Liked the quaintness of it and the downstairs bourbon bar is cozy and charming. The room was a little musty and carpet could stand to be cleaned. And the landscaping was once I'm sure lovely but now needs attention. Be aware there are stairs in the property to get to your room, so getting luggage up the stairs can be a challenge. Breakfast selection was small but nicely done.

Quaint inn in a great town. Room had a funny smell (sort of musty or covered up with some scent?) and the bathroom was dated but functional, in keeping with this type of property. Pillows were unusually high and firm. Breakfast was sensational (awesome chef) and the people were very friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant and bourbon bar were closed the night we were there (open Wed to Sat I believe).

Historic charm and great location to visit the old downtown Fredericksburg. The highlight was the Bourbon Bar. In our 3 night stay, we decided we didn't need the room services as we didn't use the towels. We put out the "clean my room" tag the other two nights and never got the room clean and used the same towels for 3 days. The ash tray outside was loaded with cigar/cigarette buds and should be cleaned daily. Great charm but really horrible bathroom. Charm is one thing worn out is another. THe restaurant was good, not great.

Enjoyable place. Roomy. Friendly ladies. Room was fine and glad bathroom in the room. Good WIFI and AC. Plenty of bottled water. Bfast delicious. Comfy lounge. Bummer on constant traffic in front yard kinda noisy. Nice porch tho. Nifty basement bar and grill.

The Kenmore Inn is a beautiful bed and breakfast in the downtown historic district of Fredericksburg. Suzanne was a wonderful host. No pressure. Felt like home but back in time. Self parking right across the street and museums and great restaurants within walking distance. Room was beautiful. An absolute must for Revolutionary/Civil War history lovers and very romantic place for couples. Plan to return and spend more time in town. I travel extensively and highly recommend!

Our stay at Ironclad was great! From our first interaction in the Inn to our last everything exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and private. The Inn is really somewhere between a B&B and a hotel. The bourbon room downstairs is such a wonderful time and the cocktails are fantastic. The breakfast is also delicious and the service far exceeded a standard B&B breakfast. We loved our short stay here and will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at the Ironclad Inn! Check in was super easy and we were warmly greeted by one of the innkeepers. The location was perfect and so convenient to walk to shops and restaurants downtown. The Bourbon Room is right downstairs and a great spot to grab a drink or a bite to eat

The Kenmore Inn is absolutely lovely. It was fresh and clean and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond for me when they learned I would be leaving prior to the start of breakfast service--fixing a "to-go" breakfast for me. The room was nice, bed comfortable. The bathroom is quite tiny, as is to be expected from a property this old. The only issue I had at all was that the water pressure in the shower was so hard it made taking a shower unpleasant. I adjusted the knobs to try to lower the pressure without cutting off the water stream but couldn\'t find a good balance. Again, I didn\'t expect modern plumbing in a historic property, but this water pressure was really hard. Regardless, I would absolutely stay again!

Excellent accommodations. Superb in town location. Everything you wanted was within a short stroll. Clean top to bottom. Comfortable beds, pleasant staff and a great breakfast. The room was on the small size but the common area was very nice. The only downside was that the lighting was very dim.

Absolutely loved our stay—such Old World charm and cozy atmosphere! The room had so much character, and little touches like the mints and the plentiful bottled water made it feel welcoming and thoughtful. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the towels and washcloths were thick and luxurious—such a treat! The breakfast was truly AMAZING—delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. It really set the tone for the day and was a highlight of our visit. There are just a few small suggestions that could make this gem even better: – The room to the right when you first walk in had a few cobwebs in the window—nothing major, but a quick tidy-up would make it feel even more polished. – The room and bathroom are on the smaller side, but still very charming. The vintage-style light fixture in the bathroom is lovely, though a brighter bulb would be helpful for makeup application. – It would also be great to have a shelf or a small table in the bathroom for toiletries and a place to put clean clothes when showering. – A towel rack outside the tub would be handy, and the water pressure could be a little stronger. This beautiful and comfortable bed and breakfast is just a block or two from the Old Town part of Fredericksburg and its many fun restaurants and pubs. Very clean and lovely house, offering a variety of choices for breakfast which was really nice. The Kenmore Inn is about to be renamed the Ironclad so if you see this listed in the future, it is the same place.

My husband and I were travelling south from Ontario, Canada and were looking for a place to stay mid-point. We selected this property for the walkable location and the safety of the area. This property is beautiful and well cared for. Our bed was very comfortable, the linens were soft and the room was clean and welcoming. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Great room, clean, comfy, and quiet. The comforter on the bed was very comfortable. Fresh fruits provided 24 hr, delicious breakfast. Clear check in instructions. All good.

Pros: Conveniently located. The bed was very comfortable. Staff were attentive. Cons: Bathroom dated. Internet connection kept buffering due to a weak signal with the modem. Final thought: Despite the cons I would definitely stay here again when in town.

The Kenmore Inn is absolutely lovely. It was fresh and clean and comfortable. The staff went above and beyond for me when they learned I would be leaving prior to the start of breakfast service--fixing a "to-go" breakfast for me. The room was nice, bed comfortable. The bathroom is quite tiny, as is to be expected from a property this old. The only issue I had at all was that the water pressure in the shower was so hard it made taking a shower unpleasant. I adjusted the knobs to try to lower the pressure without cutting off the water stream but couldn\'t find a good balance. Again, I didn\'t expect modern plumbing in a historic property, but this water pressure was really hard. Regardless, I would absolutely stay again!

Returned to Fredericksburg for a 1 night stay. Susan, the GM, was fabulous, from the instructions to check in after hours to the service provided during the stay. Even though I grew up here, I would definitely return to the Kenmore Inn! Thanks.

We traveled by train. Short walk to Kenmore Inn. Lots of places to shop. We like the many antique stores. We arrived early. We were greeted by the Innkeeper, Susan allowed us to check in early. Our room was beautiful and perfectly clean. Great choices on breakfast menu. Our meals were prepared by order and were delicious. Rave reviews! Susan was very gracious. The house keeper too.

Our stay at Ironclad was great! From our first interaction in the Inn to our last everything exceeded our expectations. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious and private. The Inn is really somewhere between a B&B and a hotel. The bourbon room downstairs is such a wonderful time and the cocktails are fantastic. The breakfast is also delicious and the service far exceeded a standard B&B breakfast. We loved our short stay here and will be back.

I highly recommend a stay here. It’s a beautiful historic house with a friendly staff. I was able to park my car for 3 days and walk to museums and restaurants in the city. Fredericksburg has a lot to offer.

Perfect location. We parked our car on the street and were able to walk to wonderful restaurants each night. but the real differentiating factor was Susan the manager. Her friendly manner made us feel immediately at home. She even anticipated our need for things like a fresh ice bucket. I would not stay any place else in Fredericksburg.

This is a lovely inn, perfectly located in the historic district near some great restaurants. I was at a convention where there were many big hotels within walking distance of the meeting, but only 3 miles away was this little gem. We had a perfect win room with comfortable beds and a real sense of history. Hot breakfast was included and was delicious. The Susans made our late arrival easy, and were so responsive to my questions about parking.

Quaint inn in a great town. Room had a funny smell (sort of musty or covered up with some scent?) and the bathroom was dated but functional, in keeping with this type of property. Pillows were unusually high and firm. Breakfast was sensational (awesome chef) and the people were very friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant and bourbon bar were closed the night we were there (open Wed to Sat I believe).

Absolutely loved our stay—such Old World charm and cozy atmosphere! The room had so much character, and little touches like the mints and the plentiful bottled water made it feel welcoming and thoughtful. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the towels and washcloths were thick and luxurious—such a treat! The breakfast was truly AMAZING—delicious, plentiful, and beautifully presented. It really set the tone for the day and was a highlight of our visit. There are just a few small suggestions that could make this gem even better: – The room to the right when you first walk in had a few cobwebs in the window—nothing major, but a quick tidy-up would make it feel even more polished. – The room and bathroom are on the smaller side, but still very charming. The vintage-style light fixture in the bathroom is lovely, though a brighter bulb would be helpful for makeup application. – It would also be great to have a shelf or a small table in the bathroom for toiletries and a place to put clean clothes when showering. – A towel rack outside the tub would be handy, and the water pressure could be a little stronger. The Bourbon Tasting room downstairs was fabulous! Would highly recommend for drinks, food, service & atmosphere. Fantastic! Overall, it was a delightful stay and we’d absolutely return!

Enjoyable place. Roomy. Friendly ladies. Room was fine and glad bathroom in the room. Good WIFI and AC. Plenty of bottled water. Bfast delicious. Comfy lounge. Bummer on constant traffic in front yard kinda noisy. Nice porch tho. Nifty basement bar and grill.

My favorite place to stay ever!! The staff is wonderful!! The breakfast made to order ( included) is excellent and the ironclad Bourbon bar downstairs is so much fun and the food is awesome!! This late 1700’s B&B is the best!! ❤️

A beautiful inn with very friendly staff. Breakfast was amazing! Unfortunately we didn’t get down to the Bourbon Room in the evening, but looked around during the morning. Looks like a great place to grab a drink and socialize.

This Bed and Breakfast was beautiful, inside and out. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. When we checked in we went to their little restaurant and the service was incredible. We found out they were having a live band there that evening, and the band was incredible! We will definitely stay again as soon as we can.
