Amazing inn to stay at during our fall trip! Very cozy & comfortable!! Enjoyed the hot tub too

All was wonderful except EV chargers not functional with no near term plan

The Inn itself is lovely, but the parking was difficult if you were out for the day and came back too late. People not staying at the inn drove and parked there to dine at its restaurant/bar.

I had stayed as a getaway from the city for my Birthday. It was the perfect place to be. The pool and hottub as well as the whirlpool within the hotel room were amazing. We loved the layout of the hotel. The gym is small but has a treadmill, elliptical and a few weights with a bench. The hotel is well-maintained and very clean. I can not speak of the attached restaurant since we had not tried it. The surrounding city is a cute little town in walkable distance.

We liked hotel but were disappointed that pool was not available to use.

Loved the cleanliness of the property and friendliness of the staff. However, getting hit with a "restoration fee" upon sign in was a bit annoying since Expedia does not mention this in thier pricing. Beds were comfortable but the lack of a refrigerator in the room in this day and age is a negative. There was also an issue with our bathtub being spongy when standing , it felt unstable. Other than that, we had a very enjoyable stay. Food was excellent and the pool and hot tub area was very clean. I would stay here again.

I had a great stay here! It's an old historic building near Luray Caverns and Shenandoah, and I enjoyed the pool and hot tub the night I arrived, and the room was very comfortable.

I travel a lot & value a hotel that’s both comfortable & different. This hotel is fantastic! It is a gem. They have cottages, hotel rooms, and houses. There is a salt water & fresh water pool. Spa. Hot tub. Restaurant onsite. Beautiful front porch where you can sit & relax. Right off the Shenandoah parkway. Skip the track hotels in Front Royal & stay here instead.

Beautiful property with tons to do! 3 night stay. Quick drive to get to Shanendoah Nat'l Park. Blue Ridge Suite. Large room. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Bathrobes provided. Good water pressure in shower. No fridge in room. With the early morning light, could've used some blackout shades. Expansive grounds with 2 pools, hot tub, and loads of outdoor games to play. Nice seating area out front with rocking chairs. The Speakeasy restaurant onsite was great! Did not use fitness area, but looked like it had a few machines and some weights. Friendly staff and would stay here again if back to this area!!

Beautiful place to stay. Enormous room. Lovely salt water pool. Helpful staff. We are at the Speakeasy and it was tasty and easy.

While the hotel is historic and lovely, We were disappointed in the condition of the room. "Luxurious accommodations" Would not be the phrase I would use to describe our room. One of the walls had signs of water leakage with huge bubbling under the paint. The bathroom was so small that the toilet touched the bathtub and there was no counter in the bathroom for toiletries. The bathroom had not been cleaned properly in quite some time as the shower was dirty and mold was growing in the tile grout and the floor was dirty.

Clean and quaint.

Staff and service were fine along with the outside property. Had problems with the room. Black chunks of debris were located on the bed, end table, phone and lamp. Black chunks were coming from the air conditioner vents which needs to be cleaned. Wife cleaned this mess up. It gets worse. Located an unknown insect crawling on the bed pillow. Had to relocate into another room at approximately 10:00pm. Didn't locate any inspects in the new room but the vents for air conditioner need to be cleaned out. Black chunks still lodged in the air conditioner vents.

What a beautiful and unique hotel. My husband and I decided to go to the Luray Caverns, and selected this hotel since it was close to the Caverns. It was nice to go to a hotel where they have a door person to get the door each time you walked out. Breakfast in Circa 31 was nice. Nice wait staff. The front desk clerks were pleasant. The only downside to the hotel was that our room (room 217) smelled of musty body odor. Because this was the first time in this hotel, I wasn’t sure if the other rooms had the same issue. I had fabric spray with me to cover some of the smell. I believe the chair and ottoman by the window were the culprits to the stench. Other than that, it was a nice stay.

Overpriced, room had ants, shower nozzle had hard water pressure which hurt the skin. Restaurant server not kind. Disappointed.

Wifi in the room was weak and faded in and out. Pretty much useless. I also noticed it was slow in the lobby as well. Carpets everywhere need a good cleaning. Furniture in room was tired and worn but 5 stars for cleanliness. Staff was amazing - friendly and helpful. Dining area was perfect. Food was excellent.

Very clean, staff friendly, room large, very nice

The Mimslyn is beautiful. Loved everything but the room. It was clean & pretty but so small. Only one upholstered chair for only one of us to sit.

The only thing that my wife and I had a hated time with was the heater/cooling. The fan kicked on and off about every minute making it hard for us to sleep. It was quite noisy. Everything else was great.

Beautiful area and amazing hotel for the historic aspect - rooms were small but they fit the era.

We booked a suite for 4 adults and 1 small child. The pull out sofa bed was about as old as the hotel. The room was much smaller than the internet pictures made it look. In the pictures, there appears to be a large dining table. This table is in a common area outside of room. The staff was great and the food was excellent. We were very disappointed in the size of the room and cleanliness of the sitting area furniture.

As a historic hotel, it was only the outside appearance that felt historic. The rooms are small. The TV is barely large enough within the cabinet and the picture does not even fill the screen. When we asked that someone try to fix that issue, nothing changed. For the price, breakfast was not included. There are other hotel options in the area for far less, and include breakfast, and I would opt to use one of them in the future.

We liked the people. We enjoyed dinner 2 nights at the bar downstairs. The rooms were very spacious. I loved the artificially lit fireplace, but only one side worked. Our biggest complaint was the terrible mattress! It was too soft with significant dips. We had to put towels underneath the mattress cover to add back support , Sadly, because of this we will not return.

Easy check-in, restaurant on premises, comfortable bed, nice pool and hot tub, very quiet. Room was small but well appointed. Bath was small but adequate. No refrigerator or microwave available.

Excellent stay and amazing staff. They were experiencing a power outage from all the storms and provided excellent service. It was a beautiful and classy stay. I would recommend it.

Property was beautiful! However, I wasn’t happy at all with the staff. My husband and I walked in around 3:20pm and the front desk lady said the room would be available soon (guaranteed at 4pm). We waited for half an hour and then another family came in, she checked them in and gave them a key right away. I specifically saw they got the same type of room as us. Then she called me to say my room is ready, when I approached to get the key she said oh no wait I need to check if it’s clean. Room looked nice and clean, but the king size bed sheets looked definitely used (all wrinkled up).

Quiet, clean, excellent staff.

I was only there for one night, but the hotel and staff were great. Speakeasy bar and restaurant was great as was the food and service. I was there on a Wednesday Night when they had $5 glasses of wine which made my one night stay even better. Would definitely it’s Y stay there again. Don Schroeder

Inconsiderate people next door, asked for another room and was immediately taken care of with a new room

The major reason that I am giving this hotel a very high rating is due to its customer service. The first night of our stay there was construction going on on a dining room just under our room. The crew worked into the evening, past 8:00 and we could hear the noise. In the morning a staff member asked how our night was, we mentioned the noise. They apologized and stated that was not supposed to happen, said they would make sure it didn't happen again, and immediately moved us to another room away from the construction site. It was a much better room but we were not charge any difference in price. We stayed in this room for the rest of our stay. I appreciate the response from management. The facilities themselves are very nice, with additional factors, such as large sitting rooms that made our stay very enjoyable.

The staff was totally inattentive. The front desk person was not friendly nor inviting. Our room was clean; however, was not as advertised. We were in the Blue Rodge suite and had a three foot pillar in the middle of the room, one sink not two; there was no soap nor shower gel. I called the front desk but it went to voicemail. I walked down and the attendant told me she forgot to leave the phones on. She then said they had no soap, and she went to an empty room to secure one bar. We ate downstairs at the Speak Easy. The server was friendly but the food order (hamburger) was not right.

Let\'s start with check in. I was immediately greeted with a "historic preservation fee" that according to the clerk could only be paid via card, no cash accepted for this fee... I have stayed at numerous other hotels over the years, and a cash security deposit was always acceptable, so this is either a lie on the clerk\'s part, or just a terrible business practice by this hotel. Not everybody carries cards with them, and every other hotel I\'ve used in the past understands this, except this place. Point is, there was no mention of a "historic preservation fee" which could\'ve sank the entire stay and trip had it not been for my girlfriend having her card on her. This is a 200 mile drive for us, and these dodgy business practices are completely unacceptable when hotels know full well that people will be traveling long distances to stay at their facility. Onto the room... We were greeted with a moldy odor, because the bathroom had mold growing on the inoperative bathroom exhaust fan and other parts of the ceiling, mainly the corners, which appeared to have been freshly painted to mask what I\'m certain was the previous crop of mold. Going into the living quarters, we found obviously unvacuumed carpets complete with embedded fuzzy messes and lifesaver candy wrappers. The curtains in the window had huge tears running from top to bottom in few places, not a huge deal, but for an alleged 3 star luxury hotel, this is not at all luxurious. Beautiful historic Inn close to the entrance to the Skyline Drive. Quiet, comfortable rooms and both restaurants were very good.

It's a historic hotel in the heart of Luray, sits on top of a hill which was quite charming. Very close to local attractions, Shenandoah national park is a easy 30 min drive. Hotel has its own speak easy style restaurant, which we found perfect for dinner. Lastly, for a historic property it is actually handicap accessible which I found very useful.

We enjoyed the bar and restaurant. Service was excellent! Room and bath were very small. Hotel was very conveniently located for Caverns and Shenandoah National Park!

Beautiful Inn with a wonderful view from the front porch in the evening. Good proximity to Luray Cavern and other local sites. Staff in restaurant was great. We would definitely stay here again

This was our second time staying at the Mimslyn. It is a beautiful hotel with lots of history. Setting is amazing at the top of the hill overlooking the town. The suites are large and comfortable and the wine selection available in the lobby is nice. Will stay here again.

Excellent location for Mountain View. Luray Caverns just across rt. 211 from hotel. Take your time in area and relax then a hotel. If family stay at cottage on property.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel itself has character and history, and we enjoyed a lovely meal at Circa '31.

Convenient location for visiting the Shenandoah National Park. Enjoyed the SpeakEasy for good food, drinks and friendly staff. Breakfast at the Circa was also good.

On the us side, the building is beautiful with amazing views. Location is convenient to many activities in the area. The room was clean. On the not so great aspect... the breakfast is pitiful. Same not so great quiche 3 days in a row and it was barely warm one time. They really need to improve that. The room service did not replace the shampoo or even soap! They 're lacking in all the little things that makes you want to go back to a place...

The staff is friendly and provides great recommendations, especially Fred. The hotel is from 1931, and it is like stepping back in time. It has modern bathrooms. The beautiful front porch and lobby living room is a social gathering spot. You meet nice people. Dinner at Speakeasy was awesome. Easy drive to Skyline Drive.

Stay away from The Speakeasy. Food is horrible. Worst Fish and Chips I ever had…straight from the freezer box to the plate.

The breakfast is very limited, out of your imagination! we stayed for 3 nights, all the three mornings, they served the exactly same breakfast, some egg and cheese mixture baked with a very small amount of fruit on the side, that's it! no other options.

This hotel is lovely. The restaurant at this property is amazing. The night we were there there was live music and it was just wonderful. It is also super quiet. They have rocking chairs on the porch with a view of the mountain.
