Beautiful place situated in a wonderful area with a large Beach. Great for small rock hunting. The only issue we had was the restaurant area was severely understaffed. I felt bad for our waiter! As he was seating people bartending serving food clearing tables. And this was for a 6:00 p.m. reservation.

I will start with the good. The restaurant is updates. Comfortable atmosphere, excellent food and service. The prices are fair. The beach was nice, the comfortable seating around staff started fires was very relaxing and enjoyable. The needs improvement os beyond "Tired" it needs a vaccume. The first thing I notice at this property is the entry, the lobby and hallways need vacuuming. The halls are very dark and look Gothic. This, under good management should easily be noticed and addressed. Our room.. one bed was on the high side... its springs were worn. One shift of you or your partner, you're awake. The other was acceptable. It is very dark with poor lighting. The walls are pained dark green, the furniture is very dark. The vanity area is very small with poor lighting. You can see the areas that are not dusted. Our room view was the outdoor pool. The patio around it has weeds coming up the cracks. The little decrepit bridge is unsafe. There is a sign that says "New owners, new energy" This is a beautiful location and could be an amazing property. Until the change and energy is finalized, we won't be back.

Would highly recommend, quiet with great beach access. Our room was lake side, woke up to a beautiful sunrise. Restaurant and bar were very nice, staff helpful and friendly. The gooseberry margarita was wonderful, great food options!

The facility was terrible! The staff was wonderful, understanding, and gave us a full refund. I’m only writing this review because the new owners need to kick their plans into high gear. This hotel was probably amazing 30 years ago, but the maintenance has been neglected as evidenced right away with the sign from the road. From the outside there’s visible damage, from the room the below roofs and equipment are sagging and struggling. The windows were damp on the inside, there was a serious draft, the room smelled of mold and 30 years of cigarette smoke despite the no smoking sign, the bathroom had peoples names carved into the wood, and there were dogs in a no dog area in the hotel rooms. The restaurant clearly was the new owners main focus of restoration as it was beautiful, but had approximately 25-30 tables to seat an entire hotel! I was told reservations are OPTIONAL, but they are booked out MONTHS in advance. The staff took care of us and we did get a full refund, but we will never take a chance on Superior Shores Resort again.
