this place ..
