Keine Anmeldung an der Rezeption, nur noch Self-Service-Check-in an Displays. Ich hatte keinen passenden Check-in-Code. Das Personal musste eingreifen, danach war ein Self-Service-Check-in per Handy notwendig. Kein Einzelfall: Ca. die Hälfte der gleichzeitig eintreffenden Gäste hatte ähnliche Probleme. Hier wird falsch am Personal gespart. Der Fahrstuhl war zu meinem letzten Buchungszeitraum defekt. Das a&o Nürnberg ist ein in die Jahre gekommenes Ho(s)tel mit einheitlicher Ketten-Einrichtung. Man kann Zweibett- oder wie ich günstige Mehrbettzimmer buchen. Das Zimmer war an sich sauber (habe aber auch nicht nach Problemen gesucht) und bot den einheitlichen, a&o-typischen Mindeststandard. Statt Spind gibt es einen geräumigen Metallkäfig, der per Vorhängeschloss (mitbringen oder mieten) verschlossen wird. Vorteil: viel Platz. Nachteil: Jeder sieht, was drin ist. Direkt am Bett gibt es Licht und eine Steckdose. Die Stahl-Etagenbetten bieten eher schlechte, nicht atmungsaktive Matratzen. Die Zimmer variieren von geräumig bis eng zugestellt – hatte ich alles schon in diesem Haus. Man braucht Glück. Bad/WC sind immer winzig. Die Fenster lassen sich nur ankippen, eine Klima fehlt (Ventilator leihbar). Fazit: Das a&o ist okay, für wenig Geld gibt es entsprechend wenig. In dem Preisbereich geht es viel schlechter, aber auch um einiges besser. Das Check-in-System ist jedoch eine Frechheit.

The front desk non existent. Also they didn’t specify that the 1 room was a cohabitation with opposite gender. Spend the first three days sleeping with men. No where did it say it was cohabitation with the opposite gender and no where did it say the room was a shared space. I had to find somewhere else to stay because I need my space and privacy. The men where also awkward because there was a women sleeping with them. Roughest nights of my life. The only person was nice was the housekeeper. Do not recommend and I will be getting a refund for the remaining nights I booked I didn’t even used.

Zimmer sehr klein. Kaum Ablagefläche, Toilette nur schrägsitzend nutzbar, Treppenhaus und Aufzug sehr alt. Einziger Pluspunkt ist die Lage. Man ist schnell in der Innenstadt und am Bahnhof. Aber uns wird das Hotel nicht mehr wieder sehen...
