The guy at the front desk was very friendly and knowledgeable. However the rooms are dated and paint chipping. You can see where they tried to repaint and just dropped some on the floor. Looked like mold on the shower ceiling. Floors were kind of dirty. Bathroom knob was falling off and the door was a pain to open and close. Pillow had stains. We saw a pool outside but nothing was open. No ice in the ice machine.

We appreciated the extras, such as both caffeinated and decaffeinated coffee packets, a coffee maker, a refrigerator, and a microwave. The pets-stay-free policy also remains a primary draw for us.

Overall we enjoyed our stay here.. The website said they had a pool and their hours open however the pool has not worked or been open since COVID. Ice machine wasn't working, people would let their dog s*** and not clean it up. Besides that the rooms were very clean and staff were awesome and friendly. Would book again there

Spacious room except for bathroom area. Toilet didn't work properly. The shower was in ok condition but would not turn off when nob was pushed in. We booked the room also for pool access and it was closed. Staff was nice.

I would not recommend staying at this property. While it is quite convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, and not too expensive, I found some surfaces in my room not clean, the bathroom moldy in the shower, and the toilet unstable. The biggest issue, however, was that despite being a non-smoking property, my room clearly had been smoked in. I was able to change rooms, which was a nuisance having pets with me. I was told I was given a credit for the smoking issue, but none appeared. Not my best hotel experience.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for 2 nights for a weekend getaway to go to Christmas town ….the room was huge …very clean and smelled very clean as soon as we walked in. Was perfect on a budget and would definitely stay here again!

Staff were nice and courteous. The showers need much needed work. Shower curtain had ALOT of mold on it but once I sprayed Tilex mold and mildew on it that took care of the problem. Comfortable beds and the rest of the room was very clean.

The gentleman who checked us in was friendly, and gave us extra towels when we asked. That's where the good ends. When we got to our room it smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. 2 of the chairs were torn up, almost like a cat got to it. Behind/beside the microwave was dusty and a used napkin had been left behind the microwave. The motel is pet friendly, and there were several dogs. Dogs that we heard barking at all hours of the night. One would start, and the others would chime in. Out of curiosity, we pulled the filters out of the AC unit and they were caked with dirt. We washed them in the bathtub, which was probably the first time they had been cleaned. We tried to use the vending machine to get a soda and it was broken. We let the gentleman at the front desk know we were not happy with the cleanliness of our room, but he seemed to shrug it off stating that management said it was ready. The pool was not even open, it didn't look like it had been opened in years. Breakfast was alright, muffins, toaster waffles, toast, cereal, bagels, yogurt, and fruit. As well as a small assortment of juices and coffee.

the sleeping/main area looks like it had recently been remodeled, but the bathroom was a completely other story. The bottom edge of the bathroom door was gouged and missing pieces, the ceiling was covered with mold, just an unsightly mess. Why not remodel it all?

The bed was comfortable. People in room above me were jumping around making noise for awhile. Had to use toilet paper for Kleenex. Then found what I thought was Kleenex and it was napkins. Had the necessary furniture for a comfortable stay. Would have liked carpeting. TV was good. Had the necessary amenities.

The room appeared very tidy and looked recently renovated. The staff was impeccable! Extremely friendly and happy to help or answer questions. The shower wouldn't work correctly but took some finesse to turn on and off. The people on the floor above us sounded like they were playing hockey all night - every night until 5:30 AM. I would stay here again, but ask for the top floor.

Great stay as always. We come to this red roof Inn all the time when going to Williamsburg. The only reason I gave it a four out of five for the comfort was because the mattress needs replaced. Otherwise we were very happy.

The room was clean and spacious, and there were plenty of places to plug in. Breakfast was nice, plenty of variety. However, our hairdryer did not work, and the hotel is showing its age. Especially in the bathroom, it looks a bit rundown. But overall, it was a good experience.

Our shower had so-so water pressure and the soap and shampoo dispensers put out very little of their contents with each button press. It was hard to get enough out to wash our hands or hair. After bringing it to the management, the handy man did fix it quickly, but it shouldn't have needed to be fixed in the first place. The room was not cozy.

Overall the hotel was nice. The checking in part was a little inconvenient because they were short staffed for housekeeping and no clean rooms. Instead of helping out to turn rooms over they sat in the office instead of trying help out. Even left and came back in the allotted time frame they said it should be ready and still not done.

They charged me 7 times for 1 night and had trouble refunding me my money and I still have yet to get the money back and I’m currently waiting to try and get it back. Not to mention the fact that Nathan ( the manager that was on duty) yelled at me and threatened to kick my daughter and I out over the situation when I said I would call the police Bcs I felt I had been robbed. When I tried to contact the owner victorr he was unavailable and they refused to let me speak to him.

First off, check in was a breeze and the gentleman working the front desk was so friendly and nice! The room was comfortable and everything we needed for a 1 night stopover. The hotel is very convenient to Colonial Williamsburg and there are plenty of decent restaurants nearby. It's a decent economy hotel for the price. We checked out very early, 5AM, and the front desk attendant was also super nice and friendly.

This place should be condemned. The floor dips and sways like the high seas. Smoke alarm was pulled out of the wall. Bathroom door was mauled and door frame was rusted through. Gunk on the walls. Bed linens were filthy and stained. About the only good thing was Chris at the front desk. The other guy Abi was rude -acting like we were bothering him - when we called to confirm our reservations Later investigation revealed multiple bad reviews and platitude answers from the owners. Dear sirs, don’t waste your time responding because if you really cared you would have addressed these issues when they were reported earlier. Wish I’d done my homework. Just trying to warn others now. STAY AWAY!!!!!

Bed linens were filthy and stained. About the only good thing was Chris at the front desk. The other guy Abi was rude -acting like we were bothering him - when we called to confirm our reservations Later investigation revealed multiple bad reviews and platitude answers from the owners. Dear sirs, don’t waste your time responding because if you really cared you would have addressed these issues when they were reported earlier. Wish I’d done my homework. Just trying to warn others now. STAY AWAY!!!!!

The desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Appreciate the vinyl flooring, no carpet. Outside lighting was excellent. We do not normally stay in a motel, but felt safe. Acceptable for a one night stay during a road trip.

I was looking for a budget friendly hotel near Busch Gardens and Red Roof was the winner. The price was right, but the condition of the property is just okay. My one interaction with the staff was positive so no complaints there, this was during check-in around midnight. If you have time I highly recommend walking 3 minutes to Copper Fox Distillery, good stuff!

Love Red Roof Inn we stay here every visit to Williamsburg. Staff is always so friendly, the rooms are great for the price, and conveniently located between Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens & The Outlets.

The hotel is completely run-down. It is pet-friendly, and the first room the sheets were full of dog hair and looks like they hadnt been washed. So was the tub and sink. We changed rooms and it was at least not hairy, but it still had stains on the bedding and was just... grimy. There was a hole in the wallof the bathroom that was plugged with toilet paper. Breakfast was store bought muffins and thawed waffles.

Not great. Room was dusty/dirty. Huge burnhole in my sheet, would not sleep under covers. Shower was gross, would not use. Breakfast (bagels and muffins) were stale and unappetizing. Only good thing was Chris, the front desk clerk. He was very friendly

I would not give this place more than 2.5 stars. Previous reviews were false. Its not in the best area, the bathroom sink was not clean, there is mold on the ceiling in the bathroom. Very tiny bathroom. No body soap in the dispensary. Not much offered at breakfast. Property is not one of the updated Red Roof Inns.

Staff was very friendly and got us in very quickly. Room was very nice and updated. Room was bigger than we thought, and the beds were very comfortably. AC worked very well, and the room was nice and quiet from the outside. Our dog never barked once while we stayed. Breakfast was sufficient, but not many options. However, for the price of the stay, breakfast met our needs. The only issue was with the shower. The pressure was very low and most of the spouts on the shower head were blocked. In addition, the tub did not drain well at all. When I showered, the water level would get above my feet and take about 15 minutes to fully drain. They price was unbelievably low compared to other hotels in the area and met all our needs while saving us money to spend dinning out and shopping. Thank you

The room was clean and spacious, and there were plenty of places to plug in. Breakfast was nice, plenty of variety. However, our hairdryer did not work, and the hotel is showing its age. Especially in the bathroom, it looks a bit rundown. But overall, it was a good experience.

The gentleman who checked us in was friendly, and gave us extra towels when we asked. That's where the good ends. When we got to our room it smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be a non-smoking room. 2 of the chairs were torn up, almost like a cat got to it. Behind/beside the microwave was dusty and a used napkin had been left behind the microwave. The motel is pet friendly, and there were several dogs. Dogs that we heard barking at all hours of the night. One would start, and the others would chime in. Out of curiosity, we pulled the filters out of the AC unit and they were caked with dirt. We washed them in the bathtub, which was probably the first time they had been cleaned. We tried to use the vending machine to get a soda and it was broken. We let the gentleman at the front desk know we were not happy with the cleanliness of our room, but he seemed to shrug it off stating that management said it was ready. The pool was not even open, it didn't look like it had been opened in years. Breakfast was alright, muffins, toaster waffles, toast, cereal, bagels, yogurt, and fruit. As well as a small assortment of juices and coffee.

We had no hot water the first night, the coffee machine was broken, they weren’t offering breakfast, the toilet was leaking all over the bathroom floor. Not a lot of good things to say, but the location was convenient and the customer service was excellent (minus the housekeeper knocking on our door at 10am to ask if we were checking out when checkout wasn’t til 11am and my husband was still sleeping)

The location was convenient to Colonial Williamsburg by car, and the price was less than all the other nearby hotels. We had some issues with our room. It was clean but very old. The internet did not work, but the front desk was ready with a fix to use an alternative network. There were a few flies and flying ants in it. There were constant loud noises coming from the room directly above us from 9 pm until after midnight like moving furniture, banging, and things dropping on the floor. I suspect the room was being remodeled. There was only one ice machine and it was broken. The pool was covered up. The grounds were a little shabby. The bed was comfortable, and the AC and all the lights worked fine.

the hair dryer did not work. I did ask front desk to see they could fix issues never came by. bathroom door does not closed. the tub is dirty and rusty and had some bugs should have elevator i couldn't stair very well
