It is listed as having a pool. The staff said there hasn’t been a pool in a year or better. This is why we came to this hotel. This needs to be removed from the offer. Very disappointing.

Overall not a bad stay, the room did have a few dead Beatles on the floor in the entry way, other than that the only other complaint was the pool was closed but was never announced or shown when booking the room. Having a young child we booked based on this hotel having a pool. We were disappointed.

We were expecting to use the pool, however it was closed. I feel like we should have had our room rate reduced when that was one of the perks advertised.

Didn't eat breakfast, as there was a soccer tournament and the lobby was full. I didn't try the gym. I visited cause my sister passed away and I was there for her funeral. I will definetly stay there again when I am in Muscatine again. The only thing I didn't like was the elevator was scary. It made a weird sound when going up/down. Otherwise the hotel was clean, beautiful room. The bed was a little hard but wasn't terrible. Check in was easy, the front desk employee was very nice and sympathetic. Her kindness is what makes me want to come stay there when I come back into town. Housekeepers do a wonderful job of making sure the room is clean, I didn't see one speck of dust.

The bedding on one of the beds smelled and had visible dirt. The bathroom smelled sour. There were splashes of stuff on a wall and a headboard. The room smelled like dirty feet. But the property itself was nice and well kept. Staff was really nice. I have pictures if you'd like to see.

We were greeted by a very friendly desk agent. We then entered our room to find it squeaking clean. The only drawback was that the breakfast was awful. But we weren’t there for breakfast. Highly recommended.

My basic requirements for a hotel stay are quiet and a hot shower. Both requirements were met. Breakfast was pretty standard for Hampton Inn. Bed and room furniture were fine. The problems were minor maintenance issues - screws sticking out of a poorly aligned door frame, perhaps mold around fire suppression system... (photos attached) I have stayed here before and probably will again.

I arrived to a strong mold smell in the room. I assumed it was just humidity from the a/c. I went to bed and found multiple hairs and fresh stains. The toilet would not stop running each time unless I took the back off to fix it. I woke up in the morning to shower and there was no shower curtain. The front desk staff laughed at that. Then I saw actual mold on the wall above the toilet. Their response? We might be able to credit you some points. I said I don’t want points, I book through Expedia. Their resolution? No apology. The credited points.

After waking up from our first night we noticed a lot of ants on the tile floor. The housekeeper was in the hallway and we showed it to her. She said that she would spray and get rid of them. Upon our return that evening the ants were still there! We called the night desk clerk and she came up (2nd floor]. She immediately put us in a different room on the same floor. We woke up the next morning and our nightstand and the bathroom floor had alot of ants! I took pictures before leaving the room and upon our checkout we showed and discussed it with the day front desk clerk. She had no answers nor was willing to offer any compensation. The GM called me the following day. She was sincere and arranged for compensation. I wonder is this an ongoing problem at this hotel? The breakfast was very good by the way.

Family of 5 staying in a double room. We had plenty of space for us all and our things. Comfortable beds and pillows. The pool is closed- we were not affected by this during this stay but with three kids to entertain sometimes that makes or breaks our hotel choice. We would definitely stay again!

Check in was great. Front desk attendant was very helpful. Hotel is in a good quiet location. Room was ok. Nothing extravagant, the furniture was worn, some tiles on the floor were broken, draperies were lacking, but it was fairly clean and the pillows were comfortable. Really not worth the money we paid though.

The room was amazing. It had an awesome layout and everything was looked spotless. The bed was super comfortable and allowed to get some really great sleep. If I am ever back this way, I will definitely stay here again.

Check in was great. Staff very friendly. Room was clean, but shower could use some TLC. It is starting to show its age. No water pressure to speak of in the shower. Front desk said they would have maintenance look at it, but we had to leave before it had been done. We would stay here again. Not going to leave a bad review based on shower. Things need to be worked on from time to time.

Pool was so cold. Was told that the heat gets shut off by corporate at a certain date. Then was told that was not true. Either way we were stuck with it. They were out of tea for entire 5 days of our visit. We had to go purchase our own. There wasn’t any ventilation in our bathroom and told that there were only a few rooms where it did work. They said the hotel was getting a renovation this winter. The people taking care of breakfast were very king as well as woman that cleaned our room. Our bathroom door didn’t shut and piece on the bottom of refrigerator fell off. Dresser drawers also didn’t shut. They would open when you walked around the room.

After waking up from our first night we noticed a lot of ants on the tile floor. The housekeeper was in the hallway and we showed it to her. She said that she would spray and get rid of them. Upon our return that evening the ants were still there! We called the night desk clerk and she came up (2nd floor]. She immediately put us in a different room on the same floor. We woke up the next morning and our nightstand and the bathroom floor had alot of ants! I took pictures before leaving the room and upon our checkout we showed and discussed it with the day front desk clerk. She had no answers nor was willing to offer any compensation. The GM called me the following day. She was sincere and arranged for compensation. I wonder is this an ongoing problem at this hotel? The breakfast was very good by the way.

Didn't eat breakfast, as there was a soccer tournament and the lobby was full. I didn't try the gym. I visited cause my sister passed away and I was there for her funeral. I will definetly stay there again when I am in Muscatine again. The only thing I didn't like was the elevator was scary. It made a weird sound when going up/down. Otherwise the hotel was clean, beautiful room. The bed was a little hard but wasn't terrible. Check in was easy, the front desk employee was very nice and sympathetic. Her kindness is what makes me want to come stay there when I come back into town. Housekeepers do a wonderful job of making sure the room is clean, I didn't see one speck of dust.

Check in was great. Front desk attendant was very helpful. Hotel is in a good quiet location. Room was ok. Nothing extravagant, the furniture was worn, some tiles on the floor were broken, draperies were lacking, but it was fairly clean and the pillows were comfortable. Really not worth the money we paid though.

The hotel is located in a safe area. The hotel condition is definitely showing its age, as it needs an update. The landscaping and lawn maintenance seems in need of attention. We would stay here again, due to ease and accessibility, but recommend the owner/management address some of the aforementioned.

This Hampton Inn is in a good location, off highway 61 near grocery stores, fast food restaurants and other shops. The front desk workers were friendly. The breakfast and the fitness room were consistent with other Hampton Inns. The hotel was clean but it was definitely dated. Also, there was poor lighting in the parking lot and our room was cool (it was cold outside when we were there). Overall, not fancy but decent.

We were greeted by a very friendly desk agent. We then entered our room to find it squeaking clean. The only drawback was that the breakfast was awful. But we weren’t there for breakfast. Highly recommended.

Pool was so cold. Was told that the heat gets shut off by corporate at a certain date. Then was told that was not true. Either way we were stuck with it. They were out of tea for entire 5 days of our visit. We had to go purchase our own. There wasn’t any ventilation in our bathroom and told that there were only a few rooms where it did work. They said the hotel was getting a renovation this winter. The people taking care of breakfast were very king as well as woman that cleaned our room. Our bathroom door didn’t shut and piece on the bottom of refrigerator fell off. Dresser drawers also didn’t shut. They would open when you walked around the room.

Staff is amazing and room was ok overall. Staff alone wanted me to give it a 5 out of 5, but I have to ding them on the room. It was clean and comfortable overall, but the furniture is dated and the couch in our suite is old and had what appeared to be grease stains from someone’s head. We are not very picky people, but felt the need to put a spare sheet in the couch. Some might have let that destroy the rating they gave this hotel, but as I said, the staff more than made up for it, and at the end of the day, the room was clean overall. I would suggest this hotel, but recommend they look at some updates. Also, breakfast was very good, many options and again, VERY friendly staff at breakfast.

Room were decent for one night stay. Room are a little out dated compared to other hotel room. Also breakfast was not the best. Found mold on the wheat and white bread. Not all bad at this location but some work is needed.

The room itself was pleasant enough. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was good enough and had a decent amount of variety. The hotel itself wasn't the cleanest hotel at which I've stayed (the fitness center didn't have any clean-off spray and the water dispenser didn't have any cups, my bathroom shower had a few spots, etc.). The front desk clerk informed me they had to wait until THE MIDDLE OF JANUARY to turn the heat on in the public areas, which I found very odd for a hotel in Iowa. But overall, I had a nice stay.

Would not recommend. Upon arriving around midnight, we discovered the pool was closed and the hotel was undergoing renovations—neither of which was disclosed before our stay. The hallways were dusty, our room smelled strongly of fresh paint, and the overall experience was far from what was advertised. The most concerning issue was being assigned a room that was already occupied. After traveling all day, opening a room door to find someone else inside is an unacceptable safety and security failure. It also left our children feeling unsafe for the remainder of our stay. When these concerns were brought to the front desk, the response was dismissive. Management offered a small discount, but it did little to address the multiple issues we encountered. A hotel can survive renovations. It cannot survive poor communication and basic failures in guest safety. Had we been informed of the renovations, closed amenities, and conditions beforehand, we would have booked elsewhere.

At a hotel, you shouldn't have a sign on the front desk that states "I'm away from the desk". The hotel looks as if it's going through some renovations but next time, I'll spend a little more and stay at the Merrill downtown Muscatine. Not impressed at all. Okay to sleep at but that's it.
