I have a heavy background in architecture, restoration and historic preservation, plus I lived in Europe...and this is one of the best places I've ever stayed. It's absolutely gorgeous and super clean with plenty of places to relax and enjoy this historic property. The house was very quiet at night for a good nights sleep. The innkeeper is wonderful and makes your stay superior. LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I can't wait to return : )

Beautiful home and property! We stayed in the Safari Room...the entrance is through the library on the second floor. The bathroom is narrow but not a problem. We were able to enjoy breakfast outside...choice of porches and seating..there is also two dining rooms inside. The breakfast food was tasty...the food is brought to you...no choices, no coffee cakes, no buffet. Coffee is put out at 8am but there is another coffee station upstairs that is always available. Shelly, the hostess-manager, was very informative and helpful. In the evening you can sit outside and watch the neighborhood wildlife (a family of deer) come by for a brief visit! You can easily walk to everything...shopping, restaurants, beach, pier, art fairs, etc. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Boyden House was amazing! We stayed in room 5 (Amber's Room), and could not be happier. The private terrace was amazing to enjoy a summer evening. Host was great and gave good recommendations. Breakfast was delicious. Could not recommend more.

Shelly is so sweet and helpful! Loved the Koi pond. Room very comfortable. Breakfast was awesome. Beautiful house. Even saw a deer in the driveway!!

We absolutely LOVED this place. Perfect location, amazing town,delicious breakfasts, spectacular innkeeper (Shelli). Even has a refrigerator for the guests to store drinks, leftovers, etc. Both the front porch and back yard areas are fantastic to sit and read or watch the world go by. HIGHLY recommend!

This was my first time visiting Grand Haven. Boyden House was conveniently located to a number of restaurants and the downtown area, However, the beach was at least a 30-35 minute walk--not the 18 minute as advertised. My room was nicely furnished and clean with updates and a minor repair pending. The bed was very comfortable. In addition to the morning breakfast, a shared kitchen with fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea/bottled water/cocoa/and popcorn was available The area was quiet and there was off street parking. It was a pleasant stay.

It was a great stay with an exceptionally customer service host, Shelly. She was very welcoming and clearly takes great pride in her management of this historic (built in 1872!) B&B. The grounds are immaculate and there are great places to just sit and relax. And her breakfast was superb! Homemade quiche (which I wasn’t a real fan of before this!), delicious fresh strawberries, and great coffee!

Our stay was great! Centrally located to the downtown area, walking distance to most! The beach is a little further but not too far! The beds were decent, and everything was clean! Keep in mind this house is a historic house and does come with its share of creaks and old decor. Shelly the host was very welcoming and helpful. All in all I would absolutely stay there again.

Shelly was amazing. The house was beautiful. Quiet, comfortable bed, clean room, and delicious breakfast. The location is in walking distance from the boardwalk and downtown area. Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back in the future.

Beautiful outside but very shabby inside. Our room was a disaster--outdated furniture and bed, filthy carpet, broken down easy chairs, floor seriously slanting, walls needing paint, etc., etc. We will never stay there again and will not recommend it to our friends. Owner was understanding and cancelled remainder of our stay with no charge--that was the best part.

Shelly is a very friendly host, she greeted us and showed us around the house. The room was very clean and as expected based on pictures. Wonderful area, peaceful neighborhood, and overall great stay!

A lot of traffic and it sounded like a window was open. My room was on the corner along side both streets. Also, it is an older house but beautiful. You could hear people when they walked around. But I would say in the b&b in the future. Great experience!

Lovely Inn with very comfortable accommodations. Shelley is the “hostess with the mostest”! She makes wonderful breakfasts and the best chocolate chip cookies. And she makes you feel at home. I would highly recommend Boyden House.

It was a great stay with an exceptionally customer service host, Shelly. She was very welcoming and clearly takes great pride in her management of this historic (built in 1872!) B&B. The grounds are immaculate and there are great places to just sit and relax. And her breakfast was superb! Homemade quiche (which I wasn’t a real fan of before this!), delicious fresh strawberries, and great coffee!

Our stay was great! Centrally located to the downtown area, walking distance to most! The beach is a little further but not too far! The beds were decent, and everything was clean! Keep in mind this house is a historic house and does come with its share of creaks and old decor. Shelly the host was very welcoming and helpful. All in all I would absolutely stay there again.

Shelly was amazing. The house was beautiful. Quiet, comfortable bed, clean room, and delicious breakfast. The location is in walking distance from the boardwalk and downtown area. Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely be back in the future.

We absolutely LOVED this place. Perfect location, amazing town,delicious breakfasts, spectacular innkeeper (Shelli). Even has a refrigerator for the guests to store drinks, leftovers, etc. Both the front porch and back yard areas are fantastic to sit and read or watch the world go by. HIGHLY recommend!

This was my first time visiting Grand Haven. Boyden House was conveniently located to a number of restaurants and the downtown area, However, the beach was at least a 30-35 minute walk--not the 18 minute as advertised. My room was nicely furnished and clean with updates and a minor repair pending. The bed was very comfortable. In addition to the morning breakfast, a shared kitchen with fridge, microwave, and coffee/tea/bottled water/cocoa/and popcorn was available The area was quiet and there was off street parking. It was a pleasant stay.

I was traveling through Grand Haven and chose The Boyden house as my overnight stay. This B&B has a lot of local history, is walking distance to downtown activities and convenient to access roads. Clean, kind, quiet, scenic. I will return when I get back to Grand Haven.

Beautiful home and property! We stayed in the Safari Room...the entrance is through the library on the second floor. The bathroom is narrow but not a problem. We were able to enjoy breakfast outside...choice of porches and seating..there is also two dining rooms inside. The breakfast food was tasty...the food is brought to you...no choices, no coffee cakes, no buffet. Coffee is put out at 8am but there is another coffee station upstairs that is always available. Shelly, the hostess-manager, was very informative and helpful. In the evening you can sit outside and watch the neighborhood wildlife (a family of deer) come by for a brief visit! You can easily walk to everything...shopping, restaurants, beach, pier, art fairs, etc. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Lovely Inn with very comfortable accommodations. Shelley is the “hostess with the mostest”! She makes wonderful breakfasts and the best chocolate chip cookies. And she makes you feel at home. I would highly recommend Boyden House.

The Boyden Mansion is breathtaking! The quality of the restoration, the character of the building and the atmosphere are stunning. The property is surrounded by other large historic properties of similar quality and character. Our room was large and well appointed. The bathroom, while dated was charming as it matched the era of the home. The front porch was large and ideal for enjoying a hearty breakfast. The staff was very charming and hospitable. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
