It was great until we found out there was no elevators or escalators during our stay the only elevator that worked was to our room. I have had two knee replacements and it was not fun.

When we were there the elevators from parking garage did not work. No valet parking at all. Main restaurant was not open. No one taking our drink order while we played machines. Only one server and nobody at the bars. The rooms are ok no coffee pots and nothing fancy. Disappointed for sure as it was our first time there.

The room was extremely small and DIRTY. We’ve stayed here many years & it has steadily declined. The elevators are a pain to get up to the rooms. And most especially when they aren’t working, which is what happened when we were there. Had to be taken on the employee freight elevator to get up to the rooms. We will not be staying here ever again.

Parking was not convenient and hard to find .Room was clean and staff didn't bother you but was helpful if needed .drinks were free.there was no pool so that is why I give it three stars it's an older casino.

My favorite part was the casino. And mid week during the summer, the casino is empty. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They did want all of the IDs for the people staying in the hotel — I thought that was intrusive and uncalled for. The parking situation here is a disaster. If you park to register, you then have to go a half mile to park behind the building — way to go architectural engineer!! It’s a nice property. The room was wonderful. We won some money. I would stay again.

well orientation was the only set back to the stay. We kind of were lost when using the elevators. It might be nice to orient people about the difference between the parking garage elevators and the hotel elevators. The place was clean though. Good job!

Grand Z has an excellent room rate and is the best discounted room for people that don't use comps. Very clean through n through. The beds are very clean and very comfortable. The room was spotless and the bathroom was clean with zero complaints. A lot of lighting if you need it in the room. Grand Z hotel is affordable and its an easy check-in & check out process.

If the room is old, at least it should be clean. My husband and I stayed here for our 31st wedding anniversary and immediately upon getting into our room, I wanted to check out. There were mystery stains on 2 walls, dust in the bathroom around the toilet and stains on the bedskirt. We reserved a deluxe king room, and I was VERY, VERY disappointed. We’ve had a better stay at a Holiday Inn Express. The bed tables were damaged like someone was chewing on them. The lighting was dim, the shower glass was cloudy and water stained. I didn’t sleep at all. The time was enjoyable only because of being with my husband. Again, if the rooms are old, the least they could be is clean!

It was ok. The carpet had white stuff all over it.. maybe like carpet fresh that never got vacuumed up? Needless to say...it looked like it hadn't been vacuumed for awhile:( Fire alarm (not hotels fault) went off at 4am, scaring the heck outta us, because someone was vaping in their room. Housekeeping started knocking on door at 915am, check out isn't until 12 but we didn't hang our do not disturb sign because we didn't have one. Housekeeping must have gotten in room next door because the door kept opening and slamming.. very loud cleaning. So.... needless to say we didn't sleep well:( positives: bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows, bathroom clean and the free shuttle is great:)

Property is shoehorned into a tight space so certainly a custom building. Nice. This does however make it complicated to get to your room. The room did not have an in room coffee maker or microwave. These are standard room amenities in any super 8 or other budget lodging. Not a good look for a \'\'resort\'\' that charges a $25 "resort fee". I won\'t return here.

Management decided to not put coffee pots it microwaves in rooms. Had to get dressed and go down to lower floor to get morning coffee. We always bring our own and sadly no microwave to heat the water. Will not be back.

Not a bad place to stay if you plan on spending most of your time on the casino floors. Guest room floors were quiet. Mini fridge was extremely loud and sounded like it was going to explode. In room AC unit was extremely loud as well. No matter how many times you would turn the thermostat completely off with it a few minutes it was right back on and sounded like a helicopter was taking off.

The room's thermostat didn't work. There was only one mirror in the room. It was above the bathroom sink and so high up that I could only see the top of my head in it. There was only a door separating my room from the next, and it was so thin that I could hear every sound next door and it kept me awake.

Front desk gentleman that checked us in was not friendly or helpful at all. He could have done better, I didn't understand a question he asked me about who was all staying in the room with me and he was very rude when I didn't understand what he was asking me. He stated to me is the answer yes or no so we can move on with check in. Then he just gave us our keys and didn't explain how to get to our rooms. We seemed like an inconvenience to him. He needs to be reminded that he is the face of your hotel and the first experience all customers have! Otherwise, the rest of the stay was great.

We always enjoy staying at the Grand Z Hotel. The staff is friendly, and the rooms are very comfortable. We love that there is a mini-fridge in the room. This time, the staff went above and beyond their normal duties. We left my husband's hearing aides in the room, and the cleaning staff turned them in to security. We were able to send a friend up to the hotel to retrieve them. Great to know that they have honest staff members! Will definitely stay here again! A big THANKS to all employees that helped us get the hearing aides!!!

The man at the front desk clearly hates his job. He was very rude and unprofessional. Room was very dirty, comforter had stains. If it wasn't for the man at the front desk and the dirty room I would've gave a much higher rating. The woman at the front desk was very professional and knew how to greet and do her job well.

Very nice and clean hotel. The employees are friendly and professional. The room was spacious and clean. The king size bed was nice, and an adjustable thermostat that you can set to your liking. Which came in handy as it snowed during our stay. Would definitely stay here again.

My stay at Grand Z was all positive. Mary Kay at check-in was quick and thorough. The room felt new and was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of strong hot water. The Grill restaurant served delicious comfort food in generous portions at great prices. The casino was clean. The surrounding area felt safe and is walkable. I would stay here again.

This hotel served my purpose well as it is a short walk to the opera house which was my destination for this visit. It is fairly standard but perfectly adequate. It seems to be clean and has everything I need. My room was ready, and the check-in process was straightforward. I had dinner in one of the restaurants, and it was excellent. A really fine steak. Service was good. There is a Starbuck's where I will be getting coffee shortly and another restaurant that serves a cooked to order breakfast. I am not a casino person, so I cannot attest to that aspect of the facility. Not new but pretty well maintained. Covered parking garage no additional charge. Some mentioned it was hard to find. I did not find that so. I also had no trouble following the signs to check-in.

It was unique how the property was on the side of a hill. It is tucked in about a 5-10 minute walk away from Central City attractions (casinos, restaurants) and a short (5ish minute drive) away from attractions in Black Hawk. We didn't use the bus service, but that is something that's available if you're wanting to go from casino to casino from central city to black hawk.

My favorite part was the casino. And mid week during the summer, the casino is empty. The staff was super friendly and helpful. They did want all of the IDs for the people staying in the hotel — I thought that was intrusive and uncalled for. The parking situation here is a disaster. If you park to register, you then have to go a half mile to park behind the building — way to go architectural engineer!! It’s a nice property. The room was wonderful. We won some money. I would stay again.

My stay at Grand Z was all positive. Mary Kay at check-in was quick and thorough. The room felt new and was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had plenty of strong hot water. The Grill restaurant served delicious comfort food in generous portions at great prices. The casino was clean. The surrounding area felt safe and is walkable. I would stay here again.

Nice and clean and safe. Although we didn't bring our dog, I like that they had a Dog Park in the hotel for those who did bring their dogs. The only issue we had was when we went to The Grill for breakfast, there was only one person working who was seating the customers and taking their orders. After waiting in line for about 30 minutes (we were the only ones in line), we went elsewhere for breakfast.

When we were there the elevators from parking garage did not work. No valet parking at all. Main restaurant was not open. No one taking our drink order while we played machines. Only one server and nobody at the bars. The rooms are ok no coffee pots and nothing fancy. Disappointed for sure as it was our first time there.

The room needs maintenance, seems neglected! No coffee in the room!!! Bed was comfortable. The restaurant for breakfast was aweful. One person working, cold food, he was running as fast as he could but long waits for everything...including coffee!

Really lousy dining in The Grill. Bad service is subjective but our dinner waiter set new standards. Took our order (wrong) then disappeared. Finally took our cash and made the wrong change.

Room was sufficient in every way according to the price paid. Beware of the $25 “Service Fee” per night which is not disclosed until check-in. So effectively your going to pay $25 more than what you buy online. Nothing appeared open in the AM if you’re an early riser, so if you like coffee in the AM…Nada.

The casino part if fine, always clean. The rooms however are terrible. Hair in the tub/shower, the shower curtains are dirty on the bottom, the refrigerator in our room was so loud, we had to unplug it. No microwave, even though there is a place for it. The chair in the room is worn and the leather is coming off the arms and back of the chair. Looks terrible. We have stayed at this place 5 times, and it's going downhill even more everytime we stay.
